Fulham’s home form under Roy Hodgson was key to their success in recent seasons; 36 of their 46 points last term came at home, as well as 8 of their 12 clean sheets. Despite the change in manager over the summer, the pattern this season hasn’t changed. They have picked up a respectable 9 points in five home games so far, but are still without a win away from home.

Thankfully, Fulham have the luxury of three home games in the next four, and begin their kind run of fixtures by playing host to Man City, who despite their wealth of attacking talent have struggled to find the net recently. Another home game follows with a visit from struggling Birmingham, then Arsenal away, before another home game against Sunderland. We can probably expect at least one, maybe even two clean sheets from this run, and so the likes of Salcido, Hughes and Hangeland are now firmly on our radar.

While Aaron Hughes and Stephen Kelly offer cheaper routes into the Fulham defence, the crown jewel in the Fulham defense is surely Brede Hangeland. His aerial ability and confidence on the ball has attracted the attention of several big name clubs over the years, with good reason. It’s not just his defensive qualities that make him such an appealing Fantasy prospect though, his strength in the air means he goes up for most corners and set pieces and has bagged two goals already this season as a result.

While Hangeland may not be the most exciting of picks, he offers a level of consistency that seems so hard to come by this season. Along with Aaron Hughes, Hangeland has played every minute of every game so far, and with so many other defenders nursing injuries or at risk of rotation due to European commitments, his reliability and kind fixtures make him a very smart choice right now. While 5.6 may seem like a lot of money to spend on a Fulham defender, as with Gary Cahill at Bolton, sometimes it makes sense to pay that little bit extra for potential at both ends of the field with the potential for Bonus Points thrown in.

I have both and although it is a lot of money to tie up, I honestly can't see where I can do better with it in midfield (already have Fab/VDV/Nani), and I'm reluctant to invest big in defense in case it leaves me with my hands tied when the big money strikers start firing again.

i would not get rid of tevez. city have a run of good fixtures coming up and he's at the center of any goals that they do produce. gyan's numbers will drop once bent is back as they'll likely share the scoring more and not be as dependent on benty.

What does everyone think of this bet?

Derby to beat Scunny - Derby won last 5 home games.

Huddersfield to beat Exeter - Huddersfield won last 4 home games.

Man Utd to beat Wigan - Don't need an explanation.

Carlisle to beat Walsall - They're away but Walsall are rubbish, Carlisle have won their last 4 games and seen a stat that Walsall haven't had a home draw in 17 games. So Carlisle must win.

Port Vale and Wycombe draw - Wycombe have won their last 6 away games, but Port Vale haven't lost in 8 home games. Port Vale are at home, draw written all over it?

    5 fold, 20/1.

I disagree Sunderland have kept 6 clean sheets this season and 4 of them have been at home. Add to that their pretty decent fixtures and the fact 3 of their next 5 games are at home and I can see Onuoha outscoring Samba in that period.

        Yeah I guess.

At least I won't be annoyed all day after VDV goes mental and I decided not to bring him in and Fabs has a nightmare and yet again I have another bad captain week!

How is this for a WC team:

    Gordon, Jassk
    Alex, Rio, Koncheskey, Dann, Williamson
    Cesc, Nani, Jarvis, Nzogbia, Bale
    Gyan, Drogba, Carroll

Still debating on Dann and Williamson but the rest of the team seems solid.
