Fulham’s home form under Roy Hodgson was key to their success in recent seasons; 36 of their 46 points last term came at home, as well as 8 of their 12 clean sheets. Despite the change in manager over the summer, the pattern this season hasn’t changed. They have picked up a respectable 9 points in five home games so far, but are still without a win away from home.

Thankfully, Fulham have the luxury of three home games in the next four, and begin their kind run of fixtures by playing host to Man City, who despite their wealth of attacking talent have struggled to find the net recently. Another home game follows with a visit from struggling Birmingham, then Arsenal away, before another home game against Sunderland. We can probably expect at least one, maybe even two clean sheets from this run, and so the likes of Salcido, Hughes and Hangeland are now firmly on our radar.

While Aaron Hughes and Stephen Kelly offer cheaper routes into the Fulham defence, the crown jewel in the Fulham defense is surely Brede Hangeland. His aerial ability and confidence on the ball has attracted the attention of several big name clubs over the years, with good reason. It’s not just his defensive qualities that make him such an appealing Fantasy prospect though, his strength in the air means he goes up for most corners and set pieces and has bagged two goals already this season as a result.

While Hangeland may not be the most exciting of picks, he offers a level of consistency that seems so hard to come by this season. Along with Aaron Hughes, Hangeland has played every minute of every game so far, and with so many other defenders nursing injuries or at risk of rotation due to European commitments, his reliability and kind fixtures make him a very smart choice right now. While 5.6 may seem like a lot of money to spend on a Fulham defender, as with Gary Cahill at Bolton, sometimes it makes sense to pay that little bit extra for potential at both ends of the field with the potential for Bonus Points thrown in.

Anyone rekon SAF team sheet might be a bit wacky tomorrow? Im worried about nani on the bench. I think it could happen if you count how many minutes he's played recently, a rest is on the horizon imo.

      Looks okay.

I would downgrade one of Adam and N'Zogbia to De Jong or Ferguson though, and use the money on replacing Simpson or upgrading one of the two mid price mids.

You can't play all 8 front men every week, and having money sitting on the bench is wasted.

      Adam > Ferguson
      N'Zogbia > Bale or Simpson > Konchesky/Kyrgiakos/Samba

I'm not a fan of Hart at all, so I'd look at downgrading him to maybe Jussi.

You also need Fabregas. He's looking good now, and you don't want to miss the point hauls he's going to be getting very soon (maybe even this weekend against Spurs.)

I highly doubt it'll pay off.

              Hart > Jussi

should give you enough to do

              Cahill > Fabregas

I took a 4 point hit for Fabregas a few weeks ago, and I hate taking point hits. He's too good not to have, and is a perfect foil for Drogba in terms of captaincy because they have reverse H/A fixtures a lot of the time.

De Jong or Ferguson?? What for? No, you can't play 8 up front but you can rotate them and that's good fun. Don't mess around for the sake of it - stick and play with two frees that might make a real difference next week is what I'd do.

    vidic kolarov cahill simpson foley
    nani fabs VDV jarvist.cahill
    tevez carroll k.davies

This gwk im benching tim cahill as i see a 0-0 in that game, also simpson and foley with fabs (c)

      Looks pretty good.

I would look at a better combo than Cahill/Simpson though.

Simpson is doubling on Newcastle, and you already have a 3.9 bench sitter in Foley, so you're probably being too dependent on your other 3 defenders.

I think I would rather have Knight/Coleman than Cahill/Simpson, so look at maybe balancing those two out a bit better.

Midfield and attack is good. Might have some tough bench decisions in future, but you could stand to gain a lot with that team.

Cheers for the input camzy, I should have thought about that a bit more because i had coleman at 4.6. I just put in knight/coleman and it does give it a nice balance but i just have a feeling about cahill.

I went for Kolarov and vidic as nailed on starters every week so effectively i will pick my third defender from the other 3 because i normally play 3 at the back anyway..

But dropping to 13.0 means he's still 12.8 to sell.

Bang on K.E. If Adam is not fit, he won't come on for a 10 min cameo...so Arteta comes in for you.
I'm giving the armband to Fabs instead of Nani (got Nani in this week). My only reason for this is my main 2 rivals in work league are DEF (c) Nani and I need a little gamble for once.

ya, it's a toss up i think- my only hesitation is that fabs is usually pretty silent in the big match up games that are more physical and is more likely to get injured.

Lads, posted this on last page am I mad?
PaddyPower has Bolton v Newcastle 0-0 draw at 17/2. Not good odds.
I’ve signed Nani & Cahill(bol) this week and I’m thinking of subbing Carroll and playing Enrique.
          I don’t think I’ve ever played a back 4, never mind a back 5!
          BUT talk me out of playing this team please ;
          Hahhn
          Enrique/ ACole/ PJones/ Cahill/ Coleman
          Nani/ Fab(c)/ Dempsey/ Arteta
          Drogba
          (Foster/ Carroll/ Nzog/ Piquionne)

It's double figures for a reason. Carroll is high in the points for a reason. Play Carroll. Bolton & clean sheets don't mix.

Carroll has been picking up points this season regardless of whether Newcastle win, lose or draw. Look at last week, they draw 0-0 at home and he still gets 3 BPs. And the week before. They lose to us again at St James and he picks up 8 points!

think of it this way, if you do it chances of kolarov getting a cleanie away to a good home side aren't nearly as high as united keeping a cleanie at home to wigan. even if o'shea doesn't play i'm sure your bench player will match the same pts. total as kolarov and you've saved yourself a transfer.

Far from irrelevant. FISo has been quite bad this season. TotalFPL have been very good with risers apart from weird cases like Albrighton tonight. Drops are still a problem on both sites. FPL have possibly changed the formulae to make it harder for sites to predict what will happen. Protection is really for long term injuries rather than short term ones.

FPL could hide the trades in/out etc & make the price changes impossible to predict. Having the added info is a big help.
