Hats and scarves on folks, we’ve one last roll of the dice in gameweek fourteen as Sunderland play host to Everton this evening.

This morning’s paper reports proved to be correct as Asamoah Gyan sits out with leg injury allowing Darren Bent to return to the team. Anton Ferdinand comes in for Sunderland’s rock – no joke – Titus Bramble, presumably having picked up a knock too. Everton are unchanged. Full teams follow…

Sunderland XI: Gordon; Onuoha, Turner, Ferdinand, Bardsley; Richardson, Henderson, Cattermole, Zenden; Bent, Welbeck

Everton XI: Howard; Neville, Jagielka, Distin, Baines; Coleman, Arteta, Heitinga, Pienaar; Cahill; Saha

The Dugout Discussion is open awaiting all of your yelps if your heart so desires.

I think I'm gonna pull the trigger before it's way too late, should've already but I can still do these transfers.. 0 in the bank and if I do these now I'll have .2 to spare.. Two free transfers

    Malouda to VDV
    Odemwingie to Elmander

Time to take a risk, my last few weeks have been terrible

Might as well wait until VDV plays midweek now, unless he looks set to rise before then.

I want to bring in both Tevez and Kolarov - Man City's fixtures over the next couple of months look pretty tasty. Trouble is, I need to raise some funds by transferring out a midfielder, probably Arshavin or Arteta. Firstly, which would you recommend I lose?

Second - I'll have to stagger Tevez and Kolarov over two weeks as I don't want to do a -8. Which one do you think makes more sense this week and which next? How fast do you think Kolarov's price is going to go up, seems to be a LOT of people jumping on that bandwagon? I don't know how to track prices... (apart from the normal FPL way)

Wow! Newcastle will be without their first choice cbs and their prime possession retainer in barton, facing a resurgent Drogba. Very appealing prospects for captaining Drogba this week but I just can't bring myself to take the armband off Elmander after his fabulous returns this week and home game against Blackpool looming.

Only one question to ask yourself if you're considering tevez. How much longer will he keep getting lucky and score dodgy and lucky goals. Personally I don't think Man City will be a good option for attacking return in the comin weeks but tevez is a different case as he almost always seems to get the rub of the green.

Good positional sense for his first goal on Sunday.... standing half a yard offside and all that. Cracking position if you can get away with it.

Yes, I am very bitter about that. Especially considering Kolarov managed to fluff a similar chance only minutes later.

He's only going to get luckier with a strike partner, not to mention the fact he also gets a lot of assists.

For me, Tevez has to be the leading contender for Golden Boot this season.

World class. You just know he's going to score, and now with an even better team behind him, he's primed to hit 25+ goals and a similar number of assists.

Kolarov isn't going to be rotated if he keeps playing like he did at the weekend.

Incredibly offensive, decent defensively, and a setpiece taking defender playing for one of the league's best defences.

He's got incredible value at 5.7.

      You're crazy to sell Vidic.

Find someone else to sell instead.

Actually, I shouldn't say that... I need Ferdinand to rise xD

Personally I'm not convinced about Utd being able to consistently keep a clean sheet.

Coleman has (for the moment) a first team spot. So Ferdinand to Kolarov for me.

My end point is to get Coleman out by this or next week as I don't see him playing past that (past tonight really)... So Vidic => Kolarov gives me 2.0 to spend... And I'm looking around Ferdinand's price... 🙁 Or am I missing something in my attempts to justify keeping a Man U defender...

Just sit tight, take Vidic's tasty next 2 games and his rocketing price increases and then sell.
Selling him this week is madness.

Well I must say after watching City this weekend and reading so many comments here about Kolarov i'm fairly convinced and i'll be buying him myself this week.

Hopefully he turns out to be a Coleman / Adam / Simpson / Albrighton type gem of this site rather than a Stam / Boselli / van Damme or Konchesky.

      Konchesky hasn't been a bomb!

In fact, after next week, he has a nice run of fixtures. If Liverpool get their defensive act together, he could be a decent buy.

      O Boselli...

I still can't believe so many people got him. Didn't they smell Ebanks-Blake's fumes? At home against Blackpool. That fixture will be the undoing of many. Hopefully it continues this weekend with all the Elmander (c)s!

Eh Konchesky's gotten a couple of decent scores recently but i think most on here lost faith and didn't reap the rewards.
I just don't know though.. it's Konchesky! awful awful footballer (if you could call him that) A poor man's Julian Dicks. I'd love to know what Hodgson sees in him.

And only a fool would captain Elmander instead of Newcastle.

He hasn't lost his place yet, and he has one more game before Fellaini returns from suspension.

    konchesky, jara, foley, jacobson, elmo
    nani, VDV, fabs, arteta, adam
    tevez, carrol, elmander

7mil in bank, no more freebies

just did drog to elmander, to catch/prevent price rise/drop and also to free up much needed funds to fix my horrible defence

now i know i'm gonna take some for my early transfer but it's already done =p so the qns now is how to fix the defence? who should i go for n for whom n do i do it this wk? i'm struggling to field 3 defenders!

Start with Elmo (who is Jacobson?:)

Kolarov is the one that needs to come into most people's sides soon, but given his fixture, and how many changes you need to make, maybe it can wait a week. Samba/Jones looks a decent bet from next week onwards as well.

But actually, looking at the fixtures now, its hard to find a player with a good fixture this week who has more in the weeks to come. You may well have to get Kolarov/Samba now, and put up with the fact that you probably won't see returns until next week.

Some, like me, felt he's too expensive and there are others who are better. I did him out sometime ago for Vidic and I must say I feel pleased with myself.

For Random guys case, seeing you have all those options, how about a Fulham defender, Hangeland perhaps, (forget the 4-1 reverse they suffered in the hands of City, that was just a slip up. He's good defensively) or Baines? Or even Kolarov, or Evra. Or just another Chelsea def 🙂

i guess if u got him on the cheap, most likely, then he's a season keeper. however, since u got vidic as well, u might be spending a bit too much on defence so the cash might be used elsewhere.

If I may offer an opinion, save your transfer.

Having 2 freebies makes a huge difference.

Cole and Coleman are good for this week.

I'd just keep an eye on Elmo to make sure he doesn't drop again. If he's about to drop, get Kolarov in this week. He could get something offensively, and it's worth saving that 0.1 and hoping Kolarov does something, especially this week for you since you don't have an outstanding defender to play.

          Simple terms.

If neither of them change in price, play Foley and save a transfer.

If either of them are about to change in price, get Kolarov in and play him.
