For a man sitting in the top 400 of the Fantasy Premier League, Granville has been flapping like Gillian McKeith in an insect house all week. Reports suggest that when news of Cesc Fabregas’s injury came in, he did actually faint. He may even be pregnant.

Granville may have a healthy lead on me then but he’s been lamenting his injury woes and faces the prospect of spending points to repair matters. A perfect time to kick him while he’s down and pull out my Wildcard.

Or so I thought. Since committing to the momentous event with some early evening tinkering while the Scout Picks were forming in my head, I’ve since been body snatched to the extent that tiny football shirts came haunting me in my slumber. When the dog woke us at 4am, it provided the excuse to resume matters. I then spent the next three hours desperately trying to hide the glow of an iPhone under the duvet. Best not to wake her. The only fumbling and tweaking I was interested in at that very moment involved Charles N’Zogbia, Matt Jarvis and a fifth midfield slot.

Has it really come down to this? An almost 40-year-old, depriving himself of sleep, ferreting around with a wireless device desperately trying to avoid contact with his partner for fear of unnecessary distraction.

Chuffed with my team though.

Morning all.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

The Wildcard just adds that extra edge though doesn't it - I'd forgotten how much it can haunt you. Glad I left it until later in the week is all I can say.

played mine with the last 2 week international break. Cometh the end of the 2 weeks i was glad that it finally ended. All the chopping and changing was driving me (and invariably the wife) up the wall. Promised myself then and there that i'll never give myself as long to ponder a WC again.

Yep it sounds familiar to me to. The missus has a team to but spends nowhere near as much time as me.

Anyway Mark did you get resolution regarding NZog. I am tinkering around up front as to work out who to drop. Who would people drop:

      NZog Jarvis Cahill VDV Nani
      Carroll Tev Drog

currently Carroll has the knock but this could still change.

Should I take a 4pt hit for changing a defender. I know traditionally this is a bad idea but I am thinking Bramble to Baines as my other defenders this week are decidedly weak.

    Bos Konch Fig and Simpson.

    need your expert advice people...
    Who should i captain?

Bale - playing against johnson who aint sound defensively.. But played midweek against bremen

Torres- spurs defense is shaky... but liverpool are away and no gerard for service

Nani- will do something against blackburn's depleted medfield... but played midweek against rangers...

Has anyone else found this little bug in the FPL system? If I take Fabs out of my starting XI and put in Piquionne (so change from 3-5-2 to 3-4-3), then immediately click "Gameweek 14" under latest points, let that page load, then click the "back" button on my mouse (or the back button in Firefox) to go back to the My Team page, it's put Fabs back in but up front 🙂

Completely random and pointless, just thought I'd share it.

Very funny situation with two of my mini-league mates: We all met up last night to watch the Ashes. I'm second in my league, and the guy who's third is a rookie. I've been helping him with some tips and pointing him in the direction of FFS. He was rather disillusioned with his team and considering a few changes to rejuvenate it.

Well, while I was distracted the guy who's first in the league offers some help suggesting players for my rookie friend, who persuades himself that these recommendations are all must-have and hits his wildcard. Only to discover that 8 of his new team are now exactly the same as the guy in first, who obviously thinks there the greatest team imaginable!

I am in the same boat.. At least Bosingwa is starting so all being well i should be able to field 10 outfield players

I'd say yes but Anichebe is back and Moyes is looking to give him gametime, presumably in that right-midfield slot.

Moyes has also sacraficed Coleman a couple of times this season when games haven't been secured so I'll be crossing my fingers like you.

WOW that was honest Mark. Good luck with the wild card. Really looking forward for your choices upfront.

    Cheers,

P.S. You won't make mistake with N Zog IMO.

^^^ agree without this chap. If he does, not likely to finish the game.

He's on the field for me.

    Elmo>Knight worth a hit?

Have to play Jara otherwise and have no one coming off the bench if games are postponed?
