It’s official – Blackpool have postponed Saturday’s clash with Manchester United due to a frozen pitch.

There were discussions between Blackpool, Manchester United, the Premier League and Match Officials today and it was decided that referee Peter Walton would inspect the pitch. The official was reportedly concerned that certain areas of the surface would not thaw out in time for the planned kick off tomorrow.

Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand broke the news and vented his disappointment via his Twitter page…

Blackpool game tomorrow called off due to the frozen pitch, so gutted tweeps. Hope anyone who booked accommodation+hire cars gets their money back.

Earlier we reported how this would affect Fantasy Managers far and wide. A rush of team shuffling and transfers will now be expected prior to tomorrow’s Fantasy deadline.

We await a re-scheduled date for the game which will then give us the first double Gameweek of the season.

    I dont have 11. Fabregas and Vdv are out, Rooney and Nani not playing, Odemwengie a doubt, and Coleman might not play.
    Have 1 free transfer. Thoughts on: Fabregas – Nasri, Coleman – Kolorov (4 point hit) .

      Transfers!

      It'll only cost you effectively 2 points per transfer (4 point hit minus 2 standard points compared with 0 points for not playing). And that's if they do naff all and only get 2 points.

      I were you I'd take hits to field a full 11 and look for short term only, as your extra wildcard will be active in a month or so. My two cents anyways.

    Hav already done VDV-Brunt.

    Which option would be better here or should i stay away from a 4pt hit bearing in mind im only fielding at max 11 now??

    a) Vidic to Kolorov (poor vidic fixtures but this would be doubling up on Citeh defenders)
    b)Nolan or Albrighton to Downing/Nasri (nasri with poor fixtures coming up)

    Any ideas??

    Just wondering if now is the time to get rid of Coleman. Would mean that I don't have to play either Lee (mcy) or Cahill (eve) but it would involve taking a point hit for a defender.... Probably not worth it in all honesty. This week could be fairly low scoring so a point hit would be even more costly than usual.

    I guess I just answered my own question... Shaddup.

    Hmm.. Nani and Rooney missing for me now. And VDV needs to go. Albrighton out aswell.

    Going to lose Rooney for Tevez (was planning on losing Davies but that makes no sense now). VDV out, probably Nasri in to cover Arsenal. Rooney back in sooner or later and certainly for the inevitable DGW.

      I would have thought a good strategy would be to:
      Bench all Blackpool/ManU (obviously), if you have more than 3 then hardluck.
      Take 4 pt hits for any injured players that won't be returning in next couple of weeks.

      That way you'll maximise your playable team.

      I wouldn't take a 4pt hit for any ManU/BPool because when rescheduled you'll want those players in and might end up taking a 4 pt hit then to get them back.
