It’s official – Blackpool have postponed Saturday’s clash with Manchester United due to a frozen pitch.

There were discussions between Blackpool, Manchester United, the Premier League and Match Officials today and it was decided that referee Peter Walton would inspect the pitch. The official was reportedly concerned that certain areas of the surface would not thaw out in time for the planned kick off tomorrow.

Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand broke the news and vented his disappointment via his Twitter page

Blackpool game tomorrow called off due to the frozen pitch, so gutted tweeps. Hope anyone who booked accommodation+hire cars gets their money back.

Earlier we reported how this would affect Fantasy Managers far and wide. A rush of team shuffling and transfers will now be expected prior to tomorrow’s Fantasy deadline.

We await a re-scheduled date for the game which will then give us the first double Gameweek of the season.

johnfinlay John swears he'll deliver unbiased Fantasy Premier League tips and news...until Leeds get promoted.

          You have far too much confidence if you're willing to waste a Captain on Nani.

            I thought, I will work with value/form thing..! But just realized that also would not work.

            value will go to Drogba
            and
            Form to Carrol

    My team for this week. Before transfers.

    Foster
    A.Cole Kolarov Jara Hutton Coleman
    Nasri N'Zogbia
    Drogba Elmander Carroll

    Bench: Jaask: Nani VDV Arteta

    So transfers.

    Arteta -> Dunn
    Coleman -> Samba.

    But should I get rid of VDV for a 4 point hit? (8 in total).

      As Jamsap said on the last page will more than likely be a low scoring week so points hits could be extra costly. So no, I wouldn't take another hit.

      who would you bring in for VDV? dont u think that VDV is more of a priority rather than samba especially as its a 4 point hit and you have 4 playing defenders, 3 of which at home?

      Dunn. Bold.

      Who would drop down to the bench if you sell VDV, and who the hell is worth selling him for?

      I'd just bench Jara, Nani and VDV and get rid next week. No hit and gives you a bit more time to pick a replacement.

    I currently have BOATENG in my starting eleven. Usually I would not care so much about him not playing because mysubs would fill the gap.
    But this weekend, Nani, Vidic and Adam are on my bench.

    Boateng played in Europa Cup, coming back from injury. He should normally be the first right back for Man City. However both Richards and Zabaleta have performed well lately during his injury so I would not be surprised to see Boateng on the bench again this week end.

    So my dilemna is:
    -keep him but he does not play, I have no sub to come in
    -sell him for kolarov but it willcost me 4 pts and I would be gutted if Boateng eventually plays..

    What do you guys think?

    Can someone clear up the "emergency captain" rule for me? Suppose I select Drogba as captain, and "Value" as my strategy. My next two most expensive players are Nani then Cahill, in that order. Suppose that for some freak reason, Drogba doesn't play, the captain will then become:
    1. Nani, even though he also won't play.
    2. Cahill, as he's then the most expensive player who actually did play.

      Cahill. If he doesn't play, then your next most expensive, and so on. As long as you have at least one player who plays, they won't assign the armband to anyone who doesn't play.

        P.S. about BO again... With the care packages, can you re-roll with hardline pro, and then your mate then re-roll again on the same package if you still don't like it? Because if you can, then playing with a mate both having hardline pro and the three packages as killstreak rewards would mean you are virtually guaranteed to get some mad killstreak rewards every match...

      Parker > MGP

      West Ham = Difficult run
      Blackburn = Favourable run

    If a 4 point hit left you relying on Coleman to field 11 would you take another hit to ensure 11 starters?

      Hmmm... I very well may be in the same situation if Odemwingie doesn't play... Scores could be awful this week, I wouldn't be particularly keen on taking point hits, especially for a defender.

      Gross spot. I think wait to see if there is any more news in the morning. Who would you be considering if you were going for a hit?

          Yeh he looks your best bet. Looks like Coleman has had his time now.

      Classic spelling.

      He's from Nigeria, probably hates the Locomotiv Moscow fans now and was player of the month for September.

      Oh, and he's a minor doubt for the weekend.

    thought id better keep my transfer for this very reason at the end of the week

    my team as it stands now is;

    Hart

    A Cole Elmo Kolarov Simpson

    Ferguson Nasri Bale

    Elmander Drogba Carroll

    Subs: Jaas Vidic Nani VDV

    Now what do i do now Man Utd game is off???

    play a 3-4-3 and upgrade Ferguson for a player 5.9 or less or play 4-3-3 and upgrade Elmo as sunderland game looks likely to be called of for a defender 6.4 or less?

    suggestions help etc pleasethankyou

      Yeh Elmo looks pretty dodgy as well. Good move keeping your transfer I did the same for the same reason. Samba is worth a look at that price assuming you don't want to sell VDV.

        I was waiting on hearing conclusive reports of VDV's injury like he could be back sooner than expected and Fabregas was an expensive luxury i swapped for Nasri

        I was thinking Samba or the big dirty Greek stopper who was outstanding at Ibrox many moons ago 😉

        which will score better points this GW?
