It’s official – Blackpool have postponed Saturday’s clash with Manchester United due to a frozen pitch.

There were discussions between Blackpool, Manchester United, the Premier League and Match Officials today and it was decided that referee Peter Walton would inspect the pitch. The official was reportedly concerned that certain areas of the surface would not thaw out in time for the planned kick off tomorrow.

Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand broke the news and vented his disappointment via his Twitter page…

Blackpool game tomorrow called off due to the frozen pitch, so gutted tweeps. Hope anyone who booked accommodation+hire cars gets their money back.

Earlier we reported how this would affect Fantasy Managers far and wide. A rush of team shuffling and transfers will now be expected prior to tomorrow’s Fantasy deadline.

We await a re-scheduled date for the game which will then give us the first double Gameweek of the season.

      If you have 11 players playing for defo then no point in taking a 4 pt gamble is there? IF there is a risk you are down to 10 then the 4pts becomes an easier decision but even then you have to be sure the new player will score at least pts. Only caveat to this is if the transfer is a long term play then it might be worth it in any event.

              Apart from the first 20 minutes, it was pretty good. I had a really good view, and I agreed with the BP judges, although Wigan were quite poor, and why Boselli took the penalty I don't understand. All in all a good day out for £20. The only problem was when I heard Berbaflop had scored 5 in the week I sold him!!

    im tipping DROGBA to come good this weekend. Terry's comeback will give the whole team a boost..it will release cole to go further forward to cross balls into the box..lampard will probably come on during the game and allow malouda to go further forward..drogba will have alot more chances to score tomorrow and he is due a goal...plus he has scored 6 goals in the last 8 meetings against everton....he is my surprise choice as captain for GW16. anybod agree????????

      at the start of the season "he is my surprise choice as captain" would have been ridiculed.

      I am captaining him as well, it was him or nani but nani is now obviously not playing. I dont agree with lampard, he wont play any part imo, but Drogba seems like he will score tomorrow
