It’s official – Blackpool have postponed Saturday’s clash with Manchester United due to a frozen pitch.

There were discussions between Blackpool, Manchester United, the Premier League and Match Officials today and it was decided that referee Peter Walton would inspect the pitch. The official was reportedly concerned that certain areas of the surface would not thaw out in time for the planned kick off tomorrow.

Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand broke the news and vented his disappointment via his Twitter page…

Blackpool game tomorrow called off due to the frozen pitch, so gutted tweeps. Hope anyone who booked accommodation+hire cars gets their money back.

Earlier we reported how this would affect Fantasy Managers far and wide. A rush of team shuffling and transfers will now be expected prior to tomorrow’s Fantasy deadline.

We await a re-scheduled date for the game which will then give us the first double Gameweek of the season.

          His opta stats show many shots on goal and crosses. He is talked about because of his potential. he will pick up more clean sheet pts as the weeks go on and at 5.7 offers the chance of an assist or goal. Very few in that price bracket can offer that (Samba for example is one of the few). Lots talk about him because there's lots of potential there.

    Amyone whos worried about brunt, I wouldnt be. Its not some new injury, he probably came back a little early from the groin injury, (cause hes a gamer) played the full 90 minutes, came good, and is probably sore, so is just taking a little time off from training. Brunt will start, i will bet anyone 20 quid. Cmon i need the cash.

    I have Nani and Vidic. I've already taken a 8 point hit and I have a bench of Elmander,Coleman and Elmo. I'll just play Elmander instead of Nani but sholud i make another transfer or just play Coleman or Elmo?

    I couldnt decide about using my WC this GW, but now, when the ManU match is off, it seems like a no-brainer, cause I hate to make the point hits, unless I couldnt field in full 11. Which happened now, but all in all I feel like I need a thorough makeover in order to get my team ready for the period of match postponements. So here we go:
    current team-
    Al-Habsi (Jaaskelainen)
    Cashley, Konches, Simpson, RJohnson (Elmo-very doubtful)
    Nasri (Nani, VDV, Nolan, Albrighton - all OUT)
    Tevez (c), Carrol, KDavies

    would you try to get over this GW and take just say 1 hit for a midfielder (I still have 1 freebie - means 2 transfers) and save the WC for double GWs or is it really time to spend my WC and get my team reshaped for next 2 winter months and play the second WC in late January?

    my WC team of now would have been:
    Foster, Begovic
    Cashley, Konches, Kolarov, Samba, Foley
    Nani, Nasri, Lennon, NZogbia, Etherington
    Tevez, Carrol, Bent
    +4.2 in the bank
    Notice, that Im trying to spread my team over 13 different PL outfits and Im doubling up just on City and Stoke, and it could still end up as a strong looking squad. Any comments or suggestions appreciated. Thx

    it kind of loses its sheen when it is repeated over and over

      I dont think you need to use the WC this week. Youve got just the BLP/ManU trio out and doubtful Jags, so if I were you, I would just transfer Jags OUT and let it be. Im in a similar situation like you are (see my post above), but actually without 5 players, so I have to waste my WC now...

    My team is actually in worse shape than i thought.

    Nani, VDV, Arteta, Vidic all out. Have Jara, Jagielka and Simpson all in defence who i don't really want to play.

    Gonna get Arteta out for a freebie, and then probably take Jagielka out for Samba for a 4pt hit. tempted by Kyrgiakos but can't be as confident that monday's game will go ahead before the deadline tomorrow.

    Good plan? 8pt hit to get another def out is probably overkill but i reckon a 4 point hit is probably fair beans this week.

        It's a gamble, agreed - but could easily pay for itself, and it's a transfer i want to make anyway, and will make transfers for the next couple of weeks regardless.
