It’s official – Blackpool have postponed Saturday’s clash with Manchester United due to a frozen pitch.

There were discussions between Blackpool, Manchester United, the Premier League and Match Officials today and it was decided that referee Peter Walton would inspect the pitch. The official was reportedly concerned that certain areas of the surface would not thaw out in time for the planned kick off tomorrow.

Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand broke the news and vented his disappointment via his Twitter page…

Blackpool game tomorrow called off due to the frozen pitch, so gutted tweeps. Hope anyone who booked accommodation+hire cars gets their money back.

Earlier we reported how this would affect Fantasy Managers far and wide. A rush of team shuffling and transfers will now be expected prior to tomorrow’s Fantasy deadline.

We await a re-scheduled date for the game which will then give us the first double Gameweek of the season.

johnfinlay John swears he'll deliver unbiased Fantasy Premier League tips and news...until Leeds get promoted.

Some guidance on David Silva would be appreciated. While rotation is a risk, it looks like he has been playing consistently lately. Where in mid has he been playing? Would love to get Tevez but don't really want to part with my current strikers. Though maybe a Man City mid might be an option. Thanks!

With 1.8 in the bank is it worth bringing in Nasri and getting rid of Nani for this week?

Dunno bout anyone else, but I'm captaining Torres this week for the reasons that he can be lethal at home and villa's defence is a wreck right now.

Apparently he was involved in a training ground bust-up with Jerome Boateng today or yesterday, that COULD add further to the risk of him being left out.

      Don't know if he's fit.

    HEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLP!!

    My team this week...
    no transfers left
    Hart/Foster
    Foley/Coleman/Elmo/(Vidic/Williamson)
    Nasri/Cahill/(Nani/VDV/Adam)
    Elmadner/Carrroll/Drogba

What to do???the way i see it Elmo and Coleman should get 1 point each for sub appearance and instead of a hit would be like 5 points so happy with that. But need to take an 8 point hit for two midfielders for VDV and Adam probably

Who to bring in, and is it worth it?

I know this is repetiton for some but Ive just noticed unless I take an 8 point hit Im relying on Elmo or Coleman playing to have 11 men on the pitch...

Im thinking leaving it at 4 point hit as CS so rare...but could gte Samba or Konchesy/The Greek Scouse in instead....

    Thoughts?

Similar position. I have to drop Alex but I'll probably play Elmo and keep my fingers crosses. He'll be out next week, but I can't see a brilliant replacement long term and not worth changing him for a 2 pointer.

Take the 8pt hit. At the moment it looks like both of them have lost their places-when will they next start?

Don't look at it as an 8pt hit. If you don't make the transfers you have two '0's on your team sheet this week, and you'll still have two defenders you need to offload next GW.

If you take the 8pt hit, you start from 8pts below the score you would have had, but you only need 1 CS from one of them and you've made the points back-and next GW you don't have 2 non-playing defenders to worry about.

Cheers Will good point well made...although can only swap one of them, as I am changing VDV to Ethers or Dunn as the other change, along with Alex to Kolarov. Nice score btw...what your plans this week?

Thanks ToonTom, I'm swapping Coleman for Kolorov and VDV for Nasri/Arshavin.

And if I have a drink later I'll probably get rid of Enrique for Kyrgiakos-possibly a bit silly, but I wouldn't want to play Enrique until the West Ham game in January, so it seems silly to keep him when he is pretty unlikely to keep a CS this GW.

It depends whether you're going to be able to field 11 players.

Normally if you take a 4pt hit to change a defender, the new defender has to keep a CS, and the old defender only get 2pts or less for the transfer to break even.

If you are going to be able to field less than 11 men unless you make the transfer then the situation is a little different-if the new defender has a 2pt game, you've effectively taken a 2pt hit. If the players you're talking about-Elmo and Coleman-are not players you'll want back any time soon, in my view it is worth the hit to get rid of them.

If you don't, you'll still have to offload them in the future, and it is better to take the smaller hit now to get rid.

Are you sure you want to get rid of Adam? If the postponed game is reorganised in the next couple of weeks he'll have a DGW very soon-I'd prioritise getting rid of Elmo/Coleman over him.

I’ve seen a lot of comments about getting rid of Coleman. Granted, I’ve been trying but have been unable so far without taking a hit… no point if I’m happy with the defenders in the team and can bench him currently.

It’s worth noting that he seems to play most games against stiff opposition, suggesting Moyes wants a more defensive minded midfield for tougher games. With a decent run of games behind them and Arteta out I’d expect him to get a game tomorrow? Does anyone else think similar?

well, Nani and Adam won't play as ManU vs Blackpool postponed due to weather, VDV and Cesc are also out due to injuries...maybe that will narrow it down for you?

    Got to pick 3 from:

    Foley (Bla)
    Enrique (Wbrom)
    Coleman (Che)
    Davies (Ars)

    Foley, Jose and Coleman?

I'm about to pass out! I've already taken an 8 point hit this week but now i'm thinking of doing Elmander to Bent. Thoughts?

Nightmare I'm struggling and may have to take an 8 point hit (which I've done alot this season). I now have alex, Williamson, vdv, nani and Adam all out. I either take alex/Williamson out for konchesky/big Greek and vdv out for mereiles/gerrard(gamble)/arshavin/malouda/Cahill
Or the above plus Adam out brunt in. Opinions would be much appreciated

If Sunderland's game goes ahead will Gyan be guaranteed to start? Or is it Welbeck and Bent starting and Gyan in on second half.

I noticed on one of the threads other day that Blackpool are the only premiership side without undersoil heating. Risk of not playing united at the weekend ? the ground might be rock hard ?

I believe that Craven Cottage at Fulham doesn't have under ground heating as well.
