        an early deflection usually means no assist, especially when the ball looked to be going almost goalwards until the deflection

          I'm not his biggest fan but I think he had a good enough half. Nothing spectacular but in a half where most other people couldn't pick out a pass and mainly bothered to commit as many late tackles as possible he at least showed some composure.
