We’ve managed to eek out one final fixture in this heavily truncated gameweek as Manchester City play host to Everton. Carlos Tevez has withdrawn his transfer request, could my prophecy of Friday morning ring true? Chance would be a fine thing.

City then, unsurprisingly, recall their captain and Aleksander Kolarov to the line-up follow suspension (and a hefty portion of drama), while James Milner replaces Nigel De Jong who himself is suspended. David Moyes meanwhile makes two changes as Leon Osman returns from injury to deputise for Stephen Pienaar who picked up a niggle in the week, while also giving another face a chance to shine up front with Victor Anichebe forcing Saha, Yakubu and Beckford to the bench after weeks of paltry returns. Teams in full are..

City XI: Hart; Zabaleta, Toure, Kompany, Kolarov; Milner, Toure Yaya, Barry; Silva, Tevez, Balotelli.

Everton XI: Howard; Neville, Jagielka, Distin, Baines; Coleman, Rodwell, Fellaini, Osman, Cahill; Anichebe.

As per, the Dugout Discussion opens it’s doors once again while we wrap up for the last match prior to Christmas.

Possibly, but I still think there's better options long term.. In saying that his price does make him harder to ignore.. He's on my watch list, so I'll be keeping an eye on him for sure

Yeah mate, I tink I'll be giving Malouda til WC.. I've held on this long! But in saying that, I've got Drogba as Chelsea cover if they start to sharpen up again, plus they have some decent fixtures after this week.. Hmmm

      Eh?

      Got Baines?

He should be priority. He's fixture proof.

Malouda > VdV looks pretty good though. Wait and see on Rafa's fitness though, especially since he has an away game coming up.

I've got Jagielka Camzy so a bit reluctant on getting Baines.. Have considered him, and if he's still looking good I'll WC him in for Jags.. And yeah I'll have to see how VDV is fairing fitness wise this week before pulling the trigger

          O that's cool.

Baines won't disappoint though. I was going to get him in this weekend, but didn't because I wasn't sure on the weather. I've done the transfer already. Ferdinand > Baines.

Nice one, thats a good transfer.. I'll surely keep my eye on him for next WC though.. I'm very close to finally getting rid of Malouda this week for VDV, just slightly reluctant coz of VDV's fitness.. Seems the logical move though

Keep your chin up mate. While I'm all for respecting people who captained Cahill at the start of the week, showing some backbone and not going with "Tevez will tear Everton apart to prove a point" and "remember what happened last time Man City played in the winter weather (4-1 v Blackburn)" theories, I can't say I feel the same way about people who now have him as auto captain. I'm an Everton fan so naturally took the punt based on his love of playing against City but obviously won't get the full benefits from it I should have done now. Life goes on. However, if you are one of these people feeling happy about your week because of an extremely lucky decision going for you, keep the thoughts to yourself around here. Some of us actually know how to play this game and take these 'risks' at the start of the week for a reason. I can guarantee you will all be back to your "lets captain Nani/Tevez/Bandwagon" tricks next week, whilst me and others like me with be sticking with the guys you wouldn't dare touch. Think about it.

I wish that the rules hadn't changed and if both your form capt n value capt don't play, your fu*ked, now you have a capt irregardless of what happens, all the people who put the effort in to ensure their captain is playing is all for nought now. i captained tevez on that basis

Plus the return of Arteta, he will steal some of Baines's set piece duties and will also play higher up the pitch, actually looking at bringing him in now. Baines is now on pens though isn't he?

Arteta higher up the pitch needs to happen, it's a shame it takes a player leaving to force Moyes into it. He's far better creatively than defensively, even if he did start at Barcelona as DM. As for Baines, he took the last one I think. Don't change it if it isn't broken?

it was city 25 shots, everton 4..

city had like 7 on target and everton had 2

just one of those games, evertons defence was top notch, howard done well, and man c came very close, either way i was very happy with kolarov, took corners, fk's had a few crosses, few shots, very promising!

looked like it, there was 11 corners and he took a fair few of him and a decent fk and few shots, him and baines are fantastic LB's

I'd love to get baines but i've already coleman, bit of a sideways move and i think baines will be sligtly hindered when Cahill leaves Jan 1st

                + wildcards around the corner

been quite a good week after all, thanks to cahill as emergency capt and tevez getting 2. 37 point this week. glad i have two bburn to cover this snowy weather..

problem still arise though, with two transfer in hand , im really in dilemma how to take close a 70 points gap with current league leader ( im 4th ), not that id want that in 1 week, but maybe gradually beat him with a good captain choices?

    hence... RMT please?

    Foster- Carson
    Konch-Coleman-Vidic-PJones-LuisEnrique
    Cahill-Fabs-MGP-Lee-Nzog
    Drog-Torres-Caroll

    0.2 in the bank

going to fully utilize the 2 free transfers maybe taking a 4 point hits if necessary to get 3 inside my current setup. or are there any good ideas ?

really appreciates it , thanks in advance!

its gona be a shit storm for wildcards, depends on when the games get played, we already know about utd-blackpool theres gona be so many dgw players that it really wont make a huge difference youl still want some sort of long term plan rather then having players for the sake of the dgw, i.e. kolarov and tevez if none of their games get cancelled
    just throwing it out there.

i got yaya in on firday night since am in the states, worked out ok, nu away up next for them, more dangerous away then they are at home, de jong will be back means he plays top of the mid three

I have absolutely no idea what transfers to do this week! For the first time this season I have no injuries forcing my hand, no long term goal of fitting certain players together and with a wildcard to be played in about 3 or 4 weeks it doesn't really matter how imbalanced my team gets.
Nevertheless! I wouldn't mind people throwing a few ideas out.

    Robinson (Carson)
    Ivanovich, Baines, Coleman, Simpson, Kolarov
    Nani, Bale, Lee, Nasri, Ferguson
    Carroll, Tevez, Drogba

2 free transfers and 3.9m in the bank.

Thinking Lee -> VDV but can't anything else really.Maybe look to bring in Cesc next week.

Lee>VDV is good, if you don't mind doubling up with Bale. Lee will head off to the Asian Cup soon.
I have Carson and am looking to ditch him (just look at his stats).

guys need some advice.i drew level 26-26 with my opponent on fpl cup. now the rules said:

If a cup match is drawn, then the following tie-breaks will be applied until a winner is found:

    * 1. Most goals scored in the gameweek - i scored 2 goals, he scored 1
    * 2. Fewest goals conceded in the gameweek - myself 7, he took 8.
    * 3. Virtual coin toss

so I'm through to the next round rite??but why the score is still provisional?

Buggeration. Knocked out of the cup by three points. Going into last night I had Tevez, Hart, Kolorov and Cahill and he had Cahill. Captain defaults ended up on Tevez and Cahill. That's about as unlucky as a man who pulls Angelina Jolie in a club and spends a night of wild passion with her only to wake up the next morning and find out that it is actually Salford's leading Angelina Jolie impersonator, and his name's Enrique, and he is carrying a strangely persistent infectious disease which results in a single symptom - a rash shaped like a swastika on your forehead.

What I am trying to say is there are plenty of users outside the UK meaning the site should always have a decent numbers of users at any time. VDV is a very popular player & news of a return will equal many managers getting him in. He could easily go up later in the week if news is positive on his return.
