Tevez Withdraws City Transfer Request

Carlos Tevez has withdrawn his formal transfer request after “clear the air talks” with Roberto Mancini and the club.

The news comes just hours before Tevez is due to take the field for City against Everton in a game which could see Mancini’s side climb to the summit of the Premier League.

In an official club statement City announce that “Carlos expressed his absolute commitment to the Club and formally withdrew his transfer request.”

A delighted Roberto Mancini went a stage further…

“Carlos is a world class player whose contribution since he joined the Club has been invaluable. I am pleased that we are now able to focus on pure football matters and to be able to look forward to Carlos continuing to play a significant role in the Club’s progress.”

The news comes as a major boost for City and for Fantasy owners of Carlos Tevez. The Argentine will presumably now wear the captain’s armband in tonight’s game.

Expect Tevez to crash back into our Watchlist rankings in tomorrow’s update.

      This is evening is going to be interesting on here... either there will be a load of Tevez(c) owners absolutely lapping it up, or a load of non-owners expressing great relief and mockery.

          Doesn't count for much though. Last season, unlike this one, Everton played City when they (Everton) were bang on form. And City were mostly gash in the seasons before that.

                My post was CLEARLY referring to away from. Since Everton are away i thought that made sense.

                My point was that going into that game no one expected Everton to win 0-2 having lost 3 and drawn 1 of their last 4 away matches.

              its simple dude. one of my best mates is a scottish pakistani and he's gay, if ever anyone had the reason to feel like he was being persecuted its him. As it stands he's a self made millionaire in Edinburgh and has one of the best houses i've been in. an absdolute gem of a guy.                 i wasnt putting everyone in the same category, i know its not black and white of course. But my point is that if a black male and white male apply for the same job with the same qualifications, more than likely the white male will get it. there will always be that bit of racism wherever yo go. The same will apply to a white guy in a prodominantly black country. Of course you get blacks, asians, chinese etc who are more clever and will get far in life but my point is if one had the same qualifications as a white male in this country chances are the white male would get further. You are entitled to your opinion I guess it just depends on your life experience.

    Well I for one would love to hear a direct quote from Tevez himself. Just a few weeks ago he said he was committed to City, a statement he later said he felt pressurised to give.

    On another note im pretty worried about how everyone is talking up (my captain) Tevez for a brace tonight on here. Every time this happens the player in question fires a blank!
    So to counter that... he's gonna play shit, get booked, subbed on 58, flip the bird to City fans and punch the mascott on his way down the tunnel.

    I reckon it would be a good idea to de-value a captain if he is not your 1st choice, maybe make his points 1.5x instead of 2x.

    Also, it would surely be better to at least choose a sub-captain. If neither plays then tough luck. Would remove some lucky punters scoring big points through pure luck.
