After weeks of development and testing, we’re delighted to announce that “Phase Two” of the Members Area has been rolled out as a Beta today so Members can get access over the Christmas period.

This new phase is still “Beta” as there may well be a few bugs and data errors lurking that we will look to iron out before we official go “live”.

Basically, the existing Members area is still accessible the normal way, but Members can now also log in to a Beta site to get the new content. A link has been added to the menu bar at the top of this site and there is a new item in the Members Area linking to the Beta.

So what’s new you may ask? Lots of good stuff…

Gameweek OPTA Stats
Members can now view OPTA statistics for Players and Teams by individual Gameweeks or by a range of Gameweeks. This means you can now view just how players have performed in any given Gameweek and get a view of performance over a range of Gameweeks of your choice. This can be applied to Player and Team data.

This means you can get an immediate view on the top performers in a given Gameweek so you can check things like “show me how many crosses Baines put in this week” or indeed how many he’s put in over the last four Gameweeks or for any range of Gameweeks – how your filter the data is up to you. This allows for a new level of analysis for Fantasy Managers on our vast range of statisical data.

View Data By Averages Per Appearance
You can now view all OPTA player data using per appearance averages rather than absolute data. By using average data you can get a fairer view on player performance with those who have played less matches ranked on equal terms. This can be applied to “All Gameweeks” or individual or Gameweek ranges using the Advanced Filters area in the top menu bar.

Improved Player Profiles
We’ve improved our Individual player profiles to include more statistics and updated players with profile information from Freebase.com. We’re aware that some of the profile descriptions are not complete and there are some errors here – we will be working to replace any descriptions that have problems before going live.

Data in the Beta site will be updated with the Data in the Live Members site, so you will be able to view data on Gameweek matches soon after completion.

Obviously this content is only available to Members and is being run as an unsupported Beta. That means we can’t be responsible for any bugs or errors in the data right now, but will work to squash these before the Members live site is replaced.

If you spot a a bug or error in the Beta please notify us via this email address – beta@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk

We will hope to come out of Beta in the New Year. In the meantime, have fun with the new toys.

Of course, if you’re yet to sign up as a Member and want to know more, you can view details here.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Hey, everyone! I probably won't be online before the deadline now, so was wondering if anyone has any opinions on my team this week:

    Foster, Krul
    Vidic, Samba, Bardsley, Kolarov, Konchesky
    Malouda, Nasri, Nani, Cahill, Bale
    Tevez, Welbeck, Carroll

I have 2.0 in the bank and one free transfer.

I know Malouda will be out soon, won't he? And I have Welbeck ineligible to play against Man United this weekend.

    Thanks for any help!

Sunderland vs Man U so welbeck won't be available.

No obvious holes in the rest, apart from Samba maybe missing due to injury.

Defense is a little suspect if Poole is postponed and Samba out.
No good answer on who to ship out though.
Prolly just sit and have 2 transfers for next week.

Expect Totts to run wild over AV
Thinking about bringing in VdV for N'Zog.
Which player to sit if I do?

Nasri - Nani - Gamst Pedersen - Brunt - VDV

    Drogba - Carroll - Elmander

        Very tough call.

Out of all of those I'd probably bench the Zog since Wolves have been showing signs of a return to form, and he does tend to blow hot and cold.

what are the chances of the pool game being called off?

what are the chances of vdv playing all 4 games over bale

basically i want to know whether i should do

    Team linked...

Happy with gk/def until wildcard. Looking at changes in mf/st over next couple weeks. Probably will do nothing this gameweek, but over next two or three what is best option?

Elmander has to go -> Welbeck/Bent?
If I go Welbeck, I can go Jarvis/Dunn -> VdV (and change Cahill the week after, for anyone 9m or below...)

If I go Bent, I would go Cahill->VdV, potentially saving a transfer, although I'd be looking to get rid of Jarvis/Dunn anyway...

    Or any other ideas?! Kuyt?!

    artofwong, current squad is:

    Foster Krul
    Kolarov Samba Vidic Simpson Coleman
    Yaya Nani Malouda MGP Nzogbia
    Drogba Torres Carroll

Like I say, I've looked amongst the likes of VDV, Cahill etc and there's always a good reason not to bring them in.

Until Samba is ruled out, or a game is called I think, if I do say so myself, it's a damn good squad.
But I'm still planning 'match abandoned transfers'

To be honest, at the moment I'm thinking of benching Nasri. Even if Nasri gets an assist or goal, i really can't see the game being high scoring.

Caroll's lowest score for a good while now is 5! MGP has a decent game and has shown good form registering bp's even when not scoring/grabbing an assist...

    Jaaskelanien
    Kolarov Vidic Coleman
    Nani Nasri N'Zogbia Cahill Yaya
    Drogba Torres (c)

    subs: Foster, Odemwingie, Samba, Jara.

Obviously Odemwingie comes in for Torres if the Liverpool game is called off. The only real dilemma I have is whether or not to start Samba, although I wouldn't know who to drop for him. Surely he'll either start and play 90, barring any injury or red card, or not feature at all.....

I fancy Rovers to keep a CS whereas I don't think City will. So I guess it's a case of will Kolarov assist/score? Not if he plays like he did last outing.

If it helps I'm currently playing Samba, Vidic, Coleman with Kolarov as sub.

To be honest, I'm reluctant about benching Kolarov for any fixture.... City have one of the best defences in the league and he carries a significant attacking threat. It's only a matter of time until he does something and I'd hate it if he was on my bench for it.

But then again, Blackburn-Stoke is bound to be low scoring and Blackburn have a great chance of keeping a cleanie. Hopefully Samba just doesn't play and I have no decision to make!

True enough. I'm in the same boat, so Kolarov will simply come in. It's by no means an easy decision to make though and one of Kolarov's quick crosses along the ground could always be knocked in. Then again Samba also carries an attacking threat.

Will probably get rid of Samba next week, possibly for Bosingwa - despite having spent most of the past two months telling people not to get him in! Chelsea's fixtures pick up considerably after this week and he's the only defender I'll be able to afford.

Have you thought about getting a Sunderland defender in? Onuoha's done great for me

Ooohhh.. Good call. After this week their next five are excellent, including three at home where they are always solid.

But who to get though?! Not sure I can justify paying 5.5 for Onouha.

Bardsley is very popular these days.

Hmmm not sure, i think he was about 5.0 when I got him. I think its worth it if you can afford it, but if not Bardsley looks good.

Maybe... I could live with getting rid of Cahill for West Ham and Stoke away.

I'm just not sure how much football he'll play with the fixtures so congested. He's never been fully fit once this season, and playing loads of football in dodgy conditions isn't going to help. Although I guess it's the same for everyone.

I know- the fixture congestion does make me worry, but I reckon he'll have to play a part in at least one of those matches, which could mean another double figures points haul.....

Though saying that, if cleverley scores again I may have to leave my midfield! 😀

I'd play MGP over Brunt, he's on great form and could have a big score this week.

Man City perform better away and Tevez is at the heart of everything. There was an article on here about it a few days back about teams making it tough for Man City at home, but Tevez doing much better away. I've got Tevez and Brunt and I'm reluctantly benching Brunt this week. Tevez is unbenchable as far as I'm concerned.

I would find a way to get Bale out and VdV in, Bale in great form but doesnt really get alot of pts. especially compared to VdV

      In a good way......

How you holding up btw? If you're feeling down then just remember, only three more rejections until you get to go to Exeter! 😉
