After weeks of development and testing, we’re delighted to announce that “Phase Two” of the Members Area has been rolled out as a Beta today so Members can get access over the Christmas period.

This new phase is still “Beta” as there may well be a few bugs and data errors lurking that we will look to iron out before we official go “live”.

Basically, the existing Members area is still accessible the normal way, but Members can now also log in to a Beta site to get the new content. A link has been added to the menu bar at the top of this site and there is a new item in the Members Area linking to the Beta.

So what’s new you may ask? Lots of good stuff…

Gameweek OPTA Stats
Members can now view OPTA statistics for Players and Teams by individual Gameweeks or by a range of Gameweeks. This means you can now view just how players have performed in any given Gameweek and get a view of performance over a range of Gameweeks of your choice. This can be applied to Player and Team data.

This means you can get an immediate view on the top performers in a given Gameweek so you can check things like “show me how many crosses Baines put in this week” or indeed how many he’s put in over the last four Gameweeks or for any range of Gameweeks – how your filter the data is up to you. This allows for a new level of analysis for Fantasy Managers on our vast range of statisical data.

View Data By Averages Per Appearance
You can now view all OPTA player data using per appearance averages rather than absolute data. By using average data you can get a fairer view on player performance with those who have played less matches ranked on equal terms. This can be applied to “All Gameweeks” or individual or Gameweek ranges using the Advanced Filters area in the top menu bar.

Improved Player Profiles
We’ve improved our Individual player profiles to include more statistics and updated players with profile information from Freebase.com. We’re aware that some of the profile descriptions are not complete and there are some errors here – we will be working to replace any descriptions that have problems before going live.

Data in the Beta site will be updated with the Data in the Live Members site, so you will be able to view data on Gameweek matches soon after completion.

Obviously this content is only available to Members and is being run as an unsupported Beta. That means we can’t be responsible for any bugs or errors in the data right now, but will work to squash these before the Members live site is replaced.

If you spot a a bug or error in the Beta please notify us via this email address – beta@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk

We will hope to come out of Beta in the New Year. In the meantime, have fun with the new toys.

Of course, if you’re yet to sign up as a Member and want to know more, you can view details here.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

What happens if Blackpool and Liverpool gets the go ahead - then is called off at half time after the pitch inevitably freezes over - again? I'll probably still captain Torres anyway but it's something to worry about over Christmas dinner.
Selling Drogba for either Tevez or Rooney - both have smashing fixtures but the fact that I have Nani is making me go for Tevez. Seasons greetings

Good. Sorted so! In Ireland, today was ridiculously cold and the roads were as bad as ever....on my way home from work I was thinking if Torres would crack open afew tins on Xmas day - seen as he doesn't care about LFC anymore...weirdly, it made me want to captain him even more.

Penalty aside, he was the best player on the pitch. Our defenders couldn't mark him (which doesn't mean much obviously) and he beat them to pretty much every ball. Kept possession, looked at ease...Watch this space

Cahill could finally get a clean sheet but then seriously consider getting rid of him based on Bolton's fixtures after this weekend. Jarvis has the ability to tear Wigan apart, he's very good at home for Wolves. No need to get rid of either right now at all...

    Off topic stupid question.
Put on darts match expecting to see SSN last night.
Why don't the throwers go for the 100 point bulls eye?

I guess we always played the bullseye as 100 and the second ring bullseye as 50.

What's people's thoughts on Hangeland until WC time?

West ham and West Brom at home in the next 4 and also Wigan after that. I'm just thinking in case Samba doesn't make it. An alternative is a Sunderland defender but that would be next week. There doesn't seem a straight forward superb transfer for defence.

I currently have Kolarov Vidic Samba Simpson Coleman.

    Foster (Carson)
    Konchesky, Kolarov, Coleman
    Yaya Toure, Nani, Nasri, Malouda
    Carroll, Drogba, Torres (c)

    (1.N’Zogbia, 2.Alcaraz, 3.Onuoha)

Was hoping to know if BLP v LIV was ok but looks like we wont know in time. Emergency captain set to form (Nani).

Just one free trade, thinking Coleman > Rafael

    Thoughts guys???

Would it be utter madness to captain Drogba over Nani this GW?

I'm sure all the players in my mini-league will be captaining Nani, but none of them have the Drog. I'm only 15 points behind the leader but thinking that it might be a good differential.

But then again, it could all go pear shaped.

i'd captain Nani because I dont think Drogba will do much. You've a lot of gws to catch your rival and your only 15 points behind. My rival caught me last year and I was 100 points ahead. Dont panic.

I think I'll go for it. I'm not in any way panicking but I've gone with the captain's poll choice for so long now and have precious little in return.

Lamps back and Drog's history vs Arse does it for me.

        Thanks for the advice.

I'd keep as is since it's a well balanced team.

My only concern would be Coleman's place/attacking potential now that Arteta's back. But it's only a slight concern.
