Charlie Adam finally returned to action this weekend and was once again influential in a Blackpool performance at Man City that won them further plaudits.

Having been denied appearances by postponements and a belated one-game ban, Adam is now firmly back on our radar at an opportune time.

The postponed games have created a backlog of Bloomfield Road fixtures that now makes Blackpool players all the more attractive in Fantasy Football terms. With three double gameweeks of home matches coming up (BIR & LIV, wba, SUN & MUN, WHM, eve, AVL & TOT) and favourable opponents such as West Ham at home, Ian Holloway’s men present some alluring options.

Charlie Adam looks to be the number one target to consider amongst Ian Holloway’s assets…

In the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game the Scot has already notched up 77 points this season. As well as having the potential to find the back of the net (3 goals) and set-up teammates (4 assists). With Adam dominating set-plays for the Tangerines, he always carries the promise of potential returns.

Adam is also charged with some serious Bonus Points magnetism and has managed to grab 25 so far this term, the highest in the game with his latest maximum gathered in the defeat to City. Our Members’s OPTA stats clearly show Adam to be amongst the most influential players in the league in terms of “touches” and “passes” and it’s this presence that continues to hoover up the Bonus. There’s no reason why this pull should diminish over the frenzied Blackpool schedule, particularly if Holloway’s side can go on defying the odds and earning points.

Adam’s ownerships has understandably been plummeting in recent weeks and he now has a current FPL coverage of 12.1%. Combine that with a valuation of just £5.4 million and Adam looks like a reliable cut-price choice to compliment your more costly and explosive midfield options.

As the cold snap seems to be momentarily ceasing and Bloomfield Road finally thaws out, now appears to be the ideal time to pick a rested and rejuvenated Charlie Adam; a player who has helped shape Blackpool into this fearlessly entertaining side that everyone has developed such a soft spot for. Certainly, if the current Captain Poll results are any indication, Adam is in big demand as we enter Blackpool’s first double fixture against Birmingham and Liverpool. He currently dominates the poll with 44% of the votes so far.

johnfinlay John swears he'll deliver unbiased Fantasy Premier League tips and news...until Leeds get promoted.

I'm sure this has already been asked many times, but when are most people Wildcarding??

    a) GW23
    b) GW24
    c) GW27

    I'm tempted with a) personally

GW23 because if you play your WC right, you can have the same team you would get in GW27 with the WC, but also have the team you want leading up to it aswell. 😀

gw26 - load up with arsenal and totenham players while keeping the likes of adam, brunt. i prefer to do it gw26 as you get tottenham and arsenal's good fixture going into the gw27 double and you get 2 frees in gw28 to return your team back to normal

Playing mine 23 because, as someone who hasn't used their other wildcard yet, I think it's quite an easy decision to use this as soon as it becomes available.

Those players for whom this is the final available wildcard will have a different decision to make.

When you playing it boss? As far as I can see, it's all about the week 26 wildcard...

I can have 8 DGW players for week 24 without taking a hit, and playing it in 26 allows me to get rid of Liverpool shitters and can bring in players from Arsenal and Tottenham etc.

Then Bring in Nani for Nasri probably week 28 for the double and have 2 Chelsea and 2 United.

Have to have Tevez and City defender come week 28 aswell.

rafael, kolarov, dawson, jose enrique, jara

I have Fabregas (where is he?) and Alex in mine
                And Carrol up top.

Prob wildcard week 26 and then Week 27 bench Tevez, Kolarov and Alex and play 11 doublers.

I much rather the good old Foster / Begovic duo

lolman will always be good value if he continues to play RW. He'd be on the bench most of the time anyway. In a dream world with no injuries:

                Vdv Nani Fabs Malouda

Would you take a 4pt hit to bring in a Liverpool defender/midfielder?

I have Kyrgiakos but if he doesn't start, I'm left with no LFC cover.
I already used my only free transfer this GW (Kolarov -> Evatt).

    My team:
    Gordon (Carson)
    Vidic Rafael Evatt Kyrgiakos (Elmo)
    Adam(C) VdV Nasri Nani (Albrighton)
    Drogba Tevez (Carroll)

Perhaps bring Johnson in? Or Skrtel (4 yellows, is the suspension threshold still 5 after 1 January?)

God. Imagining going through your career known as the "Dutch Aaron Lennon".

When Charlton signed Lisbie, he arrived as "the black Michael Owen".

Don't ask what he left as...

I have read posts about loading up with Arsenal and Tottenham for GW27. Be aware that the Arsenal/Spurs match in GW28 will be postponed if Arsenal beat Ipswich in the Carling cup semi on the 25th of January. It could be moved just a few days, but we won't know for sure until after the Ipswich game, which falls between GW24 and 25. So those wildcarding to bring in Spurs and Arsenal players before then, might be short for GW28.

I assume that, for players who will have both wildcards available in the January window, the first time that they play their wildcard the January one will be the one that is used?

If I end up playing the optional wildcard by mistake I might just shoot myself.

Pires has the whole older and hasnt played football in a long time so not fit excuse.

Pires at a better career in my book. World Cup final 1998 - Cl with Arsenal 2006 certainly better than Beckhams 3 years at the top.

Valerian works for some people. It's herbal and totally non-toxic.

Otherwise you could have a go at meditation, exercise and trying to go to bed at the same time. I'm an insomniac and I need to use pills for work sometimes.

Since I slated your WC team AP, I thought I'd give you the opportunity to mock mine:

    Draft #1:

    Fabianski, Begovic

    Rafael, Konchesky, Coleman, Carr, Simpson

    Fabregas, Nani, VDV, N'Zogbia, Albrighton

    Drogba, Tevez, Carroll

That defence is a disaster, and Drogba is playing horrendously, the 9 points vs Villa was ridiculously jammy.
