Charlie Adam finally returned to action this weekend and was once again influential in a Blackpool performance at Man City that won them further plaudits.

Having been denied appearances by postponements and a belated one-game ban, Adam is now firmly back on our radar at an opportune time.

The postponed games have created a backlog of Bloomfield Road fixtures that now makes Blackpool players all the more attractive in Fantasy Football terms. With three double gameweeks of home matches coming up (BIR & LIV, wba, SUN & MUN, WHM, eve, AVL & TOT) and favourable opponents such as West Ham at home, Ian Holloway’s men present some alluring options.

Charlie Adam looks to be the number one target to consider amongst Ian Holloway’s assets…

In the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game the Scot has already notched up 77 points this season. As well as having the potential to find the back of the net (3 goals) and set-up teammates (4 assists). With Adam dominating set-plays for the Tangerines, he always carries the promise of potential returns.

Adam is also charged with some serious Bonus Points magnetism and has managed to grab 25 so far this term, the highest in the game with his latest maximum gathered in the defeat to City. Our Members’s OPTA stats clearly show Adam to be amongst the most influential players in the league in terms of “touches†and “passes†and it’s this presence that continues to hoover up the Bonus. There’s no reason why this pull should diminish over the frenzied Blackpool schedule, particularly if Holloway’s side can go on defying the odds and earning points.

Adam’s ownerships has understandably been plummeting in recent weeks and he now has a current FPL coverage of 12.1%. Combine that with a valuation of just £5.4 million and Adam looks like a reliable cut-price choice to compliment your more costly and explosive midfield options.

As the cold snap seems to be momentarily ceasing and Bloomfield Road finally thaws out, now appears to be the ideal time to pick a rested and rejuvenated Charlie Adam; a player who has helped shape Blackpool into this fearlessly entertaining side that everyone has developed such a soft spot for. Certainly, if the current Captain Poll results are any indication, Adam is in big demand as we enter Blackpool’s first double fixture against Birmingham and Liverpool. He currently dominates the poll with 44% of the votes so far.

    Anyone else feel this years FPL is more luck than judgement? I've got players in my leagues who've not made changes since Oct higher than me, and it just peeezes me right off.

    Don't get me wrong, I enjoy thinking the whole thing out, but feel totally deflated after week on week of under-performing.

    Well, it's off me chest now. Onwards and upwards...

    And yes, btw I did have Kolorov and The Greek last weekend...(Gripe!)

      Has been a bit unpredictable this season alrite.. I'm having a shocking season. Down to 200k now and came 25k last season. Need to have a few good weeks when I play my wildcard to catch up.

    carrol out? I will only get 5.7 if I sell him, have had him since he was 5.0.....! Will bring him back during the wildcard anyway....! But I don´t like going into the gw with only Adam and Konchesky as double-players..? could anyone take a look at my team and tell me their opinion?

      i would go Coleman, Kolarov, Tchoyi as Everton seem to be good against the better teams and Coleman likes playing Spurs. Tchoyi is good but never gets a full 90 mins.

      Campbell for Bent seems a decent offer, not just for the double but he bags a few goals for the pool. Play Bardsley, Kolarov is a doubt and against an on-target Arsenal side.

      Stockdale for me.

      I don't particularly fancy either for a cleanie, but I reckon Stockdale is the better option. Fulham looked much better against Stoke and Tottenham and the home game swings it for me.

      Getting rid of Carroll is your best choice, I think, if they arn't going to play there is no point in keeping them. Do you have enough money for RVP? Looking to be building up his stock in a free firing Arsenal team after a couple of months out, always been important when he's fit and a good differential at the moment.

        Nope, If you remember he scored a wonder goal away to Blackburn last season. Unbelievable volley over his shoulder. Think hes scored in every game so far against Blackburn in the Prem.

          I remember him scoring that goal at Anfield.

          The game at Ewood was a drab 0-0 with the only notable moment was Steven Gerrard's pathetic attempt at a dive to win a late penalty.

            Torres has scored goals at Old Trafford, Goodison Park and The City of Manchester stadium or whatever its called, where has this myth come from that he don't score away and with Blackburn potentialy having 10 senior players out and less defensive now the Fat One has rightly been sacked then you would fancy him to do something.

              I remember when Torres passed the 100 goal mark for Liverpool, his home to away goals ratio was something like 73:27 (they did a thing about it on SSN).

              Compared to other goalscorers like Drogba, RVN, Shearer and a few other I can't think of off the top of my head (Henry's was similar to Torres'), that's quite a significant difference.

                Yeah, I'm not disputing that he does better at home but reading some comments would make you think he is incapable of doing the business away.

                I'm guessing that after Bolton Gerrard will no longer be playing deep which will benefit Torres, Blackburn are trying to be more attractive and have players missing, Blackpool are gung ho, he will get as good a Chance as any to score a few assuming Liverpool build on the Bolton result.

                  That's a fair point. Personally, my issue is more with Liverpool's away form, they've only won one away all season.

                  I suppose they don't need to win for Torres to get points though.

                    True, they could lose 10-2 for all I care so long as he scores 2, I'd rather not risk him but I've got no choice but to chase the double weeks as I'm so far behind in my leagues.

                    I'm hoping for 2 goals and 2 assists out of him in these 2 games, I don't think that's out of reach for him.

    It effects the game so much, as he won't fall as much as he would've done, and people will keep transferring him in because they don't know about it.
