Charlie Adam finally returned to action this weekend and was once again influential in a Blackpool performance at Man City that won them further plaudits.

Having been denied appearances by postponements and a belated one-game ban, Adam is now firmly back on our radar at an opportune time.

The postponed games have created a backlog of Bloomfield Road fixtures that now makes Blackpool players all the more attractive in Fantasy Football terms. With three double gameweeks of home matches coming up (BIR & LIV, wba, SUN & MUN, WHM, eve, AVL & TOT) and favourable opponents such as West Ham at home, Ian Holloway’s men present some alluring options.

Charlie Adam looks to be the number one target to consider amongst Ian Holloway’s assets…

In the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game the Scot has already notched up 77 points this season. As well as having the potential to find the back of the net (3 goals) and set-up teammates (4 assists). With Adam dominating set-plays for the Tangerines, he always carries the promise of potential returns.

Adam is also charged with some serious Bonus Points magnetism and has managed to grab 25 so far this term, the highest in the game with his latest maximum gathered in the defeat to City. Our Members’s OPTA stats clearly show Adam to be amongst the most influential players in the league in terms of “touches” and “passes” and it’s this presence that continues to hoover up the Bonus. There’s no reason why this pull should diminish over the frenzied Blackpool schedule, particularly if Holloway’s side can go on defying the odds and earning points.

Adam’s ownerships has understandably been plummeting in recent weeks and he now has a current FPL coverage of 12.1%. Combine that with a valuation of just £5.4 million and Adam looks like a reliable cut-price choice to compliment your more costly and explosive midfield options.

As the cold snap seems to be momentarily ceasing and Bloomfield Road finally thaws out, now appears to be the ideal time to pick a rested and rejuvenated Charlie Adam; a player who has helped shape Blackpool into this fearlessly entertaining side that everyone has developed such a soft spot for. Certainly, if the current Captain Poll results are any indication, Adam is in big demand as we enter Blackpool’s first double fixture against Birmingham and Liverpool. He currently dominates the poll with 44% of the votes so far.

johnfinlay John swears he'll deliver unbiased Fantasy Premier League tips and news...until Leeds get promoted.

    Lads, question from the wife!

Where has K Toure gone? Has he been abducted by the greys?
He's not on the team news on this site, or the injuries or bans section, or red or yellow flagged on the fpl site.

I know he was sent off but is that not just a 3 game ban. Where is he?!

That is exactly was I was going to say.

Nah, I guess he was just rested from the squad. Arsenal and City have big squads containing players who 'expect' to play, whereas Chelsea and Man u don't have this problem, their players 'want' to play.

Many seem to lament cheering for players and teams they hate when involved in fantasy football. However, I look at it this way: Fantasy football is about _predicting_ which players do well and facing the facts of the game. Cheering your club and players on is something completely different. One is logical, the other emotional. If you mix the two up, you need to get it sorted, because essentially what you are doing is letting emotions cloud your judgement, and maybe worse: let trivial facts (i.e. Cesc can score a goal for Arsenal) eat away at the love for your club. Sort it.

he is an angry old man who thinks he is too smart and witty, and comes up with a new insult everyday. a waste of time and space.
      the distionary definition is

      1. A Person who, being unable to express his anger through physical violence (owning to their physical weakness, lack of bravery and/or conviction in real life), instead manifests said emotions through the text-based medium of the internet, usually in the form of aggressive writing that he would not (for reasons previously mentioned) be able to give form to in real life.

I have the same issue. Fabs is coming in no matter what in GW23 but do I keep Nasri. They both got points against Birmingham and I haven't seen Arsenal play so well for ages

I think having 2 arsenal midfielders, for 5 home games 2 easy aways and 1 DGW isn't a bad idea

Or then again I've come 2millionth for the last two gameweeks so what do I know

i'm just discussing with you the options. sorry if i angered you. i think those are 2 great points, i just like my midfield as nasri/malouda/vdv/fabregas/nani. i think i might wait till adam finds his feet or we have a better picture of january's weather. thanks alot mate been a great help. much appreciated.

he'll be classed as a winger i think, think he will be about 7m, if hes a striker then about 6.5m i think.....

i am so glad liverpool have brought him into the premier league. always thought he was a class player, would defo get him into my team. he's sooooo fast and loads of skills. but i bet roy's gona 'ease' him in that would be annoying.

that means they dont want him. so i suppose aurelio is first choice?

2 freebies this week, but wondering if I should just do one change this week, Skrtel to Konchesky.

Reason being that I want N'Zogbia back for GW23 in time for Wigan double in GW24, and if I have 3 frees next week then i can do Nasri to Fabs and Cahill to N'Zog.

Of course, that does leave Cahill in for a week, and with Carroll out too that could leave me shorthanded if games get called off tomorrow. Then again, I can leave changes til tomorrow evening anyway so I'll know for sure whos playing.

3 frees? you can only get a max of 2 frees, this comment confused me, konchesky i dont think will play both matches let alone 1

I'd definitely hold fire on GETTING Konchesky. I'm considering doing a transfer in the opposite direction as I think he's completely lost his starting place...

My team - i think it is very solid (apart from sub keeper), would you agree - were my transfers this week good, i had to downgrade carol to varney so that i could upgrade barton to adam (were those transfers to heavily reliant on blackpool to do well, ... also the snow / frost problem, basically im worrying)

    Foster (hanaman)

Da silva, koleov, greek guy, coleman, jara
nani, fabregas, nasri, adam, van der vart
    torres, tevez, varney

Worked out a solid plan to bring in Gerrard for Nani this week if Nani doesnt play this week and be able to bring in back before the dgw. Wait... it means making a 12 point hit this week... back to the drawing board.

He's in my H2H league and doing as poorly as me. I noticed the other day that he has DJ Campbell and Konchesky though.

Maybe we can urge him to come forward, his double game week advice last year helped save my season

This is why people don't bother to read previous pages and so keep asking the same football questions which have already been answered

Re double game week. I've gone for Adam and Evatt but not taking any hits. While the weather midweek should be ok, its getting very cold this weekend in the north. I expect to see a few FA cup games postponed.

Also, the Blackpool pitch is likely to be frozen over the weekend. Be aware that this puts a question mark over the Jan 12 game with Liverpool going ahead.
