Charlie Adam finally returned to action this weekend and was once again influential in a Blackpool performance at Man City that won them further plaudits.

Having been denied appearances by postponements and a belated one-game ban, Adam is now firmly back on our radar at an opportune time.

The postponed games have created a backlog of Bloomfield Road fixtures that now makes Blackpool players all the more attractive in Fantasy Football terms. With three double gameweeks of home matches coming up (BIR & LIV, wba, SUN & MUN, WHM, eve, AVL & TOT) and favourable opponents such as West Ham at home, Ian Holloway’s men present some alluring options.

Charlie Adam looks to be the number one target to consider amongst Ian Holloway’s assets…

In the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game the Scot has already notched up 77 points this season. As well as having the potential to find the back of the net (3 goals) and set-up teammates (4 assists). With Adam dominating set-plays for the Tangerines, he always carries the promise of potential returns.

Adam is also charged with some serious Bonus Points magnetism and has managed to grab 25 so far this term, the highest in the game with his latest maximum gathered in the defeat to City. Our Members’s OPTA stats clearly show Adam to be amongst the most influential players in the league in terms of “touches†and “passes†and it’s this presence that continues to hoover up the Bonus. There’s no reason why this pull should diminish over the frenzied Blackpool schedule, particularly if Holloway’s side can go on defying the odds and earning points.

Adam’s ownerships has understandably been plummeting in recent weeks and he now has a current FPL coverage of 12.1%. Combine that with a valuation of just £5.4 million and Adam looks like a reliable cut-price choice to compliment your more costly and explosive midfield options.

As the cold snap seems to be momentarily ceasing and Bloomfield Road finally thaws out, now appears to be the ideal time to pick a rested and rejuvenated Charlie Adam; a player who has helped shape Blackpool into this fearlessly entertaining side that everyone has developed such a soft spot for. Certainly, if the current Captain Poll results are any indication, Adam is in big demand as we enter Blackpool’s first double fixture against Birmingham and Liverpool. He currently dominates the poll with 44% of the votes so far.

johnfinlay John swears he'll deliver unbiased Fantasy Premier League tips and news...until Leeds get promoted.

    I'm thinking for a hit;

    Nasri -> Fabs or Gerrard
    Cahil -> Cleverly

    What do you guys think?

    Slternatively I was thinking Tevez -> Torres or Drogba for no hit

    Hi everyone i won my league last year and after some dreadful gameweeks am currently second about 55 points behind 1st.

    My thinking is theres no better time to use the WC and set up for the DGW's weeks ahead.
    Heres what im thinking:

    Hart/Kingson
    Coleman/Rafael/Konchesky/Bardsley/Dawson
    Fabregas/Nasri/Nani/VDV/Adam
    Berba/Tevez/Varney

    Any comments or suggestions welcome.

    Fabianski/Begovic

        Literally no options for me though.. I have VdV, Nani, Adam, Cahill & Dunn as my midfield. Obviously need to get rid of Cahill and looking to get in N'Zogbia for Dunn next week. Got rid of Nasri foolishly last week so obviously don't wanna get him back in although it probably would be a good idea and don't have the cash for Fabregas.

            N'Zog > Adam. Have another free transfer left! I've been saying I'm not going to get anymore Blackpool players but this is really tempting me..

            Konchesky > Evatt
            Carroll > DJ
            Cahill > Fabregas

            Then could get Dunn out for N'Zog next week!

    I have been wondering all season why Joey Barton doesnt seen to pick up a more appropriate value to his achievements on FPL. 2 goals 5 assists and 13 bonus pts has brought his tally up 70 pts in just 15 matches, which means he brings in just shy of 5 pts (4,7) in average every gameweek. Lets bump his price by 1 making him 5,7. he would then be in the category of players like MGP, N'zogbia, Ethers, Adam, Brunt. The funny thing is, that though being 1 mill short in value from these players, he still picks up about the same amount of pts each round in average (some off the afforementioned picks up slightly more, some slightly less than him). Now i know the risk of sportin a player like Joey is that though being as sure as Andy Carroll to start each week when fit, he is the sort of player that picks up cards consistently throughout the whole season. Which in general means that he will with utmoust certainty find himself above the ground instead of on it a couple of times each season. But in my opinion the value he presents is worth that uncertainty, and im really curious to why more people have'nt boarded the Barton-wagon. I've had him since gameweek 5 and don't see myself getting rid of him soon. Because the fact is, he is cheap enough to be forced on my XI's bench when the occasional suspension accures =)

      In most of our teams there is one midfield value bet such as Barton. Indeed, he is a good choice for many teams but if you have Carroll as Newcastle cover, you might prefer Albrighton (4.6m) in midfield.

        Accept Albrigthon does not present the same value as Joey! 65pts in 16 matches brings him just above 4pts (4,065) in average each GW.

        Albrighton isnt really guaranteed a spot in Villas XI either. He rarely plays full 90 and gets dropped the odd weekend.

        That being said i still reckon albrighton a good value-player.

All the postponed matches could just as well result in injuries and rotation, just like many teams havve suffered from recent weeks with thight schedule.

        Nobody is certain. The fact the wasn't in the squad for the last game could mean he was just being rested, or it could also mean his mentor has finally lost patience with him after a series of quite woeful performances. If you have him, I wouldn't sell him just yet.

    1. How many matches is Stockdale guaranteed now?
    2. What about the Arsenal situation - Fabianski number 1 now, or what?

      Stockdale appearances depend on Australias progress so its variable.

    Looks like Taraabt has got a goal and an assist today. Could be a good shout for next year a la Charlie Adam.

    not sure on 1 but fabianski is no 1. But dont think it matters with the state of arsenals defense.

      Glen Johnson...not exactly a midfielder but he basically plays right wing- plus clean sheet potential

      Not sure I'd go without any Chelsea players...

      Just bitter though cos I'm 0.1 short. Bah. Would've made it if I hadn't gotten rid of Nasri.

          well 4-3-3 = 4-5-1

          so alot of the time DJ is alone upfront
