While Carlos Tevez left his Fantasy owners feeling warm and smug once again – Robin Van Persie waltzed gracefully back onto the scene this evening to turn heads and leave even Tevez owners pondering their striking options.

Re-introduced back into the Gunners lineup back in Gameweek 21, we all knew Van Persie’s qualities. It seemed inevitable that they would bring him to the fore soon enough, and so it proved. Exploiting the seemingly relentless promptings of Cesc Fabregas in midfield, the Dutchman was the chief tormentor with two goals, as Arsenal simply toyed with West Ham at Upton Park in their 3-0 win.

Van Persie’s brace and impressive showing has seen him blink decisively on the radar tonight; his emergence as Arsenal’s new attacking consideration now threatens to banish the Fabregas vs Samir Nasri debate to sideshow status.

Arsenal have a run of exceptionally kind fixtures – they have a dream double fixture in Gameweek 27 and this evening we saw them reinstated as potentially the most devastating attack force in the league. Fantasy Managers will urgently need reminding of Van Persie’s propensity to pick up injuries in order to help resist what already appears to be a considerable pull towards the 9.6 valued striker.

Nasri owners will hope that this was simply Van Persie’s turn in the sun; that their man will be able to soon reinstate himself as Arsenal’s key goal threat. Investors in Fabregas meanwhile will be downbeat having watched Van Persie step up to their man’s spot-kick duties and claim the Arsenal skipper’s customary 3 Bonus Points.

The solution to such a problem is simple – buy in Van Persie and cover more bases. You can throw around talk of “eggs” and “one” basket, but on tonight’s evidence, Arsenal have the tools to exploit their forthcoming fixtures in devastating style and Van Persie looks the sharpest in the box.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I know it's similar to all of your WC teams, but anyway I want to write down my first thoughts:

    Habsi (Begovic)
    Evatt Paintsil Rafael (Coleman Djourou)
    N'Zog Adam Fabs Nani (VdV)
    Torres Berbatov RVP

    What do you think?

    Help needed!

I planned on having van persie for just this week and then back again for his dgw. I was due to replace him with rooney for next week however his lovely 16 points has made me think.

    Should i:
    A) swap him out for rooney
    B) keep RVP and get berbatov instead of carroll (who is due to drop again) and have a team of:

    Hart Stockdale
    Rafael Kelly Huth Bardsley Djourou
    Nani VDV Fabregas Adam Barton
    Tevez Berba Van persie

These double gameweeks are turning out to be more annoying than anything. I want RVP for this week coming, if he doesn't pick up any injuries in training, but I don't particularly want to get rid of berbs/tevez or torres right now with the DGWs. Then again, is Torres really going to do much.

Yes I'd say it's likely he will play (dalglish has shown he wants to see youngsters play, also giving shelvey a lot of game time), but I think well only really know after tomorrows game. I think if Kelly starts tomorrow and the result is good, then I'd imagine he should be relatively safe option. He's good in the air off corners too and does get down the wing a lot as well. At 4.2 it's a good price, if he plays.

My current strikers are Tevez, Drogba and Torres. Im going to swap Drogba for Rooney this week, but also want to get RVP.

Is it stupid taking a dgwk player for another, very reluctant to drop tevez or torres!

Already have Vidic and only other manc defender i'd get is rafael, the defender move is only to fund the strikers.. Just thinking about it now, Berba or RVP would have to score 8 just to break even (because i'd be replacing a dgwk player)

I couldn't put up with him anymore, 13.2 -> 12.3 and lots of 2 pt game weeks, so I switched him to RVP this week, thank god. 16 points was as many as Drogba scored weeks 8-15. Held him way too long, at this point I'd rather have Tevez, RVP, Rooney, even Rodallega, or Carroll his first GW back.

I was wondering the night before the game: Adam is doing well, WBA have an atrocious home record, Blackpool are riding high from winning the first double over liverpool since the 40's and RVP is doing well but otherwise unproven apart from his history. Make Adam the captain right? But I saw RVP on my line just happen to be in the #10 spot, my lucky number and his jersey number. I'll take that as a good sign and make him captain. I got 32 points from RVP for it.

No chelsea players for the first time this season. I'm gambling on their scolariesque decline continuing........

rooney- I reckon he'll play a game and a half if he is indeed fit. Possibly two if united are struggling for a win in both.....

    Should I do:

    A) tevez>Rooney (no hit)
    B) welbeck>berbatov and reina>stockdale (4pt hit)
    C) welbeck>berbatov and vdv>nzogbia (4pt hit)

Really want either berba or Rooney but not sure about ditching tevez now, plus vdv has 2 tough away games so surely nzog will outscore him?

    Thanks
