While Carlos Tevez left his Fantasy owners feeling warm and smug once again – Robin Van Persie waltzed gracefully back onto the scene this evening to turn heads and leave even Tevez owners pondering their striking options.

Re-introduced back into the Gunners lineup back in Gameweek 21, we all knew Van Persie’s qualities. It seemed inevitable that they would bring him to the fore soon enough, and so it proved. Exploiting the seemingly relentless promptings of Cesc Fabregas in midfield, the Dutchman was the chief tormentor with two goals, as Arsenal simply toyed with West Ham at Upton Park in their 3-0 win.

Van Persie’s brace and impressive showing has seen him blink decisively on the radar tonight; his emergence as Arsenal’s new attacking consideration now threatens to banish the Fabregas vs Samir Nasri debate to sideshow status.

Arsenal have a run of exceptionally kind fixtures – they have a dream double fixture in Gameweek 27 and this evening we saw them reinstated as potentially the most devastating attack force in the league. Fantasy Managers will urgently need reminding of Van Persie’s propensity to pick up injuries in order to help resist what already appears to be a considerable pull towards the 9.6 valued striker.

Nasri owners will hope that this was simply Van Persie’s turn in the sun; that their man will be able to soon reinstate himself as Arsenal’s key goal threat. Investors in Fabregas meanwhile will be downbeat having watched Van Persie step up to their man’s spot-kick duties and claim the Arsenal skipper’s customary 3 Bonus Points.

The solution to such a problem is simple – buy in Van Persie and cover more bases. You can throw around talk of “eggs” and “one” basket, but on tonight’s evidence, Arsenal have the tools to exploit their forthcoming fixtures in devastating style and Van Persie looks the sharpest in the box.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

      Identical front 8!

I've already pressed the wc button and so far I'm set up as follows for gw 24(taking in to account future fixtures:

      Kingson/(Al Habsi)
      Vidic/Ivanovic/Evatt(Djourou/Carr)
      Nani/VDV/Adam/Nzog/Fabs
      Rooney/Tevez(Odemwingie)

I now have the answer. Berbs or Roo get severely knackered tomorrow and I ship Carroll for Hernandez. problem solved.

My team isn't very good for the DGW but a 4 point hit should make it respectable. I'll have a similar team to you with the -4 apart from your keeper vs Foster, Ivanovic vs Coleman probably & N'Zog vs a cheapie DGW striker.

Yes I wasn't happy with mine for the next game and my defence has been too weak. Presumably you'll bring in Rooney for Drog and I guess you'll keep Rafael (vs Vidic for me)-just a question mark over possible rotation

Is an 8pt hit a good idea in this case?

In RVP,Nani,Rafael - Out Drogba, Bale, Shawcross

    Current team for this week
    Gordon
    G.Johnson, Coleman, Bosingwa
    Kuyt, Bale, Adam, Vaughan
    Tevez, Rooney Drogba
    Bench Carson, Ferguson, Simpson, Shawcross

Love the technique, or lack of, in Baird's goal... That never should have gone in like it did!

Would the 4 point hit mean that you'll be benching Tevez/VDV?

No, I will have to bench Carroll most probably. At the moment the team would be:

        Gordon
        Vidic Coleman Crainey
        Nasri VDV Nzog Adam Nani
        Tevez xxx

which is not that bad, but I'm scared of Fabregas. The only way to afford him would be Drogba to Berbatov and Nasri to Fabregas, with Konchesky on the bench.

Well...see if Konchesky plays tomorrow. If he does, great, you have him for Pool's double. If not, 4 point hit sounds fair enough if you're bringing in a double gameweeker. Thats my plan anyway.

Liverpool defence has not been great. Cant guarantee that you would make more than 4 points on Reina, which means you would only break even on your hit.

I would play Gordon for both weeks.

    Wenger says Fabianski's No.1 spot is safe, f*ck! 😕

Would be interesting if Fabianski was out for 3 months, Szczesny 1st choice with either reserve keeper Shea becoming 2nd choice or Mannone being recalled from his loan deal 😛

I know it's early but which of these do you like the look of for next GW?

    1) Tevez & Carroll > Rooney & DJCampbell/AJohnson/Rodallega
    2) Carroll & VDV > Rooney & Ferguson
    3) Tevez & Brunt > Rooney & Dempsey/NZog
    4) Carroll & VDV & Kolarov > Rooney & NZog & Evatt/Stam/Gohouri

I got 2 freebies so only 4) would be for a hit. I quite like the look of 2) as it allows me to keep Tevez and i'd probably just bench Ferguson.

    Team at the mo is:
    Jussi
    Samba Rafael Hangeland
    Nasri Nani Adam VDV Brunt
    Torres Tevez
    SUBS: Foster, Kolarov, Bardsley, Carroll

    Ta lads...

Not really too keen on any of them if I'm honest mate. Wouldn't get rid of VdV, number one if any as long as you plan on getting Tevez back as soon as. I'd get Rodallega in also.. could of had a hatrick today!

Hmmmm maybe i should look at working RVP into my team. I was going to wait and WC him in for GW27 but maybe he can't wait till then. You got Tevez? If so what are you doing with him? I know he has back-to-back away games coming up and no DGWs but he could still rack up plenty of points against your midland mates

Really undecided with Tevez if I'm honest.. think I might keep him.

Berbatov I don't think is a certain starter and Rooney has shown no form at all and Birmingham normally keep it quite tight at OT. So think I'm just going to go with Nani and Rafael of Utd.

          You definitely wildcarding GW27?

Not definitely but probably. Seeing as i've got 2 freebies this week it seems foolish to use my WC when i should be able to field a decent team. GW27 looks good to load up on Arsenal, Birmingham, Blackpool and Albion players.

My transfer plans above are all really centred around Rooney. If i'm not impressed tomorrow then i may have to go back to the drawing board!

Weird someone calling us Albion on here, only people in the Midlands normally call us that! 😀

A lot depends on tomorrows games for me, whether I wildcard or not basically.. I actually wouldn't mind if Torres got injured tomorrow, after he scores obviously but I don't want to keep him but seeing as I've had him so long it seems very foolish getting rid before his double.

Not really, it's more East Midlands I suppose, Coventry, Leicester etc.

Tomorrow is going to be epic, looking forward to the Liverpool game more than any of the others. I fancy Liverpool and having Torres & Johnson is a bit of a differential..

Need to sell Konch for a 4.4m or less def. Choices are Bramble (bad fixtures coming up), Walker (risky, but DGW24, attacking full back), Djourou (rotation risk).

    Rest of def is:
    Foster
    Rafael, Kolarov, Skrtel, Coleman

Will be WCing in GW26 or 27, cheers.

Thought about him, but already got Skrtel and gone off the idea of 2 Liverpool defs - didn't work for me in the last double GW. Bramble has some terrible fixtures, like the idea of a punt on Walker, but Djourou might be the best bet.
