While Carlos Tevez left his Fantasy owners feeling warm and smug once again – Robin Van Persie waltzed gracefully back onto the scene this evening to turn heads and leave even Tevez owners pondering their striking options.

Re-introduced back into the Gunners lineup back in Gameweek 21, we all knew Van Persie’s qualities. It seemed inevitable that they would bring him to the fore soon enough, and so it proved. Exploiting the seemingly relentless promptings of Cesc Fabregas in midfield, the Dutchman was the chief tormentor with two goals, as Arsenal simply toyed with West Ham at Upton Park in their 3-0 win.

Van Persie’s brace and impressive showing has seen him blink decisively on the radar tonight; his emergence as Arsenal’s new attacking consideration now threatens to banish the Fabregas vs Samir Nasri debate to sideshow status.

Arsenal have a run of exceptionally kind fixtures – they have a dream double fixture in Gameweek 27 and this evening we saw them reinstated as potentially the most devastating attack force in the league. Fantasy Managers will urgently need reminding of Van Persie’s propensity to pick up injuries in order to help resist what already appears to be a considerable pull towards the 9.6 valued striker.

Nasri owners will hope that this was simply Van Persie’s turn in the sun; that their man will be able to soon reinstate himself as Arsenal’s key goal threat. Investors in Fabregas meanwhile will be downbeat having watched Van Persie step up to their man’s spot-kick duties and claim the Arsenal skipper’s customary 3 Bonus Points.

The solution to such a problem is simple – buy in Van Persie and cover more bases. You can throw around talk of “eggs” and “one” basket, but on tonight’s evidence, Arsenal have the tools to exploit their forthcoming fixtures in devastating style and Van Persie looks the sharpest in the box.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Sad news today, everyone...Elmander The Moose played his last game for me. I put him in to give him a chance to go out in a blaze of glory, but he stayed quiet and morose. However, as one light fades, another rises and glows...The name of that light? Rodallega The Ram...A man who lives to dream. A man with hope. A man with glory in his eyes and twinkling stars in his toes.

I once came across a man who too had glory in his eyes. He went by the name of aleksander. I soon suspected that the shiny glisten in his eyes was likely due to narcotics abuse, as it seemed he would run around the fields aimlessly. Ah, aleksander. I remember him well, aleksander kolorov.

Have 0.3m in the bank - with the below team...

    Stockdale, (Foster)
    Rafael, Kelly, Coleman, (Djourou), (Bosingwa)
    Nani, Lampard, Nasri, N’Zogbia (VDV)
    Tevez, RVP, DJ Campbell

are there any better transfers than Tevez -> Rooney this week?

I have WCd and a little struggle - mainly with defensive positions. With Aston Villa, Fulham, Liverpool and Wigan amongst the DGWs it is hard to justify going over the top with players from those teams. (Blackpool and ManU a little different)

    GW23
    Foster (Krul)
    Huth Kolarov Bardsley (Skrtel Simpson)
    Nani Fabs VdV Nasri Adam
    Tevez Elmander (Carroll)

    Have already done:
    Krul->Begovic
    Kolarov->Rafael

Am a bit uncertain as to which 3 Arsenal players get.
Obviously I will keep Fabs. The other 2 spots could be Djourou, Nasri, RvP. (Maybe the first two and go Berbatov->RvP between GW25->27)

    DGW in caps

    Possible team after WC:
    Foster Begovic
    RAFAEL Djourou SKRTEL (Coleman Simpson)
    NANI VdV ADAM Fabs Nasri
    Tevez BERBATOV (Carroll)

Which only gives me 5 DGWs. Not sold on the defence (Fulham in?) and keeping Nasri (N'Zogbia in?) and Carroll (will only lose 0.2 and need to get back in before GW27).

I think it will be a bit of thinking between now and lockout.

You are right, EpicFAIL. If you want to play this game the right way, it's a relatively good idea to pick players who play games. This is because the players who play games are able to get points. Points are good because they help you get other stuff that is good, too.

Right again! Points do mean prizes, but if you don't get enough points then the prizes aren't so great. Things like 'pride', 'respect', 'warm-feelings' are good, but not quite as tangible as ONE MILLION DOLLARS! However, the people who win ONE MILLION DOLLARS are not normal people. They are made from a super breed; they are a half-alien, half-human creation that the god of the Christians believe is an abomination. Buddha is less judgemental, so seek solace in him.

A big load of shit, but I'm think he has to wait for my wildcard week - probably next next week. I took a 4 point hit to get in Stockdale and Rodallega The Ram, so it's possible the wildcard will be slapped down this week, but my team is kinda full at the moment...FULL OF JUNK! HAHAHAHAHA! I mean that in a street kinda way...You know, "Check out the junk on her..." That kind of junk.

I find it surprising that he can't make the team, as he adds genuine threat down the wing. I'm not sure what more he could do to convince houlier otherwise! Even his cameo against Chelsea, about 4 minutes, he whipped in a cracking ball for the equaliser. He deserves a starting place imo

    discuss:

what the F is up with Adam and the bonus point judges?

can he go a game without getting a few. win/lose/draw. case in point today. lost to west brom (not a top team) and they say, here you go, there one bonus point mate. take care. see you next week for a bit more of that

I heard that he makes butterfly eyes at them. They always give sexy bonus points to players that are popular. They think it's a sexy thing to do.

A fair amount of Blackpool's link up play goes through him. He's very influential in that respect.

true. he is the lynch pin of Bpool. really a good point about the strength of fantasy football. a good/great player in a relegation/crap team, is way better than a decent/meh player at a good team.

        bpool having a good season.

but let's stop the mandatory bonus points for Adam...

F*cked off with the Zog now. First he gets sent off. I keep faith with him, got a good run of fixtures when he's back. Price drops by 0.2 as well. This is the game he was supposed to start repaying my faith. And he gets me a bleeding 2 pointer? Main rival has Dempsey in the same game who cleans up all the bonus for an 8 pointer. Damn!!

Alright, got two free transfers this coming GW. Considering a couple of moves

    Malouda to Dempsey or N'Zogbia
    Elmander to RVP

    Thoughts?

Plan to maybe wildcard the week after I think

I've got Nani and Rafael as Man Utd cover.. Here's the rest of my team:

        Foster Robinson
        Hangeland Rafael Toure Elmo Jara
        Nani Malouda Nasri VDV Adam
        Drogba Elmander Carroll

I think it's time for Elmander to go, he's slowed down a bit lately.. RVP looks sharp again with good fixtures to come

I assume you're playing WC same time as me, once the GW26 deadline has passed and ready for GW27?

I think that's the time to get most potential from the WC and only 11 GWs to plan for.

    Hart, Foster

    DJ Campbell, Tevez, Carroll

    Thoughts and suggestions for alternatives?

Better options than Pantsil I think.

Carroll is too soon to bring in too. Berbatov for DGW could be good.

2 many cheap strikers. do at least two good strikers and one cheap. carroll out as no double game?

fabs and nasri overkill in mid. RVP is a better option with Fabs.

      otherwise looks fine

My wc team for gw 24 :
    Foster begovic
    Huth rafael terry foley djourou
    adam nani vdv yaya fabregas
    berb Rvp Lovenkrands

personally i think yaya is better than zog as he is gurantee starter and smooth player for man city.......
Zog is a card player going to min most of times......

Looking at your team on the link I wouldn't be playing your WC yet. I'd wait until before GW27.

Your team looks semi-decent and a free transfer (or 2) would suffice.

My thoughts are that Nasri's value will decrease now Fabs is back. He's a class player and will still score well odd weeks, but for consistent returns and value for money (FPL terms only) I think his peak has been and gone for the season.

    my side at the moment

    Foster (Jussi)
    Kolarov, Rafael, Bardsley (Carr, Foley)
    Nani, Nasri, VDV, Adam, Barton
    Drogba, Tevez (Carroll)

1.6 left and 2 frees this week

I'm aiming to offload Drogba and Kolarov. Couple of DGW players I'm looking at but unfortunetly nothing standouts in defence. Looking at bringing Torres in depending on what happens today. Not sure who to replace Kolarov with..
