With the free wildcard window well and truly open, there’s a lot more to ponder this week for us fantasy mangers. If you’ve already succumbed and activated yours, then there is just over an hour to make any final tinkering. If, like me, you have resisted, then the normal ritual applies (or do as I, and close your eyes and pray this week).

Whatever you situation, the Saturday Surgery is here to take you through the deadline…

As always, there are some useful places on the site to visit this morning, particularly if you’re yet to finalise your plans. The Team News section houses all the predicted line-ups for this weekend. Check out the Injuries and Bans page to see how long your fantasy stars are absent for. Last night’s Scout Picks are also worth a gander, with prospective players for this upcoming gameweek highlighted.

Lastly, don’t forgot to consider this week’s Captain’s Poll, which you’ll find on the middle column of the site’s home page. The people have spoken, and at the top this week is Carlos Tevez with a comprehensive 37% of the total votes.

    anyone else notice birmingham have a TRIPLE gameweek in gw27??

    with bentley in,and keane on the way,they could be a tasty team to have 3-4 players from in gw27. Im thinking Foster,Ridgewell/Ferguson,Bentley or Keane if he hits the ground running.

    One more opinion of doubling players from the same club on the same position.

    While the most common pairs are VdV-Bale and Febs-Nasri, I’ve decided to have MU defensive pair: Vidić-Rafael.

    For the last five GWs this has been the case because I saw no better option of having 3 MU players (i.e. Nani-Rafael-Vidić) – Rooney lacking form, Berba somewhow unable to win my trust.

    Moreover, I plan to keep the MU pair after my WC is played (GW26) as I gamble on MU's clean sheets. However, as soon as Rooney regains his form, I will think of bringing him in (with Vidić probably making way).

    My attacking line has been unchanged for quite long now – Tevez, Drogba, Carroll. I’m definitely keeping Carroll, I also prefer to keep Drogba as my only CFC coverage but if he shows nothing good in January, he will be the one making way up front.

    I wonder what your impressions are on keeping this MU defensive duo.

    I wouldn't play both tomorrow ( I am not playing Rafael so no Man U defenders at all). It could pay off in the long run though, however I have never been a fan of doubling up defenders. I had both VDV and Bale for the first part of the season so not completely against the concept.

            match fit doesn't mean too much. if your fit and train and have the quality you will still have an impact. players come back from injury who are not match fit but still play and do well. its an excuse for bad performances. you only get match fit by playing so you have to start somewhere.

            The main reason I played the WC was so I could get in Lampard for this fixture as I have a feeling he could run up a massive score this week.

            I had to sacrifice Tevez to accommodate Lamps, and Dzeko seems like a decent punt.

            Adds a bit of excitement to an otherwise dull season!

                    Garg - It starts with Wenger and filters down through his players and eventually to the fans as an encompassing mentality. They still think they are the invincibles, so when they get beaten (regularly now) it manifests itself in arrogance and finger pointing which is why i love to loath them so much.         It's not about league tables it's about money and clubs with a higher status who should gaurantee he stays in the prem. Blackpool as entertaining can't give him that.
