With the free wildcard window well and truly open, there’s a lot more to ponder this week for us fantasy mangers. If you’ve already succumbed and activated yours, then there is just over an hour to make any final tinkering. If, like me, you have resisted, then the normal ritual applies (or do as I, and close your eyes and pray this week).

Whatever you situation, the Saturday Surgery is here to take you through the deadline…

As always, there are some useful places on the site to visit this morning, particularly if you’re yet to finalise your plans. The Team News section houses all the predicted line-ups for this weekend. Check out the Injuries and Bans page to see how long your fantasy stars are absent for. Last night’s Scout Picks are also worth a gander, with prospective players for this upcoming gameweek highlighted.

Lastly, don’t forgot to consider this week’s Captain’s Poll, which you’ll find on the middle column of the site’s home page. The people have spoken, and at the top this week is Carlos Tevez with a comprehensive 37% of the total votes.

Akers Richard or Akers, as he is known, has been regularly haunting this site since July 2008. He is young and foolish, take what he says with a pinch of salt. Follow them on Twitter

If Essien and Drogba are dropped, I sincerely hope Blackburn get something out of the game and that complete douche Ancelotti gets the axe.

    From BBC's live text:

1354: That early Man City team news is courtesy of coach David Platt, speaking to BBC Radio 5 live. He says Carlos Tevez will have to filter out to the left-hand side as a result of Edin Dzeko's arrival in the team. Upon being asked whether City would sign anyone else in January, Platt replied: "You're asking the wrong person. If we ended the month with the squad we've got now, we'd be very happy."

If Dzeko plays down the middle surely he's the only option from City?

No need to raise value from now on. Usually raise value in the first half of the season then use that value to bring the best players in for the most points.

Yeah yeah, he did win the ball and if it was 1990 and he was called Julian Dicks he would have been praised for it. But its not, and thankfully he isnt Julian Dicks. Cant say the outcome is pleasing though, probably means Smith v Sunderland 😕

Selling Kolarov last week is more annoying now. Had to do it to get a defence out though.

He'll get a cleanie/goal today though, it WILL happen. In line with the taken off on 58/sent off for both City cleanies when I had him.
