Chelsea ended a run of six away matches without a win by inflicting another mauling on Bolton in front of their own fans. Didier Drogba’s “worldie” strike accompanied goals from Nicolas Anelka, Ramires and Florent Malouda, as Chelsea’s forgotten attacking talent put Fantasy Managers on alert with an emphatic display.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side lined up without Frank Lampard in midfield – he was left behind nursing a calf injury but will be expected to return for the trip to Sunderland in Gameweek 25. Mikel made his return to the midfield following to compensate and slotted in alongside Michael Essien and Ramires.

Didier Drogba’s 30-yard stunner was just his second goal in his last 6 league starts, while his maximum 3 Bonus Points was his first since Gameweek 3. It provided further evidence that the Ivorian was gradually edging back to something like his best form, just in time to join the party as the competition for places in our Fantasy forward line heats up. Drogba’s double Gameweek 28 fixtures offer two Stamford Bridge encounters with United and Birmingham and could see interest in him revived. Drogba has dropped to a season low 12.2 in the Fantasy Premier League game.

Florent Malouda’s strike was his second in 5 games and took him to 9 for the season. Significantly, he earned further Bonus Points and has now gathered 8 in those previous 5 matches. Malouda is surely another who must be considered for Chelsea‘s double and, with his price and ownership falling dramatically of late, he offers a potential differential in the coming weeks.

The Chelsea back four kept their third clean sheet in 5 matches and once again Jose Bosingwa provided good value with fourth start over those 5 games. At 5.4, the Portuguese right-back continues to offer the cheapest route to Chelsea’s defensive returns, although with a move for Benfica’s David Luiz looking immanent, his place could come under threat in the coming weeks with Branislav Ivanovic always an option at right-back.

Bolton’s miserable run of form continues as they slipped to a fifth defeat in 8 games, their fourth in the last 5. Owen Coyle’s side have scored just 2 goals in those 5 games as Kevin Davies and Johan Elmander continue to struggle to find the net following an outstanding start to the season. The home clash with Wolves in Gameweek 25 now looks vital as the Trotters looks to halt the slide down the table. Fantasy Managers will have surely long since given up on Bolton as a source of Fantasy points.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    GW28 and onwards...

    Foster / Cech

    Bosingwa / Rafael / Coleman / Kolarov / Kelly

Nani / Cahill / Yaya Toure / Walcott / Malouda

Torres / Carroll (if fit) / Berbatov (probs only for GW28 double) then RVP

    tada?

That's very, very close to my intended post-WC team. Decision time between VdV and Malouda.
Would also be tempted to go with Drogba ahead of Torres if you can afford that.

I really think Liverpool are kicking on now so I'm a bit unsure on dropping Torres as I can't see anyone else worth replacing him with in midfield etc for value once Gerrard is back. Meireles might have done great without him but I think with Gerrard back his returns will suffer. Hopefully Malouda will cover massive Chelsea scores! Likewise hopefully Yaya will cover Tevez etc etc

I think the only reason I'm dropping VDV is to cover my bases.

He does terrible, no spurs CL football next year but I didn't have him in my FF team...

I think people on here need to admit the Fabregas of last year is gone and probably won't emerge again.

Last year Nasri and RVP were injured and Walcott was shit. Now they're all firing and are more natural goalscorers then Fab. Fab had to go get the goals last year but Arsenal are better when he plays deeper, so expect his points to be comparable to the other 3's (which will still be great, but not better value for money.

did you see how many chances he had to score? he ha it all, the creator, can arrive late in the box and even bang them in with a one 2, plus all the assist potential, the only points deficiency he will have is lack of freekicks and penalties

fabregas had 4 shots compared to nasri and walcott 3 (i agree)

twice as many passes as both

8 through balls compared to 1 for the later 2

bonus points are still in the bag for fabregas unless RVP bangs a brace or better

perfect combination is RVP and fabregas and then you dont have to worry about anyone else, they both can perform against ANY team and not really a rotation risk

Ive Nasri aswell so its about 30% of mine! Was hoping for a big pay off against Wigan, with the caldwells at the back, im still not sure how they only got 3. Was a punt, reasonably happy. Had Dempsey in for Nasri on friday but never pulled the trigger.

Heard Chelsea were decent this evening, but were Bolton pretty rotten to help make Chelsea look good? Ive had Chelsea coverage all season barring this gw, dont really see me going back anytime soon. Guess will wait and see if they start stringing some results together

Hmm, anyone left in the FPL cup up against someone who's not changed their team all season? I am, and I'm not in a great position - 79-59 down with Nani Rafael Rooney Torres Rodallega vs. his Berabtov(c). I reckon if Berbatov doesn't play I've got a pretty good chance, but if not I'm sunk!

(I don't really care about the FPL cup, just pretty depressing to lose in the 7th round to someone not paying attention :P)

no just in a h2h for the first time and getting shat on by lucky bastards two weeks in a row. first by a team that only had players w/blue kits (lost 66-65), now by a team ranked in the millions i think, but who scored 90+ so far this gw.

i know what you meant, just having a bit of fun. i'm 28 in april, so getting up there. problem is, i don't want to put money in glazer's pockets. i'd love to go to the away matches though and check out an fc united match and just go to the pubs for the home ones.

Please don't just waltz up to Old Trafford and expect them to hand out a season ticket, even if you have the required number of beer tokens. The waiting list for season tickets is/was immense. The Glazers' lack of popularity may have shortened it somewhat, but I would still expect the waiting time to be measured in years.

Join the supporters club, enter ballots for tickets, you will almost always get them for mid-week European matches, and get your fair share for weekends too.

                Good luck

Yeah i suggested a while back that the speed at which the transfers in/out are accumulated dictates whether it needs to get to 100% before a change occurs. E.g if it is a gradual steady rise in transfers it has to get to around 100% to change if lots of transfers have been made over a short period of time it will go up as soon as the fpl site deems the player in question to have gained/lost enough popularity. I was resoundingly laughed out of town for suggesting this but i think theres logic and vague unverified evidence that this is the case. Its not an exact science.

There are no hard and fast 'rules' for price changes/protection periods.

Options are (only for two GWs):

Fruitfull disscussion we had the other day regarding Adam so something to read it:

"Adam won’t be the next Gerrard and hasn’t got the athleticism of Meireles, but he embodies the spirit that Liverpool so desperately need to recapture. If he doesn’t get the move he won’t be spitting his dummy out on Twitter; he’ll do as his forbears would have done and get on with it. Honest moral values were traded off for power, pace and hype long ago, but lest we forget: a working class hero is something to be."

You could save the transfer, use it next week, and then have 3 frees for DGW27.

Sunderland could still test Chelsea at the Stadium of Light.

Dempsey at least I think is worth sticking with.
