Fulham have this afternoon confirmed the loan signing of Chelsea’s 19-year old French forward Gael Kakuta on a season long loan.

Kakuta has made 5 appearances for Chelsea this season, amassing just 123 minutes of pitch time. His opportunities will surely be more frequent at Craven Cottage however, as Mark Hughes desperately searches for attacking options and goals with Bobby Zamora sidelined, to ease the pressure on converted midfielder Clint Dempsey.

At first glance the move seems of little interest to Fantasy Managers, until you consider that Kakuta, a left-winger or striker, is available in the Fantasy Premier League game as a midfielder and is priced at 5.4.

It remains to be seen if Kakuta can offer any potential as an “out of position” prospect. We first have to be sure that he can hold down regular starts in Fulham’s lineup and then also consider his likely impact given that Fulham have possibly the most difficult run-in of any Premier League club.

We also have to assess the effect of his arrival on Fulham’s existing squad members. You would presume that Damien Duff would immediately come under threat, but much depends on how Hughes looks to utilise Kakuta’s talents. He will be one to simmer under the Watchlist for the time being while we look on from afar.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Lost on previous post....

I’m hoping there will be a lot of people getting rid of Fabs, Nani, Tevez, VDV this week after such a high scoring week and not huge scores from them.

Said it before but for me this game is all about actually backing the players you’ve gone with. For example if berbs and co have a poor game this week and the players above do well then i will be back up there. If i got rid of these players for berbs and co i’d only be matching everyone elses scores having missed out on theri big points hauls.

I got these players in because i think they have the best prospects of scoring well in any given week, just because they didn’t this week doesn’t change that imo.

So is your strategy to stick with your team (barring injuries)?

I had Drogs and Malouda for 12 weeks (their bad spell), sometimes wonder if I shoulda stuck with them.

Surely playing the fixtures (especially DGWs) is the way to go?

I have certain players that stay regardless of fixtures and form. That leaves me the remaining squad places to fill with players in form and with good fixtures.

So in my side I have Drogba, Terry, VDV, Nani, Tevez and until now Nasri.

Obviously I can transfer out a player if i want to, but as a rule these players stay.

Playing the fixtures to a certain extent.

My strategy this year has been to build my team aroudn a core of players and then have a couple of floating places that i play the fixtures with.

        So my midfield has been
Nasri, Fabs, VDV, Nani + other

        Forward
        tevez, Carrol + other

What i mean in general is that for the most part i try to put faith in what i've got in the hop they'll come good. I look at fixtures, but prefer to look at them over 5 gameweeks than over 1, if you see what i mean.

I just think it's so hard to predict the outcome of one particular gameweek, but over 5 the player that should score well usually does.

Jumping ship everytime something doesn't work out right away usually results in missing out on all the big points in my experience

the flipside is the double gwks though. all the people who took the hits to bring in the likes of berbatov and dempsey rvp have scored huge this week. catching their rivals or gaining a huge lead. its all about seeing and seizing the opportunity when its there and having a strong core team

I totally agree. There's no point chasing past performance. I wish I had Berba's big haul from the double but I can't have it. Whether I bring him in or not, I can't benefit from what he's done - only by what he'll do.

i agree to a certain point. when yuou buy a player like drogb a or rooney and they on such a bad slump of form, then you have to consider other options, especially when your rivals are leaving you behind

Yeah definitely. Of course there are exceptions.

I suppose i mean with people talking about getting rid of players like Nani, Nasri, VDV and Tevez - i think that's probably premature.

They've not been on bad form, just had a bad week - and could have easily had pretty big hauls. Most important is that they're still playing well.

Cocoon I agree with you to a certain extent. I shall definitely be keeping hold of fab, nasri, nani vdv tevez, however I also believe that sometimes you have to admit you got it wrong. For example I messed up putting Rooney in this week and I shall be jumping on (albeit a bit late) the RVP bandwagon straight away! 90% sure of doing that but what do you reckon?

        I agree with Kroky.

The secret is to know when its more than just a player having a bad couple of games and when its a slump.

You can keep good players through blips, but it will kill you if you hold on to them during a slump. Drogba, Rooney and Torres have been slump players this season, whereas Tevez and Nani fit the blip description.

You also need to jump on hot streaks very quickly as they can be a rich source of points over a short spell. Players like Nasri and Gamst Pedersen have been got streak players recently.

Once the hot streak is over with this type of player, though, the shiny horse drawn carriage turns into a rotten pumpkin very quickly.

They'd have to try and throw the semi yet leave a stong enough team to win the 3rd/4th place play of.

It'd require immense strategy! Infact I quite like the sound of it!

The strategy would be take massive points hits in the semi to set your team up perfectly for the play-off.

Of course, you'd have to be a member first so that rules me out.

    Vidic, Samba, Hangelaand, Barsley, Kolarov

Any suggestions? I like the way my teams looks atm, still haven't used wildcard though.

Well, I have a steak in the fridge, so it's either that, tuna pasta, or the TTD pizza I have (but don't tell MMW).

I should have snapped up some of the Asparagus I saw on offer yesterday TBH.

Oh, and I'm going to make potato salad, but I'll take that to work as a packed lunch

            Fair enough.

I found the script and writing really clever. Alot of it appealled to me in the same way that stuff like Breaking Bad does.

Duchovny is a complete hero in it.

wsorry loads, got dragged away ther for a bit after my londwindedness last topic. Agreed on keys, such a knob. The way he kept saying smash it, basically sounding like one of those guys who wouldn't have a clue what to do with a bird. i think thats why they all looked uncomfortable in the clip, in that, noone talks about that shit really, especially ina studio that would be full of runners and helpers etc. very very idiotic, seems desperate to prove himself keys.

Anyway, in that clip, did anyone notice Souness giving him a little tap when he was at redknapp saying he'd be hanging out the back of it? I think that basically means SOuness saw redknapp getting uncomfortable, and that he couldnt defend himself. So redknapp probably is the vacuous automaton with a skinny tie that he seems to be.

I'd still take Gray over Redknapp on tv any day of the week

tis true though, SOOP, if youre gonna comment on everything, at least make it something relevant. I don't know why, but saying he meant to put his feet somewhere is really really annoying, when theres obviously alot more to it cos we're all talking about it. Grow up kiddo.

Is what I'm saying any less relevant? I just listened to it, and I still don't understand what they're on about.

Are they talking about his wife, Louise Redknapp? with whom he has obviously had sex with?

And what does hanging out the back got to do with it?

My point about his ridiculous body language still stands.

I thought the kick was more of a "remember where you are you tard" kind of kick. I agree though, it was so uncomfortable and cringey to see him talking like that, totally agree that Keysy almost seems asexual and as a result that kindof talk sounds like he is the pre-teen at the playground trying to be cool in front of the older kids, very very uncomfortable to watch.

I have seen a different side to him in those clips, I always thought he seemed like a shy and reserved tipe guy, good fun, the clips show a more evil side to him, putting his feet up like that and talking like that make him look like an idiot.

Attila and those that were talking about playing the WC in gameweek 26 to get 2 freebies for 27....

This was my plan, but i'm not so sure about it right now. We're all saving our WC's because we think week 27 will be another big scoring one right?

I've been thinking it might make alot of difference to be on the WC that week so any changes don't screw it up, i.e. injuries, team news, form etc. you will want to be right on the money with it to make the most out of week 27?

I'm not totally sold either way yet. Transfer deadline should have passed so that shouldn't be an issue - but might be worth seeing how some fit in.

Would take bad luck to have things significantly alter i just might hold fire just in case to be absolutely sure for week 27!

Might depend on those fixture postponements too i guess. If Arsenal play in same week afterall then not really an issue.

Think he means use in GW26 so you don't need to make a transfer in GW27 leaving 2 for GW28.

That's what I mean at least, even though I probably didn't make it clear!

Yeah, sorry the two freebies in initial post should be for 28.

Totally confused everyone and myself i think.

What i mean is you could either play it pre GW27 (latest time), or pre week 26 and get two freebies for GW 28 (after all the doubles to get rid of the chuff).

Just saying that playing it pre GW26 might be a bit of an error if things go nuts up that gameweek.

Yep with ya. To be honest I think you're right about saving it, if I had a healthy lead I might risk it, but its not worth it when it is so vital.

Cocoon nice observation, I went throw that too, but a lot of WC GW 24 are loaded on Liv players and Ful players. The thing is that that teams are having bad fixtures in GW 26 and Eve (Cahill) are having great ones. City too if you are not loaded on City players so its a chance to cut some lead. Also I am not assured on the potential in wol for United.

Also GW 28 with two potential games off and another double? We could have 2 freebies and cover Che for that game and I really hope that Ars will miss GW 28. Everybody will don't know what to do with their Ars/Tot assets and we will profit. Having Malouda or Drogba GW 28 is huge captaincy potential IMO.

SO a lot of pro for GW 26. I am doing it. Only my WBA player and Bir defenders maybe will be on the bench.Others that players like for GW 27 have good fixtures.

Did I persuade you lads or everybody keeping it until the last moment?

              http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leet

"Leet (or "1337"), also known as eleet or leetspeak, is an alternative alphabet for the English language that is used primarily on the Internet.

The term leet is also used as an adjective to describe formidable prowess or accomplishment"

As a gamer, hitting the exact 1337 mark would be one of my main accomplishments of an FPL season 😀

Yeah that is a good point I guess. I was already top (well 2nd but the guy in first wasn't playing for money) before this gameweek and scoring highly has increased my points total.

The main reason for using in GW26 was to make the most of GW27 whilst also giving me the option of changing for GW28 onwards.

YOu do make a good point though 🙂

Yeah, that's it. My wildcard team for 27 (as it is planned now) also looks a big improvement for 26, and you get the extra freebie!

Would jsut hate to use it and then get burned with injuries etc. that week and have it flop for week 27 - because that's when the points will be made up!
