Six more Premier League matches, six more opportunities to add to our Gameweek totals – sadly, after last night’s heavyweight bouts, the Fantasy talent on show looks somewhat limited.

Carlos Tevez will carry the hopes of some as City take on Birmingham at St Andrews, Dutch maestro Rafael Van der Vaart will do his bit for Spurs at Blackburn. Elsewhere, the ever-popular wantaway Charlie Adam will be spraying passes around and over the accommodating West Ham defence and Clint Dempsey will be shooting on sight with Newcastle dropping by the Cottage.
Aside from that, we will all be hoping to find clean sheets. There might just be more chance of finding Germaine Greer on Andy Gray’s Facebook friend list.

Follow the fortunes of all these players and Johan Elmander’s latest attempt at prising the wheel clamp from his bandwagon, in tonight’s Dugout Discussion chatroom. The doors are open. Granville’s doing the teas.

My version of EPL Fantasy only allows 2 players from each team. I currently have Vidic and Nani. Is it really worth trying to trade one of them out to get Berbatov in my team? My forwards are currently RVP, Tevez and Odemwingie.

    i played that same kind last year with cyki, which is now gone. i'd leave as is. nani is a must have and there are other strikers who will produce. you want a united defender too. i'm planning on just using my transfers to rotate my strikers based on form/fixtures once my team is set in a couple of weeks.

  Yeah, Stockdale has to go now. Only problem with Stockdale -> Begovic this week is it means I'll only get one free transfer for the GW27 doubles - I only have 5 players with doubles at the mo.
  
  If i kept the transfer I'd probably do Rooney & N'Zog -> Fabs(and captain him) and Wingie which would give me 7 doublers. Whatcha reckon?

        GW23 made sense with the 2nd wildcard. Simply adding 4 points for hit to the safety score works better in normal weeks. For DGWs the current rules work better.

      Agreed on alternatives at that price. I live in Holland so I've seen plenty of Suarez. Last season he was top scorer here with 35 goals but he had 228 shots for those goals. He shoots from everywhere and I can see his output in the PL being much lower. He may be something for next season given how many goals he sets up and the likely position they plan for him behind Carroll but I wouldn't touch him with a bargepole now.

    I'm dumping Berbatov now and I'm not too bothered on getting him back. At around 9 (and earlier this season 8.5), he was a bargain but now he is overpriced for someone so inconsistent. I've had him for two of his three hat-tricks (not the five unfortunately) and have made a nice profit from his two sojourns in my team. I think you're right on Odem but he would have to be shipped out soon after the DGW. Due to the GW28 problems, I will probably keep him up to and including GW29.

    Yes I'd want him back.
    
    He's the Prem's top goal scorer, and at home, he rarely fails to deliver. He's also sub 10.0 and has high ownership.
    
    If I don't want him back, the alternatives are Torres, Drogba, Rooney, and they're even more expensive.
    
    Reckon the top dogs are the way to go til season end. Carroll is the only one I think I'd really consider at a price less than 9.0 for the rest of the season.

        It's all hypothetical, but at present I have these plans lined up:
        
        GW 26: Al-Habsi > Begovic
        GW 27: Kelly > R. Johnson
        GW 28: Fabregas > Cahill/Young
        
        It's all flexible considering I've got two free transfers for all these weeks just in case.

        Like it, particularly the Fabregas out in GW28. Something I also ought to consider given that my rival has Fabs. Djourou is also a problem for me for the same reason and I might go for someone else there.

        Chelsea doesn't affect me. Don't want any of their players until after GW28. Currently I have 6 from Bham, Arse and Tott which is probably too many. Five would be ideal with two GW28 transfers available to me

      I actually think it's a nice team, but I never trust Ferdinand (always injured without warning) and there is a huge Fabregas-shaped hole in your midfield in my opinion.

        I don't like Ferdinand either. Only got him in for Rafael when he was suspended for the recent DGW. Thinking of reversing that switch. Would quite like Vidic but he's quite expensive and I can't afford him.
        
        Was also thinking of Walcott and one of Berba and Tevez for Fabregas and a cheap striker, maybe Carroll once he's back.

Just fiddling with my wild card and I’ve got this now. Anyone give me some advice on it?

Foster, Gordon
Vidic, Dawson, Kelly, Djourou, Walker
Fabs, Nani, VdV, Adam, Bentley
Tevez, Van Persie, Odemwingie

Not sure on Dawson given the absence of a match in GW28 for Spurs and three straight away from GW27. Coleman is an alternative but that drops my total DGW players. Is Kelly certain of a Liverpool place?

    Thanks for that. I was under the impression that Foster and Begovic didn't rotate well. I'll have another look although I would select Foster most of the time. If I have Johnson I think I'd be overloaded on Birmingham with Bentley too so I'd have to find an alternative. Had looked at Ethers, Nolan etc but don't like their DGW fixtures both being away. Suggestions?
    
    Plan is Odem out, Carroll in. Current team would make funds tight, particularly as I would want Coleman (worth doing instead of Dawson now maybe) and another Everton for their DGW. However, I could easily scale down a MF to bench fodder to upgrade Odem.

      I don't get the Foster/Begovic combo, it's fine until GW31 after that you get 3 weeks of selection issues.
      I prefer your combo.
      
      Kelly is cheap but plays 5 of next 8 away and on top of that faces Chelsea, Man Utd+City and Arsenal in that period.
      How secure is Djourous starting role? As somebody pointed out, Wenger has stated that he is reluctant to play him twice in a week and with Arsenal's busy schedule I'm a bit worried he might get the occasional rest.
      Is Walker a certain starter?

        Foster - Begovic rotate better than Foster - Gordon.
        
        Begovic is also cheaper, and Stoke defenders are less valuable than Sunderland in terms of bonus and attacking potential. Look carefully at the fixtures.
        
        The remaining issues are fair though.
        
        Kelly is probably a starter, but his fixtures from here on out aren't great.
        
        Djourou is the one I'm really worried about. If he doesn't play for one reason or another, I'm stuck with having to downgrade, and the options just aren't as good.
        
        Walker is probably a starter. Right back position is his by the looks of things.

        The weeks that Begovic is better than Gordon is GW 28 and 33 (but 33 I'd play Foster). GW 32 and 34 Begovic is decidely worse, don't you agree?

Need expert opinions! I have Madrid, bought him at 7.4, so I stand to lose .5 team value if o sell him. He is listed as out for a further 3 weeks, and that's a lot of cash to have on the bench for that time, so I'm tempted to sell for that reason, but am I getting too hung up on team value? Dropping from 107.4 to 106.9 seems a big loss, but should I wait it out given that the rest of my midfield (Nani, VdV, Yaya and Walcott) look decent enough to get me through, especially considering that my frontline of Torres, Berba and van Persie means that I'll most likely be playing 3 up front every week. If I drop Nasri, for whom? I've got 1.3 in the bank, so I can't afford, say, Malouda without a point hit given that I've already used my second WC.

Looking at my team and thinking I'd be an idiot to go into this GW without Tevez:

Foster (Kingson)
Ferdinand / Coleman / Djourou (Murphy / Kelly)
Adam / VDV / Fabs / Nani (Kuyt)
Odem / Berbs / DJ

Thinking that, even with the DGW ahead, DJ may have ran his course. DJ to Tevez seem obvious? Or thank Berbs and wave him goodbye?

A bit perplexed why so many are bringing in Bardsley.

Yeah, he scored, but Sunderland's fixtures are very tough until GW32. 3 away in their next 4 and then Liverpool & Man City. GW32 they have a nice run to the end of the season, so surely that's when he'd be a good purchase?

  Know what you mean. He has scored three goals in 140 career league matches but two are in the last few weeks. That would suggest to me that he is done (mind you, his first suggested that too). With the fixtures for Sunderland in the coming weeks, it is a mystery.
