With the Fantasy Premier League gameweek 26 deadline less than a day away, the Paddy Power Cup qualifiers will be eager to know of their opponent. The 256 fantasy managers in the first round can find their tie right here

The current champion of the original version of the Paddy Power Cup, Gooner dave, is in the first round and will no doubt be looking to add the Members Cup to his cabinet. He squares off against a fellow gooner in salmiano.

A former champ of the sister competition is also in round one, with inaugural winner donnellyc up against Busterroo.

Three of the six remaining Scout Contributors are involved in some of the headline games. Mark‘s tie with RafaMC and greek fan‘s match-up against roversnick fill the undercard to what is arguably the main event between Season Ticker extraordinaire Pure Olivia and number one in the world (ID-wise) SuperDunny.

The highest ranked manager in the competition is 13th placed Helge682, and he will face strong opposition in 865th ranked Dirty_harry.

That’s rotten luck for Dirty_harry and, just to contrast that, the lowest ranked manager in the competition, 1,392,976th placed Sonnky has been drawn against the seventh lowest ranked in 529,043rd placed timdogster.

All round one fixtures will be played over this upcoming gameweek, and I’ll bring you a round-up of the results a couple of days after it has ended.

The prizes courtesy of Paddy Power for the competition are a free £150 bet for the winner, £75 for the runner-up and £50 for third place.

If you’re not with Paddy Power yet, then you can sign up via this site and get a free £20 when you register and bet £10. (All offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions.)

New to the site, if someone could give me some advice i'd really appreciate it. I'm totally stumped on what transfers to do this week.

    Current team:

    Al-Habsi (Foster)

    Coleman, Evra, Djourou (Baird, Murphy)

Fabregas, Nani, VDV, Yaya Toure (Adam)

    RVP, Tevez, Berbatov

    2 free transfers

Looking to get rid of Murphy and Baird, maybe Evra.

    Any ideas?

Simpson, or Jara/Tomas if you have the extra 0.1, have got double game weeks in GW27, but neither are likely to get any clean sheets. Of them I'd go Jara (if fit) for the better fixtures.

The Guardian today published an interview with John W Henry that I think is interesting even for us who don't care particularly about Liverpool. He seems like a man able to explain the way he thinks, he might not be bad for Liverpool after all.

His ethos in mixing business and sport is really credible for a yank. He truly understands history and the impotence of it but with a head firmly looking to the future. Not afraid to back big decisions and invest when needed.

I've been a Red Sox fan since I was about 10.

I know what he did for that franchise so I had no qualms reassuring Liverpool fans that they were in good hands.

Plus you Liverpool fans get to see his wife at home games. Bonus!

perhaps Saha vs blackpool at home? he's very much up and down though, so its a risk in itself playing saha. but for a one week only option, it might be worth looking at. i am considering it but have doubts about it.

Not enough money for my original plan, how's this?

    8 point hit

DJ, Nasri, Reina > Tevez, Walcott, Robinson (or other <£4.6m GK)

    Help!!

Sounds like a decent plan for an 8 pointer to me, although I usually try to avoid them. You'll know yourself if it's necessary, and if it is - go.

Cheers, it fells risky but right. Not just for this game week but the next also. I was lucky with LFC's 3 CS in a row, I don't need Reina & Kelly long term.

This would give Tevez as a nice captain as well.

Do you think Robinson is a good choice?

Yes I do, I went with the Foster&Robinson partnership in my wildcard last week. I think it's excellent, although the same goes for Foster&Begovic.

I actually got all those 3 players in my wildcard.

You know what, I'm gonna risk it for a biscuit. I am 8 points clear of my cash mini league and this will better my team. Win.

Then my strikers are nicely interchangable between Tevez/RVP/Berb to Suarez or whoever I fancy next. Lovely.

How do people feel about Tottenham's defensive prospects for the next few weeks? I'm thinking about going for Gallas or Assou-Ekotto instead of Simpson in my WC team but it will mean i'll have to take a 4 point hit in GW28 to be able to play 11. Wise move or not?

i'm never keen on spurs defenders to be honest, though they have kept a few clean sheets recently. Mind, gomes pulled off some miracle saves to make that last one, they should easily have conceded if he wasn't so good that day.

F*ck just looked at my team and it's filled with injury doubts! Although admittedly a couple of them are on the bench....

If Roger Johnson doesn't play in at least one of the games in the double I'd be livid. This is a guy who's never missed a Premier League match in the past two season, and he chooses to get his first injury now?! *shakes fist*

considering i have a masters in finace, coupled with my finance degree with french, ive an idea yes...

the numbers are f**king scandalous, so stop arguing for the sake of it, you havent a clue. Noone deserves 9million quid, especially if the govt. had to bail them out (nto sure of this in Barclays case and too busy to look into it)

I said they're outrageous, so i'm not arguing with you in that respect. What makes you think i haven't a clue?

But it is no more ridiculous than footballers for example, and the people earning that kinda money are a low fewer too.

The point is that our hands are kinda tied with it.

For the third time, the money is outrageous - but at least they do work hard for it. I think they're more deserving than alot of people earning the same and more, that's all i'm saying. I personally don't think you can justify those kinda wages for whatever anyone does - it's madness.

Who is lying to me? I'm not going off what anyone says, but our economy has hardly any industry to it anymore, financial services is where we are competitive and if we get rid of the bonuses then firms will just set up abroad. And we will lose out much much more by that happening.

Only just got in, so don't know anything about the Adam injury. Although reading around here people don't seem to be taking it too seriously.

Would you not rather start Huth over Adam anyway? Other than that possibility, the rest of the team is absolutely fine.

Would, but with the calf injury, the loss against West Ham, the fact he'll leave at end of season all spell a lack of motivation. Lack of motivation = less drive on the field = less bonus. That's just my theory though. I'd love to have Young and Cahill but I'm just shy in cash.

Need to buy a defender this week, and will be using my wildcard next week so can be anyone. Already have a weak back line of Djourou, Kelly, Bardsley, Evatt and Foley.

Who is best for this week? Was thinking Kolarov or Coleman?
