There’s been a lot of talk concerning Chalie Adam’s yellow card count – a significant concern as he goes into a double fixture in the forthcoming Gameweek. While some sources state that the Blackpool skipper sits on 8 bookings for the season, today we confirmed with the FA that Adam is in fact on 9 bookings and therefore just a single yellow card away from a 2-match ban. Potentially this could see him miss Blackpool’s second fixture of the Gameweek against Spurs, if Adam collects a booking against Villa.

Despite confirmation from the FA that Adam did sit on 9 bookings, we have gone one step further this evening in the light of further doubt concerning this situation, and received confirmation from Blackpool’s Secretary Matt Williams. He has confirmed to us first hand that Adam is on 9 bookings and one yellow away from a ban.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

definetely the hardest wc im currently in.

to play with 5 mfield? or 3 fwd?

    bring fabs and sub tevez?

is djourou still out injured? can only have 3 players and with rvp and walcott is already in the team.. djourou or fabs?

i think i will have the most expensive sub ever with tevez and vidic is in it.

suggestion on a wc team this week?

Not me. He is on his way out, but it would be madness to sell now prior to a dgw. He will get at least one of those games....hopefully both, and gw28!

If you dont have wildcard keep him.

If do have wildcard its too risky to include him.

Those with him in team could get a nice haul from him if hes not booked. However he seems to attract yellows so i wouldnt be hopeful

On a wildcard so I'm very reluctantly getting rid of Adam since i'd say he's about 50/50 to play in Gw28.
Who to get instead though.. leaning towards Nolan or maybe Etherington.

Word of warning on etherington. I put him in thinking that with jones, carew and huth to aim his crosses at he was by far the best choice midfielder of his price range but it appears that pennant has stolen his set piece duties and is seeing alot more of the ball than etherington.

I went for etherington but as you can see from my above post im beginning to regret it. Barton appears to have taken pen duties back from nolan and takes all other set-pieces so id say he edges it over nolan

Well he's been a card magnet for the last couple months so don't be surprised if he misses half of GW27 AND Gw28.
With a 2 match ban being inevitable it just makes sense to get rid while using a wildcard rather than riding your luck for the next couple weeks and having to spend a transfer later on getting rid. 9 yellows in 25 games show the odds are about 67% he'll miss Gw28.

Have changed my wildcard team 100 times already this week. Permutations are mind boggling.

Originally went for 11 double weekers , however im starting to have second thoughts. For some reason im being drawn towards Darren Bentt and / or Ashley Young. Maybe it was his goal today that set me thinking.

There are not really that many double gameweek good options available , especially in midfield. Ok there the arsenal boy but outside of that its hard to be confident that many of them will do much more in two games than they will in one.
Could be like having two 25 point gameweeks back to back for a piddling score of around 50

Also wanting Ashley Young is one thing , but what about Cahill?? Seems fairly essential to have him in for the double in gm29

Im almost tempted to dump Van Persie , i know it sounds crazy and could backfire badly but it would make life much simpler in terms of wildcarding a balanced team that will still look good for gm 28 anf beyond.

But whats all this talk about the Arsenal Tottenham gamemight be back on?????????/

As for 28 Assuming Adam picks up a booking in one of the two games you will be without

      Carr
      VDV
      fABS

      Wallcott

Why is it that the f.a didnt just schedule the spurs vs arsenal match for the 2nd of march (GW28) then if arsenal do need a replay against leyton orient (unthinkable surely) they cancel it and play the replay? Word on the street (fantasyfootballscout.com) is that its very likely to be played then. It seems logical it would be. Obviously the arguement for why it shouldnt be is that arsenal have a cup final in close proximity to that date but in all fairness to other clubs surely when a clubs fixtures are played cant be dictated by the club in question to that extent. Fixture congestion is just a trial and/or tribulation of being a successful club isnt it....?

            Carling cup is sunday 27th
The following Wednesday is the 2nd where there's no fixture.
Im not sure why they dont pencil the Spurs match in here. At a guess i'd say its either
            A. To do with sky having the rights and it clashing with another of their tv matches.

Bardsley Coleman Kolarov Kelly R Johnson

    Fabregas Cahill Barton Nani Lennon

    RVP Odemthingie Tevez

7 dgwers BUT more importantly, a team that will work for most of the remainer of the season.

4 players benched in 28 but one transfer will give me 11 counters. Comments thankyou.

Fair point Itsy. I got Bardsley for 4.3 and averages over 4pts per game. Even when SUN fail to keep a cleany, he still gets assists and goals.

Was thinking Walker for him but AV don't do cs. Any other alternatives?

I was going to mention that but figured you were happy to bench him until you want him later in the season. Only gw's you'll want to play him really are 32, 34, 35, 37 so yeah i think there's better options.
If you get walker then you will have him or r.j with a very strong fixture every week until the end.
Defence is same as mine except i have rafael instead of bardsley.

Sunderlands next fixtures are spurs, everton, arsenal, liverpool then man city. Even the most optimistic sunderland fan wouldnt expect much from bardsley in those fixtures. Surely sunderland and bardsleys good form cant continue with those fixtures.

The fixtures aren't good, I agree, Itsy. However, look who SUN have kept cs against this season: Chelsea, etc.

When he's gained .7 in value, I'm not sure it's worth booting him.

Yeah i have to admit my opinion is based on a hunch that sunderland and bardsley cant continue to perform as well as they have been so far this season. So if you have a hunch to the contrary then definitely go for it. Better go with your own hunch than that of a stranger lol

gotta play the fixtures though. But if 3 out of the other 4 give you a good defence each week until gw32 then it could make sense to bench him till then and save a transfer down the road.

Wolves, sunderland, stoke at home vs wolves, sunderland, blackpool away. And arsenal have way more goals in em than spurs.

Think of the expected points return over the 2 gameweeks. Sagna/Clichy could end up getting more points than say Huth even playing one less game due to fixtures.

Have I missed something? Why do so many people think Arsenal-Tottenham won't be played in Gwk28? If Arsenal win their tie against Leyton Orient and don't have to play a replay then in all likelihood they will reschedule the Tottenham game for 1st March which would still be in Gwk 28.

I think the majority agree with you but it does seem there is major doubts about this with some people. We need to get the ffs team to look more deeply into it. If they are in a position to 'confirm' things with the F.A as indicated in this very article surely its worth them asking about this.

        Fabregas Nani VDV Adam Barton
        Tevez RVP Odemwingie

indeed mate, I'm thinking along similar lines.
Vidic, adam & vdv to rafael, walcott & young sounds good to me. You could then use your freebie to ship fab or walcott to cahill next week, imo fab to cahill which will give you cash to upgrade odemwingie to someone like saha or bent. Would also leave you with an easy swap of walcott/young/cahill to vdv down the line if it seems right.
