Tonight’s Dugout Discussion action is sponsored by loneliness and/or being disenfranchised. While lovers up and down the country are going out for fancy meals, popping the question or buying that last minute bouquet at the petrol station, all we need to remember is we’ve got another game of football in store.

The lovers don’t have a monopoly on romance though, as the likes of David Luiz will be dressed to impress in his first start for Chelsea, while Steve Sidwell is on the prowl for more bait. Yossi Benayoun is left crying in the stands at his own Valentine loneliness, he’s also injured. Tonight’s full teams follow, the headline news is that Drogba is on the bench…

Fulham: Schwarzer; Baird, Hughes, Hangeland, Salcido; Duff, Murphy, Sidwell, Dempsey; Dembele, Johnson.

Chelsea: Cech; Ivanovic, Luiz, Terry, Cole; Essien, Ramires, Lampard; Malouda, Torres, Anelka

The Dugout Dicussion will be open as per usual for all of the evening’s action. Fingers crossed for a drab 1-1 own goal based affair and roll on the double Gameweek – starting tomorrow.

    how can luiz gets bps he gave away a penalty! not being seriosu just highlighting a contradiction.
    if vdv missed a pen and got bps no one would say a word. unfortunately 0-0s or boring 1-1s lend themselves to random bps. c'est la vie.

      I didnt see the game but when a smaller team like Fulham hold Chelsea in the league im not that surprised the Fulham players get the bps.

      Mind it seems the wrong players were chosen.

        Cech should have gotten them for saving the peno if anything...

        Luiz was outstanding too

        Ramires was good, better than Duff anyways

        Fulham are just getting credit for holding Chelsea I guess

        Torres fluffed a few good chances too

      In fairness the lad was pretty impressive, he was popping up all over the shop, good feet, loves a tackle, can move with the ball. i expect him to be a bp hog from now on.

        i agree. my bp guess was 3 from luiz, ramires, hangeland, hughes and baird.
        just dont think dempsey's penalty miss is a reason why he shouldn't have got bps. he was basically the only player in chelsea's half winning the penalty himslef pretty much out of nothing. his and duff's performances (or lack of it) for the other 89 mins is what i don't get.

      My first impression was that you were taking the mickey out of Torres, which I thought was harsh seeing as he's a proven Premier League striker, but then I realised Chelsea have scored that total in that many games.

          Hope he keeps his job.

          Nah, in all seriousness, with over 20 shots against Fulham without scoring it;s clear that Chelsea would be a force if they bought a top striker.

            Did you watch the match though? A lot of those shots were hopeless efforts from about 25 yards out, from Lampard and Ramires especially.

            We have no one in midfield who can pass the ball and no real pace in the side other than Torres - Anelka spends all his time dropping deep, which I like but most don't.

            Luiz looked top quality, but other than him, Ramires and Cech, the rest were awful today.

    Here is the answer I got from EPL regarding Nani's lack of BPs.

    The Press Association provide all the data for our games, and we will
    pass your comments on to them.

    However as it states in the rules:

    "Neither we nor the Press Association will enter into any correspondence
    relating to the allocation of points to players."

    The best three players, according to our independent match expert (an
    ex-professional footballer) at PA, receive 1-3 points accordingly. They
    are awarded on the basis of involvement and influence in match,
    competency of role filled, quality of performance to the overall
    contribution to the result, length of time on the pitch and conduct.
    Because these are subjective ratings it's unlikely they will always
    tally with the view of other commentators/reporters/fans.

    If players have kept clean sheets, been responsible for assists and
    scored goals they will be rewarded accordingly by the scoring system in
    place within Fantasy Premier League. The bonus points reflect on their
    overall performance and contribution to the game, not specific
    instances.

    However, we do appreciate the feedback and will continue to review the
    bonus points each week.

    Thank you

    FPL

      Joaquin from Valencia, or if have no problem with it would put in Lucho Gonzalez from Marseille. The way chelski been playing Vingaard might not be a bad option this round either. Pjanic and Gourcuff also great options but not so sure how they will fare v real madrid. For this round would prob go wit either Joaquin or Lucho.

      Dont like your team, but captain Mata. Will Have a big game. Any team without both Messi and Ronaldo is taking a huge risk. Midfield is weak. Nani is horrible away. Malouda and Chelski have no solutions as of yet. Carvalho is a waste ucl fantasy wise, unless getting a cleanie which they wont. Vidic overkill. Fit in Mexes somewhere and if want chelski coverage, go with their defence. I would double up on Valencia midfield too. Pablo being the logical choice.

    I need some help with my team.

    I need to get rid of one of:

    RVP, Fabregas, R Johnson, or VDV for next week.

    I was thinking VDV>Cahill

    Do I need to make another transfer?

      That all depends on the rest of your team. Obviously try and field 11. Even better, field 11 with good fixtures. Obviously Johnson has another DGW approaching, Fab and RVP are immense...so, VDV to Cahill makes sense. Unless you do Johnson to an Everton defender, as they're DGW against Bir.

        I have a similar problem in that i have VDV, RVP, Fabregas and Walcott. The plan all along was to do Walcott -> Cahill this week, but now im thinking of shipping Fabregas and putting the extra £5m to better use. Hopefully one of the two gets suspended soon, god forbid i'd have to makea decision :p

          I'm contemplating a Fabregas --> Cahill switch too (and keeping VDV). That extra cash is quite tempting!

          jpoler1: It's probably best to do nothing yet. I see that you have Adam in your team too - if he picks up another yellow card against Spurs you will need to decide whether to bench or transfer him for GW28 (Adam --> Cahill might be an option for you?).

          Like me, I think to much funds are tied up in a "misfiring" Fabregas. I really hope Fabregas comes good in the next game, but then again I am planning on selling him, so I hope he makes it easy for me to finaly part ways with him.

          RVP & Tevez are season keepers unless they get injured. So Odem-->Bent makes sense. Thats if you sell Fab. Nani/VDV/Adam can't be sold IMO.

          So do what many will do this week: Fab-->Cahill to line you up for Odem-->Bent.

          Villa have dissapointed me in the past, so I think im just getting in a cheap Villa defender(Walker)

            I planned to sell Fabs for Cahill as well. As you said it is pretty difficult considering his potential and fixtures but his returns for his price aren't good enough. I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking about this.

            Thanks for the advice. Def have to get rid of Odem after this week to he'll go for Bent. Never had bent in my squad so I hope he takes advantage of the fixtures...

        Aah, jinswick. You will have to do...hehe

        I will (hopefully) have 9 players playing gw28 with 2 free trades. I was not intending to bring in a keepr for stockdale, but looking at my reserve league h2h opponent it seems he will def have 11 players. His keeper will be begovic.

        Now im thinking to do stockdale-->Vdsar, especially if ManU have double.Also vdS and foster(my other keeper) rotate perfect on H/A basis until end of season.

        Also will do Fab-->Cahill.

        Leaving me with: VDS*/Coleman/Kelly/Shawx/Bardsley/Nani*/Adam/Brunt/Cahill/Tevez/Berba*

        Ideas?

          Haha, not a bad plan, although depending on what cash you have left after the above 2, it might be better to do Stockdale & Fabs -> Begovic & Cahill this week, and then upgrade Brunt to VDV/A Young?

            I will have 0.9m left after doing stockdale-->VDS and Fab-->Cahill.

            I just can't see the need for begovic just to play in gw 28. I have shawx so if stoke keep CS i at least cover that. Also VDS will surely at least score 4pts if ManU have double. Also i will never really play begovic after gw 28 while I have foster. VDS is will def play.

            I allready have VDV, so no problem there. I will do brunt-->bentley for gw 29 leaving me with 2 Birm doublers + 2 Everton doublers.

            Will bring Walker in for Villa's run in. Not convinced on young/bent.

              All fair points. You've got me considering VDS also now. I guess you're done with Fabs for the season after this week then? Could be risky.

              Any thoughts on this move for me?

              GW28:
              Stockdale, Bosingwa & Fabs -> VDS, Walker & Cahill
              - would be an 8 point hit but will mean I can field 11 and have an extra double in GW28(VDS) and GW29(Cahill), and then have the funds to do:
              GW29: Wingie -> Saha (if fit)

    Should i be taking any hits this week with the below squad? Currently only have 9 players starting GW28 (assuming Bosingwa plays, so probably only 8) and only 2 doubles for GW29.

    Foster, Stockdale
    Rafael, Djourou, Coleman, Bosingwa, Kelly
    VDV, Nani, Fabs, A Young, Adam
    Tevez, RVP, Wingie
    Bank 0.5m

    Thinking of taking an 8 point hit in GW28 - can then field 11:

    Stockdale -> Begovic
    Bosingwa -> Enrique
    Fabs -> Cahill

    Then in GW29: A Young -> Fabs

    Any thoughts please? Ta

      Then Brunt-->Young with 0.4m in bank.

        Disagree, Fabs will come true, especially now that sched gets filled up and mr glass will soon be out again. Rafael doesnt seem certain to me, so I would either transfer him or bosingwa for Kylie walker. Since arsenal missing a gameweek, perhaps djourou for walker and then ship bosingwa or rafael the next gw

      Hmmm, maybe I should leave Bosingwa in then...

      How does this sound:

      GW28: Fabs -> Cahill (can only field 10 - namely Bosingwa, Coleman, Rafael, Kelly, Nani, Adam, A Young, Cahill, Tevez, Wingie)

      GW29: Wingie -> Saha, giving me 4 doubles - namely Foster, Coleman, Cahill, Saha
