Cesc Fabregas has this evening suffered an injury that saw him replaced after just 14 minutes of the Premier League clash with Stoke.

Details on the injury are sketchy right now but fears are mounting that the Gunners skipper may well have sustained further hamstring problems. The severity is not yet clear and, given Arsenal’s forthcoming fixtures – the Carling Cup Final and the Champions League second leg with Barcelona – we can only hope that his withdrawal was partly precaution. That could well be wishful thinking.

In Fantasy terms the injury is ironic to say the least. Robin Van Persie was ruled out of tonight’s game with his own hamstring injury, a cruel blow for those who captained the Dutchman for Arsenal’s double fixture in gameweek 27. Those who skippered Fabregas going into the gameweek have now suffered a similar fate with the Spaniard returning just 8 points in total.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

We tend not to officially open it when there is just one kick-off. Wasn't expecting a Fabregas injury and a comment bomb.

So now that i have 4 DEF, 1 MID and 2 ATT for next week how many transfers would people on here advise?
I have 2 free ones and was thinking I should do three
    Fabs, Lennon, Adam out
    Merieles, Young, Silva in
Obviously if Cahill is fit then i will put him in instead of 1 of these three - but which one??

    Foster
    Hutton
    Djourou
    Walcott

    How does this look:

Fabs injury doesn't alter my transfer plans that much. Was going to sell Djourou and bench Fabs & RVP. So now will just bench Djourou and sell Fabs

Would it be completely mad to go:

    Adam, Fabs, VDV and Vp

    to

Young, Cahil, Silva and Rooney (considering all are fit)

12point hit - (highest i would have ever done) but im taking out four players that will score 0.

How many players in total do you have out? If those are the only 4 then you only need to get rid of one. If you have 7+ players out, I would keep VDV and RVP but maybe also depends on how much value you lose.

What a great half of football that was at the San Siro. Both teams attacking, very open.

I think I'm spotting a trend of some teams realizing that it's smart to attack if you're away in the first leg to grab an away goal, rather than just play for the 0-0 as has been the standard approach for the last five years.

Sheesh, the game hasnt reached half time yet and already the post is up. BBC claimed that he walked off rather than carried/crawled/stretchered off, im not an expert on such injuries but that doesnt sound too bad to me. As long as he is back for GW30 i'm fine

If he is injured longterm will this have a negative impact on the other Arsenal players too, I wonder?

In any case, this and Adam's suspension leaves me with ten players for next week, although my nearest rival will only have eight, one of whom is Etherington so maybe seven.

Thing is, who do I get in for Fabregas and Adam? Brum and Everton have DGW's in week 29, but are any of their midfielders worth investing in?
