Everton and Birmingham’s double fixture in gameweek 29 is under threat if Championship Reading force a replay at Goodison in their fifth round tie with the Toffees.

Everton have confirmed today that if next Tuesday’s tie ends in a draw, the replay would take place at the Madejski Stadium on March 8. That would mean that the Premier League clash with Birmingham at Goodison, currently scheduled for March 9, would be shifted to an as yet unknown date.

Everton currently have that Birmingham fixture and a visit to Newcastle in gameweek 29, promoting their players in our thinking. Tim Cahill has become a key target, although this news, coupled with the recent doubt surrounding his chances of making the weekend encounter with Sunderland, certainly casts doubt over investment before Tuesday’s Cup tie.

Birmingham themselves would of course lose their second fixture, leaving them with a home clash with West Brom in gameweek 29 to follow this week’s blank.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

He may be the type of player that prefers scoring from open play and doesn't like taking penalties. Liverpool probably offered it to him before but i think he refused.

It's quite striking* that he did so well fantasy wise in (iirc) 08/09, given that a lot of other successful stikers either take pentalties or are second on the list.

Drogba is second after Lampard (who until this season barely missed a game TBH), Rooney I think was second to Ronaldo, and RVP is first choice.

        *no pun intended

haha yeah i've wondered about that aswell.

Torres is just a lethal finisher on his day, and what's even more amazing is that he did it without a striking partner of sorts and a lack of quality wingers supporting him./

"there is no way this can finish with the main scoreboard reading 22 required off 1 ball. SA are well ahead of the par score - 58 runs to be precise. It is a very light drizzle for now, but if it doesn't stop, then people with AB de Villiers in the Fantasy XI could be cheated of some century points"

I'm not really sure why there's so much hate against cricket posts. Sure most of the off topic stuff is cricket at the moment but theres ALWAYS some kind of off topic post floating about.

I can't understand it either. What really annoyed me the other day was that it was during England's first world cup game and a good few (but by no means all) of the people complaining I had never seen post before.
So their first posts are bitching about people having a chat about cricket during a fallow FPL period? What tossbuckets!

Yeah but like I said there's always off topic posts, I doubt theres that many more cricket posts than usual off topic posts.

Even so, why do people are, it takes about 2 seconds to realise it's a cricket post, if that. Move on.

Not trying to be directly offensive towards yourself kroky, but frankly f*ck them. The world cup is on, there is a FFScout cricket league, a good number of posters are interested, its harmless chat.
I find the volume of repetitive posts annoying, there's plenty of annoyance if people want to look for it. However it's extremely easy to scroll past posts that dont interest you.
The people who are posting about cricket are also still posting about football, the moaning is both over the top and unfair.

yeah, i agree attila. people are ott. i think the main problem is that cricket is one of those sports where people literally do not have a clue about, never seen a game or just plain hate. most other topics discussed like films, music, games are very general and everyone can have a say.

A draw in the EVE-REA isn't that unrealistic. Even if they win, another game will have another injury of Cahill or Saha in it.
I might stay clear of them this week and get Silva (already have Young)instead, although that would mean three Manc players 🙁

Only option from another team really is Tevez, but FUL has lately been good defensively. I'm leading in my minileague so Nani is the obvious, because safe choice. If you want to take some risks you could also go for Young or O'Hara, but not me.
