Everton and Birmingham’s double fixture in gameweek 29 is under threat if Championship Reading force a replay at Goodison in their fifth round tie with the Toffees.

Everton have confirmed today that if next Tuesday’s tie ends in a draw, the replay would take place at the Madejski Stadium on March 8. That would mean that the Premier League clash with Birmingham at Goodison, currently scheduled for March 9, would be shifted to an as yet unknown date.

Everton currently have that Birmingham fixture and a visit to Newcastle in gameweek 29, promoting their players in our thinking. Tim Cahill has become a key target, although this news, coupled with the recent doubt surrounding his chances of making the weekend encounter with Sunderland, certainly casts doubt over investment before Tuesday’s Cup tie.

Birmingham themselves would of course lose their second fixture, leaving them with a home clash with West Brom in gameweek 29 to follow this week’s blank.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I agree that it would be silly to take out begovic. Iyou could take out van persie for Berbs/Rooney but if you're worried about losing the value you could bring in Cahill for Fabregas/Walcott, depending on injury reports.

Am I missing something as to why Ashley Young is being favoured so much over the cheaper, in form Stewart Downing 5bps in last two games), against two teams who have barely got one decent right back?

I’m confused, seems like a no-brainer to me.

Torres has shown no form at all. Tevez is fixture proof.

I took him out of my wildcard team for a van Persie, Odem, Bent combo for the DGW. Wish I hadn't now.

With no great mid options jumping out at me I'm tempted to do a 4 pt hit to do Odem and RVP to Rooney and Tevez and ditch Rooney in GW29.

In other words I'd keep Tevez and leave Torres alone.

    Tosey, Johnny Unitas-

id imagine they name the teams so early so that clubs can maybe get players back that wont be in the matchday 22 from the training squad, so tactics/strategies/rests/injury rehabs etc. can be planned for the club weekend games. I'd be pretty sure that's the agreement clubs and countries in general have.

            for a millin reasons, no

stag hunt ban reversal, Fine Gael basically being the same as Fianna fail, they want to sell state assets, wont renegotiate ray burke's 1987 corrupt corrib gas field deal (irish people get nothing form it) labour says they will try. Enda kenny with an overall majority scares the shit out of me too, we need conscientious objectorsplus the constant hand-rubbing gleeful look of that little oul-lad garden-gnome impersonator from Fine gael on Vincent Brown/rte with the white hair all the time, cos of all the favourable polls sickens me. kenny hasn't answered ONE question about numbers either, nor can he engage his brain to have a bit of back and forth. labour or greens for me

everyone else will vote fine gael, so one of my main reasons for labour is i dont want them to have a majority, or one that only needs independents.

labour will get ion with them, because They know stuff has to get done this term, so theyll thrash things out rather than obstructing, with labour having a vital say. Fine Gael having the totalitarian ideological run of the place would be a disaster!

club rugby trams name them a few days before aswell, but national teams in general do it further before for reasons above im sure.

club teams do it in advance more from a publicity perspective, its harder to get crowds to rugby than premiership games. Gets people talking, makes previews more relevant in papers/websites.

Tough one; the numbers Man U have scored less than a third of their goals away. Among the bottom 6 Teams, Wigan have the best defensive record. So even with the Double game week, Tevez may just shave it.

    Adam > Silva
    Fabs > A Young

These seem like good moves? Means I can bench one of Kelly & Brunt and I'll definitely have 11 players as I'll have someone to auto-sub on for Cahill if he doesn't play.

Not convinced that Silva will reward at all, he scored with his back through no effort of his own against United and that is distorting his stats in my view. Excellent player, just don't think you will have much joy.

That being said, with Cahill being an injury doubt this week and over the DGW, there aren't a whole lot of options out there and it may pay off, Fabregas to Young again is a move that looks good on paper, but Young's form is poor, Villa's form offensively is poor too, again, options are limited, so in the circumstances, the best of a bad bunch!

Yeah, no options at all really. You know it's bad when Silva/A Young & Arteta are the best options availiable. Probably still going to make them moves, to be honest their isn't one midfielder who is great form in the league fantasy wise, maybe Nani who obviously I already have.

I can't really see one genuine solid mid choice this week, Johnny U.

Cahill has no form at all going into this GW, Silva is getting assists but still not tempting too many people. I have Meireles already.

I reckon the best players to get this weekend are Tevez and Rooney/Berbs.

I have finally decided to take an 8 point hit in GW28 to unload Adam and my Spur/Ars/Bir loaded team. In GW28 I play a low rank mate, so can still win. But in GW29 I play the top rank person, so do not want further adjustments/4 point hit due to Adam constraints.

I need 2 midfielders and 1 defender. Ideally, want to take advantage of the ManU DGW and I have Nani. My thinking is:

    Adam/Lennon > Barton/Giggs
Sagna > Coleman (ready for Eve DGW)

GW29 1 transfer Giggs > Arteta or Cahill if fit

What have I missed and of course any suggestions. Cheers

Nani is enough for MU midfield imo. Their DGW is hardly very attractive at all, if you wanna get 3 players from Utd stick with VDS/Vidic/Nani/Rooney, keep Berb if you have him but dont buy him. Anyone else will either struggle to play both matches or is unlikely to score anything high in those matches

Thanks, on the back of 108 points, I am now paying for my team configuration and it has to be 2 midfielders and 1 defender. I really like the look of Smalling, but he's a rotation risk and I want to set up for Eve DGW. Now, which 2 midfielders, I have Miereless/Adam/Lennon/Nani/Walcott - I need to to come alongside Miereless/Nani otherwise I am playing 10 men....Mmmmm

If I had to choose one of those 3 it would be Silva this week as he's the only one whose been getting more than 2 pts in the last 3 games.

Meireles has form and a favourable opponent this week.

I'd wait a week to see what Cahill is doing but I posted on here earlier this week that I'd rather have VdV back in GW29 than Cahill on current form.

The only reason I can see to get Cahill in is for his double in 28. Without that I see no appeal at his hefty price.

opponent has made 1 transfer, any more would be a hit w/ a bench of fabs, rvp, djourou, bale, adam. so he has to take a hit to field 11.

I feel like Im in good shape, he has no tevez, only 1 home player and i have a defender from that same team. Worried a little about vidic, but other than that Im in good shape right?

I've taken him out RBJ for Rooney and a 4pt hit. Rooney should at least get back the 4 if he pays both games so I think it's worth it. (Had to do the other though to field 11).

Edward James Olmos, addicted to Battlestar Galactica at the moment.

I think getting Cheslea players now is sensible, there will be an improvement in form eventaully and Lamps is fresh, might be a good move, Bent is a solid goal a game type guy, but Villa are not the most prolific at the moment, I would say 50/50 between both selections on form and fixtures

    Begovic
    Rafael Coleman Hangeland
    Nani Barton FABREGAS VDV ADAM
    Tevez (c) Campbell
    Subs: Foster RVP RJOHNSON DJOUROU
2.6 in the bank 1 free transfer
    Planning:
    VDV, Fabregas and Adam out
    Young, Cahill and Silva in
8 point hit Obviously injury dependent.

This allows me to field 11 this week. Money isn’t an issue so can afford any mid price midfielders. Fed up with the fragility of Fabregas and VDV and can always buy them back if necessary.

interesting, I was just playing around with my team and did the exact same thing with Torres and Rooney, IN, on the basis that it would almost poetic for Torres to score against United and terrorise Vidic AGAIN, I like the cut of your jib.

And people talk about us "touchy" United fans, what on earth are they talking about. I recall Torres tearing Vidic a new one on too many occassions to mention, but of late, yes, not too many.

I have a feeling for Torres and Chelsea against United, it's the kick in the balls they have been waiting to deliver on United, and when we really need to win, again, it is almost poetic that it come from Chelsea when they are all but out of the race!
