Hot on the heels of the round two results, the draw for the third round of the Members Paddy Power Cup has been made and the fixtures can be viewed right here. Of the 32 fixtures there are several stand-out ties…

Having seen off pompeyfan in the second round, the fourth highest-ranked Fantasy Manager in the competition, denial, has been drawn in the glamour tie of the round against 5oth in the world, and highest-ranked manager in the competition, Zophar.

Another contender enjoying a fabulous season is current Paddy Power Cup III Champion, Gooner dave. He takes on Merlinho in the last 64.

The last remaining Scout Contributor in the Cup, Granville has a tough test against Dave Boozle.

Last week’s top-scorer xabi_14 is on an exceptionally hot streak, having clocked post-wildcard scores of 117, 75, 100 and 103. That mammoth four week glut has seen him catapult up the rankings from 217,542nd in GW23 to now 8,682nd in the world. In his way this week is NotoriousDRE, another in-form manager who has only notched three fewer points than his opponent in the same period.

Fixtures to be played over Gameweek 28, and I’ll bring you news of the results shortly after it’s conclusion. Good luck to all participating.

    I'm looking to shift Walcott in a vain attempt to field 11, I have 7m to spend, any tips for a season long buy? I have looked at Downing but I'm just not convinced he's the man.

    I have 11 for my team for this week, almost... hopefully.... without taking a hit. transfered Silva in for VDV so I'm playing:

    Begovic
    Kolarov, Walker, Kelly, Coleman
    Silva, Young, Meirelezshzzzz, Nani
    Tevez (c) Odemwingie

    I don't want to take a hit but I am worried about Kelly dropping out and Odem returning me no more than 2pts. In that eventuality taking a hit to bring in some more fire power upfront may be my best option.

    Ive had so much work on this week i dont really have a clue to the state of the injury situation at the mo. Wont get in till 5am so doubt ill get up in time to check anything before the deadline. I fear my luck may be running out and im going to cock up these transfers. So far im thinking giggs n cahill 4 fabs n adam for a 4 point hit to get 11 out. Ive also got walcott, rvp, vdv. Is this a good move or am i missing something?

      Hey Milky..

      I think in a couple of weeks - maybe as early as the Sunderland game - you're going to wish you had kept Fabregas... so I'd be wary of not having a pretty straight forward way of bringing him back in. He's making a chance every 29 minutes, the best in all 5 of Europe's top leagues. He's playing further forward than RVP for a lot of the games they play together. It's only a matter of time before he gets on a big scoring run... and until then he'll be ticking over with assists. I think Walcott is the one to take out of your team (at least that's what I'm doing). The Premiership is number 1 priority. Fabregas missing Sunday is precautionary. I think it'll be full strength for Sunderland personally - and certainly every Prem game beyond - fitness permitting, and I don't think these niggles are anything serious.

    Considering taking a 4pt hit to cover for possibility of Kelly out:

    Kelly -> Kolarov

    Thoughts?

    I'm currently thinking Meireles, Young, and on the fence about 4pt hit for Kelly to Kolarov.

      should i start Kelly, who might not be fit to start but could come on as an 89.min sub to secure points for Pool or should i go for Odem? i really can’t see him do anything at Stoke, plus i’ve got Huth...

      however, most of my main rivals in my mini-league have Odem and it would hurt like hell to leave him on the bench if he decides to bank in on that brace i had so masterfully forseen him to get last GW!

      With my FPL team, I'm planning Walcott (over Fabregas and Adam) and RVP to Cahill and Tevez for a 4 point hit. I take it that everyone else will be doing pretty much the same? 😛
