It’s something of a mystery that, given his positive impact whilst on loan at Portsmouth last season, no top-flight club had been initially willing to take a punt on Jamie O’Hara this term. Hampered by a back problem and the quality of the midfield at parent club Spurs, he’s been stuck on the sidelines, managing not one single minute of game time until Mick McCarthy brought him to Molineux on loan at the tail end of the January transfer window. As illustrated in last Saturday’s 4-0 home romp over Blackpool, O’Hara’s performances are already reaping reward for Wolves and Big Mick’s acquisition is looking like a masterstroke.

As this average position map from the Blackpool game shows, O’Hara (24) is stationed in the heart of the Wolves midfield and, with his fair share of set-piece duties in addition, is quickly looking like the Midlands club’s equivalent to Charlie Adam, with some talismanic performances that have undoubtedly helped boost the club‘s survival chances.

Within a month of arriving at his new club, Fantasy Premier League (FPL) Managers are also discovering O’Hara has lost little of the allure that made him a real cut-price midfield proposition last time round. Having taken three games to build up his match-fitness, O’Hara has now managed 90 minutes in each of Wolves’ last two games and has returned two goals and five FPL Bonus Points, for a Fantasy Total of 20 points.

A look at these Passing Chalkboards from those last two games highlights O’Hara’s involvement in Wolves’ play and makes it easy to appreciate just how he’s appealing to the Bonus Point judges, too. He made 69 passes against West Brom, 6 tackles, had 3 shots and grabbed a goal and 3 Bonus Points for his endeavours.

Against a Blackpool side shorn of the suspended Adam, O’Hara’s performance was immense. He made an incredible 87 passes, 5 tackles, and once again had 3 shots, from which he grabbed a goal. Only a double from Sylvan Ebanks-Blake prevented him from picking up all 3 Bonus Points and O’Hara instead had to make do with only 2 from the Bonus Judges.

Our Members should further investigate his stats from the past few gameweeks- he’s been one of the league’s outstanding performers and has clearly settled instantly at Molineux. McCarthy has not held back in his praise of the midfielder and is clearly desperate to make the signing a permanent one:

He has already made a difference to us and it’s great to have him around the place as well as in the team. He makes us play, he gets on the ball and you can see why he’s been a Tottenham player. Hopefully he will be a Wolves player for a long time. It’s not just a case of me wanting him here but he wants to come here as well. He is a chirpy character to have around the place as well as being a very good player. Whether there is a deal already in place to sign him from Spurs – that is down to our chief executive Jez Moxey.

For those Fantasy Managers mulling over buying O’Hara this gameweek, beware: the loan agreement with Spurs means he cannot participate in Wolves’ next league match -at home to Harry’s side- but from the following gameweek, priced at just £5.1m for those considering an alternative to the likes of Charlie Adam, he’s becoming increasingly hard to ignore.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Torres has yet to control a pass so he should be a rotation risk.

    MUSIC

Just been listening to The Suburbs by Arcade Fire. Is it considered to be any good? I don't listen to rock or pop much these days. Suburbs is pleasant but doesn't seem to contain anything that wasn't done 30 years ago...

I quite liked it. Pleasant's probably the right word. There first album is better... more emotion, more of a racket, and much more interesting. They are great value as a live act.

Tbh, what hasn't been done in this genre already? It's more about keep making feel-good, uplifting, or interesting pieces of music with mass appeal - rather than setting the world alight with something new. For better or for worse...

I'm a big fan of Merge Records that Arcade fire are signed to. You should check out Kaputt by Destroyer on the label. My album of the year so far. Just written a review of it here.

Merge have also signed The Mountain Goats this year, another of my favourites. Been a big 12 months for the label after all the acclaim for Arcade fire.

I agree (again) on his contributions to the New Pornographers, often they are much better than his solo work.

Plenty of my friends absolutely love Arcade Fire but I'm a little torn myself. Will have to agree with what has been said already that the previous two albums were butter, but even back then I didn't think they deserved the huge hype they got.

I get a feeling with them that they are more concerned with the way that they sound than with how good their songs are. Creating an image of their sound, to to speak.

We have hit a bit of form but I would never call us bankers, not with our threadbare squad.

we arent great but they made us look like world beaters!

gota say im a bit annoyed we have u at home next tues, havent missed a home league game in 22 years since i was 4 but really considering watching barca arsenal instead!

22 years! That is a hell of a run to break just for a last 16 champions league game on tv!

If you go to the match at least you will see a win (most likely)

yeh i will more than likely go down, its just annoying when a meaningless game clashes with a big champs league game

They are back soon definitely. while Joe has been making films Adam has been doing this. Credible in its own way.

Captain Lamps or Tevez for next GW and why?

Tevez for me because of his form and citys form at home, they are my two reason's

Wigan's away form is as good as Blackpools home form.
Chelsea have scored as many away as city have scored at home.

Also depends if you are trying to make up points as I doubt many teams will have Fat Frank in

Yeah I agree, i'm going for tevez as im holding a lead and no1 around me has lamps. I do think tevez will out score him but its a tough choice.

    Best alliteration ever?

    A. Beautifully busty, but brilliantly bossy Blackpool blonde belatedly blasts boring Britain’s barmy big bank bonuses (Mine 15 words)

    B. Facinatingly fancy frog flips feisty french fries facing forwards for fat, foreign financier fighting fidgeting fugitives (Cunning Stunts 16 words).
