Club in relegation struggle? Check. Passionate manager? Check. Jamie O’Hara signed on loan? Check. Wolves’ recent on-loan midfield acquisition certainly rings a bell similar to that of the player’s spell at Portsmouth last season.

Although Pompey were ultimately relegated, O’Hara was hugely influential in both their survival attempts and a memorable FA Cup run that saw the club reach last season‘s final. His industry and determination were rewarded with nine end of season club awards and, more pertinently for Fantasy Managers, the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) also noticed O’Hara’s efforts, dishing out 25 bonus points in the midfielder’s direction.

Sidelined until the New Year after undergoing back surgery, the player has only featured in a handful of competitive games this season and is probably some way from full match sharpness. Despite this, O’Hara has made an instant impact at Molineux and has quickly produced the goods for Big Mick‘s side, grabbing a goal in each of his last two Premier League games as well as picking up 2 and 3 Bonus Points respectively, for a 20 point FPL haul over two fixtures. Our Members should check out his OPTA Stats over the last few games to see just how much of an influence he already is to his new team.

O’Hara’s time at White Hart Lane looks like coming to an end and with Wolves‘ hopes of making the transfer permanent dependent on their top-flight survival, these next few games place him in the shop window for a summer move away from his parent club. The player certainly seems to have conceded defeat on his time at Tottenham, recently admitting:

“To be honest I can’t see myself playing for Spurs at the moment, it’s time for me to move on in my career.”

Wolves do not have the kindest of fixtures on the horizon (avl, new, EVE, stk, FUL, bir) with three of their next four away from Molineux. Big Mick’s men have been poor on the road this term, losing 11 of their 14 Premier League outings and desperately need to improve on their travels to boost any hopes of survival. Regardless of results however, there’s no doubt O’Hara will be at the forefront of much of their attacking flow and, priced at just £5.1m in FPL and with an ownership of 0.6%, could prove to be a key “differential” and all-round steal as the Fantasy Season enters the home stretch.

johnfinlay John swears he'll deliver unbiased Fantasy Premier League tips and news...until Leeds get promoted.

Is Ivanovic play this week? The only position he could play is RB.

    RMT time.

    Foster Begovic
    Kolarov Coleman Huth Carr Walker
    Nani Nasri Barton ARTETA FABREGAS
    Rooney Tevez Odemwingie

    0.0 in bank, 1 free.

Thinking of selling the 2 mids or Fabregas & Tevez to get RVP in.

Not sure what is the better plan.

    Any ideas?

That's the 3rd option. Arteta would have to go the week after. I could do Arteta & Tevez to a combo of the 2. I'll go through the money situation when I get home soon.

I'd wait until tomorrow night and see how Tevez plays. He may be gone from my team too unless he starts to buck his ideas up. I think the poor guy is genuinely knackered.

Cesc is just not the same player this season as last, so not worth the dosh.

Not sure that Lamps is either but he's finally hitting some form, although vs Copenhagen he looked lively but not a "must have" to me.

      So the first lot.

Your midfield looks ok though. Maybe get rid of Odem for Bent if you want a real differential.

If you ask me (which you didn't really), then the only way to use differentials to make up ground is to pick the guys who are on form, have low ownership and reasonable fixtures.

Duff, Bent, Sturridge, Ba, O'Hara are all on my watchlist.

He is due a goal or two?

Because he's tired and out of form and has too many fixtures and has competition from Dzeko and Ballboy?

Hart to find a reason to keep with rooney and rvp both looking much better options atm. To have all 3 would mean a lack of funds for midfield where there's a lot of good options in the 7.0 -> fatfrank price range.

He's been out of goal for 3 games in PL, so he could score big in Chelsea game. I'm not telling you to captain him but keeping him for another game or 2 games not going to hurt you in FPL long terms.

torn a couple of things so would appreciate some help:
    Current midfield and attack of:
    Nani/Brunt/Adam/Nasri/Nolan
    Saha/Tevez/Rooney

    Torn between Brunt to Bale/VDV
also 4pt hit to lose Saha for RVP
Or lose Tevez for RVP or no hit at all just the first one?

i have been thinking about my team as long term, and this is what i have come up with

    foster, begovic
    coleman, djourou, kolarov, huth, luiz
a young, adam, vdv, nani, nasri
    bent, rvp, rooney

now the thing is, i'm going to put lampard no matter what after this gw (after the city game). to do this, i need to trade either a young, nasri, vdv or nani. but the thing is, if i trade any of those (except nani), i have to get rid of bent for carroll. i just dont know how well carroll is going to play at liverpool. and because villa has good fixtures, trading him sounded crazy. so what i decided to do, was trade nani. if i do this, i can keep all the mids and forwards i have right now, if i downgrade huth and kol, to walker, and perch (i know, but he will never see the field on my team). i thought of trading nani because he is still healing, and since valencia and park are slowly coming back to health, that he may finally get rested. so this would be my team after this gw (taking an 8 pt hit)

    foster, begovic
coleman, djourou (will trade him for kelly when he's back), luiz, walker, perch
a young, adam, vdv, nasri, lampard
    bent, rvp, rooney

so what do you think? sorry for the wall of text

Must say im also considering ditching Nani simply because Valencia is back. Nani is at his best when he plays on the right so will just have to wait and see what happens.

On another note, generally speaking how many players are people missing from gw 33? I'm missing 8 so it's looking like an 8 point hit in the next few weeks & hope none of my other players get injured. With Saha and RVP in my team i wont be holding my breath!

2 Stoke, 2 United, 2 City and 2 Newcastle. And ive already used my transfer this week to buy Adam for Arteta.

              I'll probably end up doing
Kolarov, Evra, Huth and Nolan out
Walker, Luiz, Carr and Lampard in (if i can afford it)

Yeah, this is the conservative choice i agree - no point hits and 12 potential starters. Only problem is a few of them aren't nailed on (Coleman, Kolarov, Zigic, Berbatov), and I'm worried the likes of RVP could go nuts this week.

I think it's depend on weather you chasing the lead in your league or not, if you protecting the lead you can go safe but if you have to chase a big lead then go with your best bet. I have RVP and Tevez and thinking about keeping the pair for the run in.

Arteta to Downing and Berbs to Van Persie.

Getting a mid who could get you some serious points is better than getting a def who may only get you 1 pt this weekend.

Anyone with Arteta should consider replacing him first in my opinion as you will get a good points scoring player for that money.

Kolarov isn't really going to be dropped so he can still be played in your team if you have him. I do and got more important things to do with my transfers.

Sort of agree, but isn't Downing and A Young overkill?

I'd like to get Lampard and RVP in, but would have to ditch Baines & Tevez to raise enough money.

Baines, Arteta & Tevez -> Walker, Lampard & RVP (8 points)?

Doesn't help my defensive crisis with 2 definite non-starters, but so long as Coleman, Walker & Kolarov play I should be ok in defence.

Potential for big points in Lamps & RVP, but is the 8 point worth it?

Swap Baines with Kolarov and that's my planned 8-pointer.

It SHOULD be worth it - you're bringing in 2 potential captains and one consistent starter for a team with great fixtures for three players, one whose best fixtures are behind him, one who seems to be slightly off the boil at the moment and one who's injured.

Makes sense on paper at least!

Yeah I'd defintely do Kolarov instead of Baines but it leaves me short on cash. I suppose with Coleman I have at least some Everton coverage! I think I'm either this for 8 points (aggressive) or just Kelly -> Walker (defensive) for no points.

Sorry, I forgot you had Young.

It's up to you if you want to take an 8 pt hit this week. I'd say you don't need Lamps this week, so do 2 moves that will free up the cash to get Lamps next week.

Arteta to Adam and Kolarov to Walker frees up enough to get Lamps and van Persie next gw.

Scare factor is what RVP & Lamps could do this week - the above would leave Zigic and Tevez in, neither of whom I expect to score big.

Hi Evs - My team needs major surgery every week - how long are you going to hold onto Torres? Rooney (or Little Pea); RVP; Young or Downing; Bent; VDV/Bale; possibly Saha all look fair chances for bagging some points this weekend.

I'm looking at Lamps but not this week. Chelsea to win 1-0 v City perhaps??

Im alos looking at luiz, and need to shoot Brunt.

Then theres zigic, great fix if plays - no good on bench, Carrol?

Nothing concrete JB - waiting for news on Vidic, but his transfer out could give me a bit more cash to get in Lamps in gw32. So tentatively looking at:

          Vidic > Walker/Luiz
          Arteta > VDV/Bale
          Odem > Little Pea.

Another big question is do I hold onto Tevez? I could do Tevez > RVP/Rooney. So you see I am still undecided 🙂

    Guys

Why so little interest in Defoe? He's not a player I've ever liked much but he scored two excellent goals against Wolves, Spurs have great fixtures and he has a game in W33.
A front 3 of Rooney RVP Defoe could be very profitable in the next few weeks.

Ok ok, i jest. But the comment stems from consistency i think. Last season, Defoe had some tasty fixtures which i full invested in, armband and all. Got burn pretty bad. I think that i would prefer my 3rd striker to be cheaper and while they were good goals he scored i would like to see a bit more form before even considering.

      I agree.

But too many people on here have been burned by him before, so I think they'd rather have Bale or VdV instead for Spurs cover and maybe in for Bent or Gyan in that price range.

Getting Defoe is one of the many options I am considering this week as I have no Spurs cover at all in my team and think I need some with their run coming up.

Its him or VdV for me but not sure on VdV's fitness at th moment.

Yes, he's always seemed like a streaky player to me and with so many midfield options at the moment it could be a disaster. Not having a Spurs attacker seems like a mistake though considering their fixtures. Back to the drawing board.

soooo many options this week, I've decided I'm doing bentley to vdv but can't decide on a plan for my fwd's. It's either -
A)tevez -> rooney, then saha -> rvp next week
B)tevez -> rooney, saha -> rvp (both this week -4 pts)
C)screw roon and do tevez -> rvp, and either keep saha for 3 or 4 games or do saha -> suarez next week.

Bear in mind I'm planning to get lampard in gw32 and A or B means I'll get him in for nani, C means I can keep nani and get the fatman for meireles or nasri. I'm thinking that roon will outscore nani quite handily though for rest of the season so i'm leaning towards A or B.
Any thoughts or opinions are greatly appreciated guys.

Hi Champ. With Ars confidence low, WBA fighting for survival and Roy in charge I can't see it as a walk over for Arsenal. I am close to leave RVP out for one week. This internationals and potential injuries, are making me nervous. Rooney on the other hand could do real damage and could be captain to a lot of lads this GW that will cost u. I will probably keep Tevez but in your case u need the Roonster. Saha can stay and even I have a hunch that he will come good this weekend, do not sell him IMO. Next 2 games are at home so not selling material IMO.

So this GW Tevez - Rooney and will see next GW what will happen.

p.s. Nice rank last year. Congratulation.

its unlikely you get the points back going for a keeper. As he has no Arsenal I'd say your best bet would be to double up on that and do Berbatov>RVP but try and wait for team news, no one knows if Rooney will start or not...he should but Fergie is annoying that way.

Arteta>Downing would be my second choice, should come up with at least 5 points this week!

It'll probably come down to captain choice which I imagine would be Rooney?

yeah I suppose the gk trade doesn't make as much sense purely in fantasy cup terms. In terms of overall fpl league though the gk has to be done and it should be at worst a 2 point hit with a good chance of breaking even or profiting slightly.
I'll change my answer fuzz - just considering the cup fixture H) arteta -> young and bench adam or tevez. Still think the gk's the best bet overall though.

To be honest, I think he has advantage over your team a bit. It may comes down to your captain choice too. I don't think you should take more than 1 hit and prefer option b) since berb might not start this game. You should hopes for Man U and Bir to not get a CS this week.

    Some transfers I'm looking at:

    Tevez -> RVP
    Berbatov -> Rooney
Kolarov -> Ivanovic (rival has Luiz)
Coleman -> Baines (rival also has Coleman, Baines more reliable)

Which of these transfers should I do (note: more than one means 4pt hit)

Everybody considering Luiz, Ivanovic even Terry I want to let u know that Alex returning from injury is making me anxious about investment in Che defender. It seems that Cashley is the only one certain but he is expensive. If u r going Ivanovic, why not Cashley.

P.S. Cahsley seems like always scoring near the end of the season.

    Cricket.

This is an awesome comment on cricinfo

'Andrew Strauss, meanwhile, has just held what looks to be a very stern team meeting. Presumably to explain just how Luke Wright is going to win them the match. He managed to keep a straight face throughout, which is impressive.'

      Roach (c) maiden. Noice.

I'll no doubt regret not getting Gayle in, though.

    advice

    a) sit tight and play roger johnson away at wigan saving 2 freebies for next week

    b) do gutierrez to albrighton this week

u asked this before and having 2 freebies after the international is really tempting IMO.

      hey tosey,

i envy you can afford to do gutierrez to albrighton with no other pressing needs. By that logic, i think you should save the two freeones. You only have to use one next week, but anytime you can load up with two with a GW like 33 looming, thats a nice weapon. i just its a luxury transfer that isnt worth it. So long story short, i pick A.
