Club in relegation struggle? Check. Passionate manager? Check. Jamie O’Hara signed on loan? Check. Wolves’ recent on-loan midfield acquisition certainly rings a bell similar to that of the player’s spell at Portsmouth last season.

Although Pompey were ultimately relegated, O’Hara was hugely influential in both their survival attempts and a memorable FA Cup run that saw the club reach last season‘s final. His industry and determination were rewarded with nine end of season club awards and, more pertinently for Fantasy Managers, the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) also noticed O’Hara’s efforts, dishing out 25 bonus points in the midfielder’s direction.

Sidelined until the New Year after undergoing back surgery, the player has only featured in a handful of competitive games this season and is probably some way from full match sharpness. Despite this, O’Hara has made an instant impact at Molineux and has quickly produced the goods for Big Mick‘s side, grabbing a goal in each of his last two Premier League games as well as picking up 2 and 3 Bonus Points respectively, for a 20 point FPL haul over two fixtures. Our Members should check out his OPTA Stats over the last few games to see just how much of an influence he already is to his new team.

O’Hara’s time at White Hart Lane looks like coming to an end and with Wolves‘ hopes of making the transfer permanent dependent on their top-flight survival, these next few games place him in the shop window for a summer move away from his parent club. The player certainly seems to have conceded defeat on his time at Tottenham, recently admitting:

“To be honest I can’t see myself playing for Spurs at the moment, it’s time for me to move on in my career.”

Wolves do not have the kindest of fixtures on the horizon (avl, new, EVE, stk, FUL, bir) with three of their next four away from Molineux. Big Mick’s men have been poor on the road this term, losing 11 of their 14 Premier League outings and desperately need to improve on their travels to boost any hopes of survival. Regardless of results however, there’s no doubt O’Hara will be at the forefront of much of their attacking flow and, priced at just £5.1m in FPL and with an ownership of 0.6%, could prove to be a key “differential” and all-round steal as the Fantasy Season enters the home stretch.

johnfinlay John swears he'll deliver unbiased Fantasy Premier League tips and news...until Leeds get promoted.

From other page. Team in link. 4.3 in bank, 1 free this week. Bit of a way behind my rival and really need to start catching up.

Which transfers should I do this week? (Don'[t mind taking a 4pt hit, wary of taking any more of a hit unless it's really necessary).

    A. Tevez > RVP
    B. Berbatov > Rooney
    C. Kolarov > Ivanovic (rival has Luiz)
    D. Coleman > Baines (rival also has Coleman, Baines more reliable)

I think Kolarov to Ivanovic has its merits, seems reasonable to hold on to Djourou until we know more. Rafael might be another one to consider moving out as he's by no means secure and he's injured. Tevez to RVP seems tempting too but perhaps a bit of a luxury transfer if you've got injuries to deal with.

Thanks man. If VDV is playing this week then I should have a full 11. Do you think it would be worth saving Tevez -> RVP for next week and getting rid of Rafael this week so I'm definitely covered for injuries?

What do people think about Berbatov now?

    I had planned, Djourou + Berb > Walker + RVP (4pt)

Not got the cash for a Berb > RVP straight swap, and with the last tweet of Tevez being rested, shall I just go for a Tevez > RVP? Problem being I paid 11 for Tevez in Wk14, and he is now 12.

But that leaves me maybe a player short..

Really have too many options open at the moment that I can't decide on. Still have a WC to play too, maybe after this week so long term isn't essential.

Sir Alex says Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic are both unavailable for the weekend clash with Bolton. Vidic should be back after the international break. Jonny Evans could come back in "but it's a risk as he's been out so long". John O'Shea is out for five weeks, while Rafael will be missing for two or three weeks, both with hamstring injuries. On Rio, Sir Alex adds worryingly: "We may be lucky to get him back for part of this season."
