Club in relegation struggle? Check. Passionate manager? Check. Jamie O’Hara signed on loan? Check. Wolves’ recent on-loan midfield acquisition certainly rings a bell similar to that of the player’s spell at Portsmouth last season.

Although Pompey were ultimately relegated, O’Hara was hugely influential in both their survival attempts and a memorable FA Cup run that saw the club reach last season‘s final. His industry and determination were rewarded with nine end of season club awards and, more pertinently for Fantasy Managers, the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) also noticed O’Hara’s efforts, dishing out 25 bonus points in the midfielder’s direction.

Sidelined until the New Year after undergoing back surgery, the player has only featured in a handful of competitive games this season and is probably some way from full match sharpness. Despite this, O’Hara has made an instant impact at Molineux and has quickly produced the goods for Big Mick‘s side, grabbing a goal in each of his last two Premier League games as well as picking up 2 and 3 Bonus Points respectively, for a 20 point FPL haul over two fixtures. Our Members should check out his OPTA Stats over the last few games to see just how much of an influence he already is to his new team.

O’Hara’s time at White Hart Lane looks like coming to an end and with Wolves‘ hopes of making the transfer permanent dependent on their top-flight survival, these next few games place him in the shop window for a summer move away from his parent club. The player certainly seems to have conceded defeat on his time at Tottenham, recently admitting:

“To be honest I can’t see myself playing for Spurs at the moment, it’s time for me to move on in my career.”

Wolves do not have the kindest of fixtures on the horizon (avl, new, EVE, stk, FUL, bir) with three of their next four away from Molineux. Big Mick’s men have been poor on the road this term, losing 11 of their 14 Premier League outings and desperately need to improve on their travels to boost any hopes of survival. Regardless of results however, there’s no doubt O’Hara will be at the forefront of much of their attacking flow and, priced at just £5.1m in FPL and with an ownership of 0.6%, could prove to be a key “differential” and all-round steal as the Fantasy Season enters the home stretch.

johnfinlay John swears he'll deliver unbiased Fantasy Premier League tips and news...until Leeds get promoted.

Chelsea striker Borini who was supposed to have a "bright future" is moving onto Parma.....25 odd million spent on youth players from across the globe and nothing to show for it.

samuel (who i rate as better df than lucio) is injured

inter is 5 points behind milan, and 2nd behind tottenham in CL group

now TELL ME how come inter is better than last season ??? one great comeback performance doesn't mean they're better

Yeah managers are a complete waste of time. It's not as if they pick the team and the tactics or anything.

Although I do agree with you that people are underestimating Inter this year. Everyone seems to be focussed on the Spanish teams and obviously, being in England, the English teams. But I reckon Inter could spring a surprise, I certainly would not want them in the next round.

They have a chance but they look dodgy at the back including the keeper.

yes they beat bayern although bayern should have been out of sight by half time, this is the same bayern that are not going to win the bundesliga this season as their defence is very weak.

And they dont have everyone back from last season. Jose is no longer there. AND Milito is injured - have u heard of Milito? he scored a couple of important goals last season.

I do - it's obvious you don't really watch much football and/or haven't seen Inter's defence in action recently.

And all this twaddle about 'one true striker' in the world? Do you mean Eto'o? In which case Ronaldo and Messi have outscored him by around double this season which gives them a slight edge don't you think.

I wouldn't mind facing Barcelona tbh

Yes, they are an amazing team and yes, for me and everyone else Messi is the best player in the world but for all their undoubted ability there is a very good reason why we can beat them.

Xavi and Iniesta are said to be knackered after playing for the entire World Cup, the Confederations Cup and Euro 2008 in consecutive summers. They are said to be carrying injuries and if you look at Barcelona's recent league performances you'll see that they've been playing without too much effort, just trying to conserve strength.

You will also see that they are vulnerable in the last 30 minutes of matches where Arsenal showed that they can be rattled when the pressure is on.

We are not as good as the United of 2 seasons ago but I don't think we need to be. What is needed to beat Barcelona is hard work and players prepared to keep pressing and pressing when the chances are there.

For this reason I think our best chance of beating Barcelona is over 2 legs. I'm certain we can beat them at Old Trafford and also certain that we have enough 'destroyers' in our team to scrape a draw at the Nou Camp.

The irony being that our supporters have bemoaned a lack of flair in our team this season and that same 'quality' could be the thing that helps us get past Barcelona.

If Iniesta and Xavi are carrying knocks and are playing at less than 100%, I think someone like Darren Fletcher could be a key player. Is he as good as them? Hell no. Is he the kind of player that likes to spoil a party? Yes.

Have faith. Barcelona are good but we're due a good performance and why not against a team we have every motivation to beat.

Need to get rid of Huth, Kolarov, Evra, Nolan and possibly one of Simpson, Nani & Tevez.

so let's all of us on FFS use our collective heads and come up with the best way of beating Barcelona over two legs. Inter did it in 2008.

Which of the current teams in the draw are best equipped to do it this time do we think, and what formation would need to be played

Using mathematics and probablity. Its how Norway did so well in the 1990's

Sooner or later there will be a coach who does that.

Say Bolton were pitted against Barcelona over two legs, and with 5 minutes left of the first leg the coach told Paul Robinson to break Messi's leg and take the obvious red card.

I'm almost sure that sooner or later some team will do that, although possibly not in such an obvious way.

Yes Italy were dire after 2006.

But in 2006 under Lippi they had a host of players at their peaks who never played again.
Cannarvarno, Nesta (retired after), Totti (ret), Del (ret) Perio, Pirlo, Grosso, Zambrotta, Gatusso

They were excellent in the world cup and in the build up and were about 4 - 5 th favorite.

The Team that won the world cup under lippi was so much different from 2007 onwards under Donadoni. It was a spent force after the WC win

Are you really judging how good a team where in one era and a world cup by how another different manager and subsequent team played after that time. Terrible basis.

you said loads of ppl fancied them based on yourself and your bet. btw they drew with us and norway on the way to the finals. that must have really got the juices going and made you split your piggy bank right open. bottom line, they were lucky you can try to dress it up how you like, they were a poor champion

They drew away which isnt an easy ground to go to.
I was more basing their pre world cup form where they thumped Germany, Had an experienced winning coach in charge and had the best defence of the last 10 years.

                  "they were a poor champion"
Utter nonsense. Buffon, Cannarvo,Nesta,Pirlo, Gattuso,Zambrota, Totti where amongst the best if not the best players in their positions at the time.

Added to that Grosso, Perotta, Camor, Toni, De Rossi, Matterazi, Del Perio were going into the tournament close to if not in the best form of their lives.

They had an excellent excellent team marshaled by the best defender since Beckenbauer

Greendreams please stop its doing my head in.

The amount of stuff which you have got wrong and yet you persist is just odd.

To begin with "england thumped germany 5 -1 around that time, Germany were a team in transition"

That was 5 ! Yes 5 years before 2006. This Germany team Italy beat pre and during World cup got to the Semi final.

" luca toni had a totally cack tournament". You mixing up with Euro 2008. Toni scored goals and could have scored alot more. Check the final of the world cup or any group game or knock out game for the number of times he hit the post or crossbar besides the goals he scored. Or how well he was playing coming into to it. Over 30 odd league goals in a season

"most of their games finished 0-0"
Really? Again based in no facts
                    Italy 2 -0 Ghana, Italy 1 - I Usa, Italy 2 - Czech Rep 0, Italy 1- 0 Australia 0,Italy 3 - Ukraine 0, Italy 2- 0 Germany (Aet), Italy 1-France 1.

"your ignoring the fact that they were crap going forward."

Really with Del perio, Totti, Pirlo, Perotta, De Rossi, Toni, Gilardino, Iaquinta all on for,. And oh yes the 12 goals in 7 games at the highest level of football against the best teams under the biggest pressure.

"matterazi a big cheating piece of shit"
He had an amazing tournament, "

"gattusso, ex rangers reject," also CL winner and best player in his position at the time

"scotland were poor at the time and norway weren’t much better."
We are talking about the finals itself not the 2 years of qualifying prior to this. Team build and come together over a long peroid.

Again if you want to use this criteria lets throw Spain out as winners of 2008 as also crap as sure they lost at Windsor Park to lowly NI 18 months prior to them finals.

hit the crossbar and woodwork, does that count as goals, he scored 2 in how many games. i think you'll find grosso scored 2, a left back as opposed to a stiker and played how many games. point 1.
materazzi had a good tournament, doesn't change the fact he's a big cheating piece of shit. Gattusso, are you having a laugh. Champions league winner so was traore at liverpool, best player in his position at the time. says who ?

Argentina were the team to beat until they blew it against Germany, 1-0 up, took off Riquelme with 15 minutes to go, who was looking the real deal and the rest is history. The end of manager Pekerman who had them playing lurvly stuff!

can't be bothered reading all this malarky so I've probably missed something but totally agree with greendreams' original point that league tournaments are more of an indication to a teams ability than knockout tournaments.
Winning a KO tournament requires more luck - luck of the draw and luck on the day.
More managerial tactical nous is required to succeed in KO tournaments though imo.

no you've got it in 1, greece, denmark, etc etc. Denmark wo the Euros without even qualifying through the knockout stages. it tells you nothing about their ability. knockout tournaments, win 5 final games and you've done it, qualifying is down to luck/geographical location. no point saying much more. other than if you backed italy that year DB, you got lucky, the odds you quoted of 8-1 tell thier own story as favourites for the w/c can usually be as low as 4-1 / 9-2 and as far as i remember france were the hot favourites along with brazil

Van the man has made a few mistakes. Had alot of clashes with major players - Van Bommel
And his personality is seen as so large its to the detriment of the team who knew he was a goner for months

Also give the fact that aload of other big egos are around the club this was only waiting to happen.

The individuals are excellent but they have a poor defence and a dodo manager for the last number of weeks. Domestically Dortmund have surprised everyone which has only intensified the pressure on Van Haal

Bayern are good going forward, using a compact, fluid Dutch style, but can't defend for toffee - the hapless Breno's lapse for the Inter winner was typical of their season. And the fact that van Gaal selected Breno for such an important match is typical of his selection errors.

Equally striking is the absence this season of that stubborn "mia san mia" self-belief that usually characterizes Bayern sides. They fell apart after the Inter equalizer last night and allowed a relatively weak Italian team to out-think them.

There's no team spirit at "FC Hollywood" either, although that's always been in the case dating right back to the Matthäus days. Immediately after the match, forward Arjen Robben blamed the defence - and defender Philipp Lahm blamed the attack for missing seven clear chances.

Both of them had a point. After all, relying on Mario Gomez to score in important matches is a recipe for disaster.

They're still fifth, which is an incredible achievement for a small club. Everything that Jürgen Klopp has touched seems to be turning to gold this season.

Mainz have a really good atmosphere at their games, and now that they've got a new 34,000 capacity stadium, they've been able to expand next year's budget to 54 million euros.

    Kolarov, Walker, COleman, R.J., Simpson.

If there is reason for who to play even better. I think that lot of the lads will be in a similar boat regarding this defenders so it will helpful to the fantasy players out there.

So its either Simpson or R.J. ? R.J. is more bonus magnet and he haven't scored for my team still. Come on R.J goalll,!!!!

P.S. Newcatle has better CS odds than Bir. So be it.

Walker & Coleman of course and I'd play RJ out of the others for his set piece threat and he probably has a slightly better chance of cs.

No worries, interesting that newcastle has better cs odds. I suppose there's less goals in that game, and it's near impossible to predict which wigan will turn up where as stoke you know what you're gonna get. Can't be much in it though?

Ah no worries. Noticed that Paddy's Day cup thing so spent my time getting robbed in that. Seriously hammered the opposition both games and still lost to shite goals which they proceeded to fecking replay. I NEVER replay, unless the goal was mentally good. Tossers.

Unlucky, hate replays, I think I'll stick to the 4.5k one as I don't fancy myself at all online

I take it player prices are rising a lot now? I was going to get a few 1.5k players then sell them now for profit but didn't bother.

It is, Ultimate team is kind of like a career mode online. You enter tournaments (online or offline) to win coins, then use the coins to buy players. Players from the same country/team and even league have better chemistry which is v important in UT. You have to renew contracts which can be annoying, but it's a very good add on imo.

If their are any contriburers about, I don't think the season ticker is working quite right in the members section - if you define GW33 by dificulty it seems to think that Spurs v Arsenal is easier than Chelsea's double, and that Liverpool away at Arsenal is easier than Everton at home to Blackburn ?!

Still can't get my head round why Wolves are always top of the sort by difficulty either, when everyone that plays them has their fixture as dark blue !!

Who to play in GW30 out of:

    Begovic/Foster
    Coleman/Walker/Huth/Carr/Djourou
    Adam/Nani/Nasri/A. Young/VDV
    Rooney/Suarez/RVP

    Thinking:

    Begovic
    Coleman/Walker/Huth
    Nani/Nasri/A. Young/VDV
    Rooney/Suarez/RVP

Leaves me with no Birmingham defenders, but two from Stoke.

Tevez to RVP this GW, or wait one GW and save the transfer?

RVP could be easily injured in the internationals. High probability considering his early return. Plus I will loose 0.5 on Tevez and I will want him this season again surely.

And if the transfer is saved, I could find the cash for ultimate striking force(Tevez, RVP, Rooney) next GW.

    Cheers,

Imo there's more points to be had with rvp, roon & and a cheapie so you can afford the likes of vdv, lamps etc. in midfield.

Berbatov has scored 19 goals this season. Not ONE of those goals has been scored against any of the Champions League protagonists; he's a small team bully.

Boltons' away form is officially dire. One point out of a possible 21 in their last seven games away from the Reeebok is shocking stuff.

Conclusion? Berbatov to score twice on Saturday.

        GET ON!

Funny how Berbatov is always tarred with the 'flat track bully' brush, but Tevez never is. Despite the fact that Tevez has only scored one goal - a slightly fortunate one against Chelsea - against the same opposition that you mention.

After being snubbed so frequently in the last few weeks, I'd be astonished if Berba doesn't start at the weekend, and if he does - he may as well hand in a transfer request the moment the team sheet is announced.

He'll play, and he'll score. Fact.

WHAT!!! benn (c) was meant to be my differential. balls, relying on 2 batsmen now, never a good thing. having a mare lately, wrong captains and building an entire transfer plan that revolved around getting tahir with no back up plan due to his uniquely low price

Don't want to give Roach the armband this time, reckon he could go for a few, and the Chennai pitch is quite receptive to spin - it was Tahir and Peterson who destroyed England on the same pitch.

It was a choice between using the transfer now, to get Benn for the next two games, or using it right at the end to get any Indian of my choice in.

Would prefer to have Benn (c) twice, than to have Roach (c) and then someone like Zaheer (c). Plus I want to get rid of Tait, he could easily go for a few against a proper side like Pakistan.

Samir Nasri...Who'd have believed that 15 weeks after his show stealer against Fulham, he'd only have found the back of the net one more time? Even so, he'll probably end up the most transfered in player this gameweek!

    Include me out!

I think it will be better for all of us if we just forget this season ever happened! Unless of course Utd wins the title at the end 😀

I can see the title race getting a lot closer. Arsenal and Utd are having a "defensive crisis", Man City haven't been scoring much. I could see Tottenham making a push if they remain fit. Granted they play Chelsea, Man City and Liverpool away. But they rest of the fixtures are at home and an away at Wigan. And most of those home games are easy.

he's scored almost all his goals when playing fab's position behind the striker. Still a good choice for next 3 gw's though imo.

He's right though, the only thing messing with his potential is the return of RVP. You can pretty much spot the correlation, as RVP returned and got the points, Nasri was left with BPs. However, even though he's still pretty good, he hasn't been putting away shots on goal.

I remember a stat I saw a while ago that said he averages 2 shots per game from the wing as opposed to 5.5 when playing in the centre. As you say too rvp's return pushed him further down the set piece pecking order.

My team value is is hurting me badly with 9 GWs left (105.2).
Only my second season playing and didn’t have a clue last year.
Every team linked on here seems to have at least 2m more than me and my defence is seriously cheap as a result. I think my big mistake (money wise) of the season was holding onto Drogba, ACole and Malouda far too long after Chelsea lost form.
Don’t no why I posted that…just bored waiting for the next GW!
