There were precisely 1,638 entries for the qualifying round of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup IV, meaning only 32% of the total entrants joined our former Champions in the first round. Had the 126 Fantasy Managers who submitted their FPL Team Name, rather than their FPL ID Number, then that figure would’ve been a lot less.

However, if you did manage to submit your entry correctly, the magical score you needed in GW29 to get a spot in that first round (minus points spent on transfers of course) was 43.

That left the 47 Fantasy Managers sitting on 42 points hoping that their overall rank was good enough to fill one of the remaining 28 spots.

The line was drawn under 42,611th ranked RonnayBarkay, who enters the competition as number 512. Missing out by the narrowest of margins was the Chaser, who sits 44,221st in the world, and fails to make the cut.

The Scout Contributor’s have been slashed considerably, with Mark, I’m Not Marshal Foch, Sir Paulos, SUPERIOR BEING, Andy, johnfinlay, greek fan and elfozzie all bowing out.

An impressive 19 of the FPL top 100 entered the tournament, but 11 of those are not in the hat for the first round. The early exit of 7th in the world Doklett, 11th in the world Mince and 26th in the world Zophar, means 31st in the world oi keano is the highest ranked manager in the competition.

He’ll certainly be one to avoid in the draw, which will be announced later today.

Congratulations to those negotiating their way into the first round, and commiseration to the 1,129 that didn’t make it.

    CRICKET

    From the BBC:

Sarwan gets an edge... but it's away for four through the vacant slip cordon.

Why is the slip cordon vacant, we need wickets!!!!

Hey guys, just want some opinions on my team:
    Foster (Kingson)
Coleman, Bardsley, Johnson R (Djourou, Simpson)
Nani, Silva, Meireles, Lampard, A Young,
    RVP (C), Tevez (Beckford)

I already made one change, but i was thinking about Welbeck in for Beckford, then playing a 3-4-3 with Meireles on the bench. Any thoughts?

This is what I don't like about the review system. That was clearly out.

Where have they plucked this 'half a ball hitting the stumps is not out' from?

If the umpire had given it out and west indies had reveiwed it it would of stayed out.

I think it has to be drastically different to what the umpire said or something, stupid if you ask me.

Yeah, but as far as I'm concerned hitting the stumps IS drastically different to what the umpire said.

It's like it's only there for the umpires to save face for marginal calls.

Hawkeye is brilliant, so bloody well use it.

its a rule. just like the rule which says that a ball pitching outside leg stump is not out for an lbw.
review system is meant to change drastic mistakes, not when the ball is shaving half a stump.
and you cant really cry about it, theres been loads of decisions which have gone englands way in this exact manner during the world cup

I'm not saying that decision has cost us. I just disagree with it in principle.

I'm debating the definition of a "drastic mistake". Never in the history of international cricket has a ball hit the stumps half-full and not knocked the bails off.

There's the odd, freak occasion where it'll graze the stump and not remove the bails, but you can EASILY work out how much of the ball hitting the stumps gives even the tiniest possibility that the bails will not be removed.

Repost: (Probably not the time? With all you cricket geeks)

    March 17 at 4:11 pm
Need a little bit of help please.

Thinking of an 8 point hit this week to do.

Evra -> 5.5 Defender (Thinking Smalling, possibly Samba?, Fulham defender?)

    Barton -> Nasri

    Tevez -> Rooney

    Gives me this team.

    Begovic Foster
    Coleman Kolarov Clark Kelly 5.5
    Nasri Lampard Nani VDV Young
    Rooney Vela Saha

I know the defence needs sorting, but that can be done next week, Ok I have been telling myself this for ages now, but still….? What’d ya think? Any thoughts appreciated.
