Over 460 Fantasy Managers put their name in the hat for the Members’ Paddy Power Cup and now, eight rounds later, we are down to our final two. Before previewing the Grand Final, let’s take a look at how both finalists negotiated their way through the Semis…

Zophar 61 – 75 Kippax Kloggers

Roostars 66 – 71 The Hunt

In our first Semi-Final, big favourite Zophar suffered a hefty 14-point defeat at the hands of Kippax Kloggers. In a very similar fashion to his Quarter-Final dismissal of Cup legend Gooner dave, Kippax Kloggers’ win came courtesy of a strong defensive showing. With most of the outfield ‘cancelled out’, it was left to a double of Everton clean sheets and a bargain Manchester United one to ultimately prove the difference between the two sides. If Zophar -currently ranked 14th in the world in Fantasy Premier League (FPL)- can recover from this trauma, then he could possibly go win the whole thing, and we certainly wish him the best of luck in doing so.

The second Semi was a much tighter affair, with the key differentials being David Luiz in a 4-5-1 for Roostars, to Peter Odemwingie in a 3-4-3 for The Hunt. Roostars is also left bemoaning his failed four-point hit; removing Rafael van der Vaart and the suspended Wayne Rooney wasn’t costly, but replacing the pair with Frank Lampard and Javier Hernandez hardly turned out to be a fruitful move.

So, to the Final…

Kippax Kloggers Vs. The Hunt

Ranked 2,772nd in the world, Kippax Kloggers takes an early lead (effectively half a point) against 9,996th overall The Hunt. As it stands, he also goes into the double Gameweek an Arsenal player up (Samir Nasri) which could prove vital should The Hunt not level that particular balance. An interesting potential differential is Kippax Kloggers’ Fernando Torres to The Hunt’s David Luiz. Having said that I imagine Luiz will, like with many others, be high on Kippax Kloggers’ wish list.

The winner, of course, grabs all the glory which comes with a fantastic prize of £75 worth of free bets, as the runner-up takes the very healthy consolation of £100 worth of free bets.

Don’t forget that it’s also Zophar Vs. Roostars for third place, with the victor pocketing a cool £50 worth of free bets.

I’ll bring results of both matches next week when we crown the first ever winner of the Members-only Paddy Power Cup.

Bizarre suggestions. Downing has good fixtures til the end of the season and Foster is the best value keeper in the game.

How is it bizarre? Adam is the 2nd highest scoring midfielder and has 3 home games against Wigan, Newccastle & Stoke.

Downing is away to West Ham and West brom and has a home game against Stoke.

Cech will also keep a lot more clean sheets then Foster, that's why he has more points. He needs to stay ahead of his rival, the key is consistency, and Cech will give him that.

But foster gets the odd clean sheet and has more bonus point potential 145 saves to cech's 82...huge difference!

I wouldnt sell Downing, he is a keeper till the end. Great value imo.

I would start Djourou over Bardsley this week, definitely.

Maybe do Gordon->Begovic this week, and then Barton->O'Hara the following week. Do you have enough for that?

        Thereafter sell Huth for Dawson.

    Team this week:

    Foster
    Luiz, Coleman, Djourou
    Lampard, Nani, Meireles, Downing
    Rooney, RVP, Zigic

Bench: Al Habsi, Huth, Kolarov, Jarvis.

All of my bench has a blank, and Coleman, Djourou and Zigic are injury doubts.

    What would you do?

Bad suggestion. He is worth 4.0, and u cant really do better than him at that price. If he starts vs Liverpool, which I think he will, he will play all the remaining games, including the double. 4.0 for an arsenal defender is well worth it.

        I would do Coleman->Walker and Zigic->Carrol

Thanks man - hadn't seen your reply!

All valid man. I think I just soured on Kolarov because he had a bad week, but you're right, he does have good fixtures.

Coleman I'm not so convinced about - although he has good fixtures and may be fit, he's a rotation risk and hasn't been playing brilliantly anyway.

Djourou you're bang on right about - although don't know who to get in for him?

Zigic I can't wait to get rid of. I'm eyeing Carroll, but he's playing Arsenal so don't know whether to wait a week.

as long as you concentrate on your worst players you'll not go far wrong...because there are double gameweeks you have chances to take hits with a decent chance of getting the points back...that's why I prefer Sturridge to Carroll

but in your case I'd check what Wenger says about Djourou on Friday and then decide

Ahh so we're a pedantic, move the goal posts mid way through the game type are we. You were rude/smarmy (however you choose to label it) towards someone. I noticed. I made a sarcastic comment regarding it and you went mad. If id said 'no dribbler you can give an informed answer with the info foolaman has provided' that would indeed make this a 'right or wrong' situation. I did not do this. Yes he didnt type up his team for 'you' personally that is correct but you are just being pedantic beyond measure by highlighting that issue as it was clearly rather irrelevent to what i was trying to say. In summary you were rude to someone i highlighted it. You didnt like it being highlighted. Dont be rude and you wont have to deal with this again. Good day to you.

You're probably ahead because you've been doing something right so continue whatever you have been doing.

This week you should be okay. For the double in 34, maybe try to get in Zamora/Dempsey/ Sturridge or Walters. Also even if Djourou is fit, you might want to get Walker, better fixtures.

Hi Attila. I emailed Wildrover about the incident and also emailed Foolaman for breaking the T&C's with his comment - he acknowledged this and we've moved on.

It's very regretful that Wildrover should stop posting on the site or even stop visiting the site. Like I said though, an email went to Foolaman and he's been warned on making such comments towards other posters in the future.

I was thinking longterm, since all these players will be retired by the time i've finished the pizzas. So it's like loads of double gameweeks in a row.

Also, I've got a good freezer.

Then again i might do the 4 poin tshit because they do rotate well.

    Question.

During the season, whenever you're getting impatient with an out of form player, have you stuck with him by saying "he's going to come good"? If so, has a player ever "come good", i.e. good form, then bad form, then good form again.

Rooney for me this season, in general I try to have as much patience as possible with a player, Nasri this year is case in point, could of had a goal at the weekend but doesn't and it is getting hard so late in the season to keep faith.

It's the business end of the season, if a player isn't performing, and doesn't have a DGW this week, ship.

RVP got harder games than Lampard but I just feel he could score against both Liverpool and Spurs.

I can't ever remeber half a goal being scored in a game so how much do you want to bet?!

16/1 is good odds on Inter with their attacking talent - I might have a piece of that as well.

ill take 1000/1 too. where can we meet? actually, join betfair, ill put up a buy of odds 1000, you jsut have to lay that, and that'll be how we do it.Ill bet a tenner, so you just have to deposit 1000 on betfair and wait until i put a tenner up for 1000/1.

agreed? What time is convenient for you?:

I'm not sure betfair would allow that. Even if you allow yourself to get skinned by putting in terrible odds, they give you the best odds it can find.

    WILDROVER - Please come back

Shout out to anyone who might know wildrover..

Whilst having a giggle uasing a new word I heard at work it seems WildRover has left the Site - according to some users.. namely ATB

Whilst I am sure WildRover hasnt been on the site recently is because he is doing other things with his life - and the fact this anonymous forum bears no threat to no one no where - I am seriously asking him to make him self heard - Prob with typing is that sarcasm/ tone is totally lost - this is what has happened - To please do get the Bearded one back on this forum if we can and i promise to be a good boy and never say a bad word again...

        Nope its Torres and Drogba.
So anyone who says Drogba is a much better buy might want to reconsider.
That or bookies are fools, which i doubt

hmmm. but if a player doesn't play or isn't on the pitch when a goal is scored it's money back. For this reason chamakh is a short price for arsenal first goalscorer, just in case he plays.

So maybe theyre just putting them the same because they don't know who'll start?

          Or is it score anytime?

plus the bookies dont know the lineups any more than we do. so they put short prrices on both in the even either starts.

    Possible team for this week:

    Foster (Al-Habsi)

    Cole, Luiz, Djourou (Simpson, Huth)

    Nasri, Nani, Adam, VDV, Young

    Rooney, RVP (c) (Sturridge)

    Coleman > Cole
    Berbatov > Sturridge
    4 point hit

Should i take another hit and do Rooney > Drogba?

    Advice needed folks! Team is

    Szczesny (Hart)
    Carr Luiz Smalling (Kelly, Coleman)
    Nani Young Nasri Adam
    RVP(c) Drogba Welbeck

1 free transfer and 2.9 in the bank. Was going to bring in Cech but not sure if that's the best idea now that Szczesny is fit. I could bring in Terry but would need a hit to bring in Cole. Is anyone going for a Chelsea midfielder other than fatty?

Problem is: Walcott will probably get fewer minutes on the pitch.
