Following yesterday’s preview of the Members’ Paddy Power Cup Grand Final, the Fantasy Football Scout Cup IV approaches the half-way stage. Round Four sees us down to the final 64 Fantasy Managers, with another five rounds left to go. Here’s a round-up of the key events from Round Three last week, followed by the Fourth Round draw…

Two Fantasy Managers shared the top-score, with Clogger and joeforristal notching 90 points apiece. Their unlucky foes were mathsgeek (62) and bagpuss86 (66) respectively.

Unsurprisingly, those two match-ups were the highest aggregate scoring ties of the round. Spare a thought, though, for the randy badger, who, despite carding a score of 70, still lost out by four points to Passthebicuits, in what proved to be the highest losing score of the round.

The average score for the round was a touch under 61 which, by my low-standards, seems like a impressive stat. Not so impressive was pataka‘s appalling score of 28, which handed etxeberria (67) an easy passage into the last 64. The easiest of the round in fact, as no other two opponents were separated by a bigger margin.

One more ‘wooden spoon prize’ to hand out, as Cescy_11 (33) was eliminated by seph10 (47) in the lowest-scoring tie of the round.

An FFS Cup article wouldn’t be the same without mentioning FFS Cup III winner Gooner dave of course, and he casually strolled through courtesy of a 68 – 56 win over i campioni due.

There was heartbreak in the Scout camp, however, as “Last Scout Contributor Standing” Da beeeez fell 62 – 50 to malinista.

Elsewhere, Ninja_Fit_Saints squeezed past what was the highest-ranked Fantasy Manager in the third round, in 46th overall maximo78. It was tight however, with the Ninja prevailing by a single point, 62 – 61.

Closer still were the four fixtures decided by overall rank, as their Gameweek scores could not be split. Advancing by the narrowest of margins were droghedans, Pez, Wonderboys and jamrockfc.

Onto the next round then (fixtures available here), and one tie clearly stands-out…

Once again it’s 124th in the world Gooner dave drawing all the attention as he comes up against another site ‘regular’ in SammyC.

With maximo78 out-of-the-picture, it’s left to Off Regularly to be the competition’s top-dog. He’s ranked exactly 100th in the world and faces Morpheus in the fourth round.

Good luck to all 64 Fantasy Managers participating this week, and I’ll bring you the fourth round results a few days after the Gameweek has ended.

Akers Richard or Akers, as he is known, has been regularly haunting this site since July 2008. He is young and foolish, take what he says with a pinch of salt. Follow them on Twitter

    team now..

    Foster - Begovic
    Luiz - Smalling - Walker - (Kelly - Huth)
    Nani - Nasri - VDV - A.Young - Lampard
    Drogba - RVP - (Welbeck)

    1 Free transfer. Should I ..

    A) Kelly out, Carr or other 4.8m DF in .. just in case one of DF don't play this wk.

    B) VDV out, Adam in .. simply VDV in very poor form.

    C) A.Young out, Adam in .. keep VDV as he might explode in London derby. Villa normally poor away and Young moved to the wing in last match.

    D) Risk playing this team. Keep 2 Free for next DGW.

    Help please..

      What's ur front 8 RBJ?
I would bench him. Hodgson may have done well for a few weeks but I think he will go ultra cautious vs Chelsea and it will backfire.
Chelsea (and Carlo) have a point to prove after going out of Europe. I think they will win 2 or 3 nil.

Yep, bench Odem. I think Nani will play vs Citeh in the cup and will be benched vs Newc...so I'm thinkin of gettin rid of Nani. Loads on here say it's crazy, but I'll bring in Fabs for DGW.

This Nani thing is still doing my head in. If I sell him for Malouda I wont loose any money on him as already took him out when thought he was injured the other week then brought him back in.

    My team is linked.
Do you think there are any better options??
I am now doubting Nani playing against Newcastle and Malouda should get some game time both games so surely a worthwhile transfer at no cost???

Nothing I've heard. I believe Akers meant that Giggs will explode into flames and little bloody bits if asked to put in 3 90-minute shifts within a week ... and Park generally doesn't get solid runs starting.

Since they both played the CL game, they are cert to be sitting.

Of course, I just got home from work, so maybe something I'm missing, though.

                    Harmless fun.

Plenty of little tunes are good practice, if it wasn't for malaguena and that theme from the snooker, I would have been very bored when I started, trying to play pieces I couldn't manage.

There aren't pieces of music that are ok to interpret in different forms and ones that aren't ok. Everything's fair game.

hmm at least narrow down ur candidates....your not going to cap carr are you

i wouldnt cap nasri..cz hes not in form...drogs probably wont get 90 on both games.....fabs...nah..not capping ur keeper

and you really want a DGWER

so that leaves luiz lamps or RVP

im goin with RVP because hes far more consistent and in terms of games there not too much different...id say either lamps or RVP tho

AP - may I suggest that Park really wasn't that impressive in the week. Malouda and Cole had a lot of joy down the left in the first half, with Park and O'Shea struggling.

Just to prove I'm not being typically anti-Utd, I thought that Rooney was absolutely excellent.

park didnt really do much in the first half i agree but in the second half he got into good spaces..made good runs down the wing and caused chelseas defence alot of struggle and capped it off with a good goal

i dont kno why we didnt play valencia but park seems to do well in big games

Well funny you say that because it was the reverse of his usual game. Normally he's excellent defensively and a bumbling idiot going forward. The latter means i'm normally effing and jeffing at the screen 10 times a match but his passing, movement and shooting was top notch. Fair enough on the Cole Malouda reference though.

The Rooney quote is getting buggu'd 😀 The worm has turned for you and Mfaulk ( he even sort of praised him the other day!) All that's left is for Attila and DB to see the error of their ways and my mission is complete.

Bah! The point was always that Rooney isn't nearly as good as people (the media, Mancs) liked to make out last season, and I still completely stand by that. He's obviously a very good player though.

The media hype last season was so sickening that it gave the likes of me no choice but to continually berate Mr. Potato Head himself.

I absolutely agree with the analysis that Park was better offensively than defensively against Chelsea, but I think it's way over the top - and slightly patronizing - how Manchester United fans name him as one of the teams top performers against Chelsea.

Ji Sung Park is judged by completely different standards than any other players in the world, and why that is I will never know. Look at it this way, who was actually worse than Park against Chelsea? Perhaps O'Shea who was partnering Park on the right, but hardly anyone else.

Yeah, it is harsh. I felt it as soon as I wrote it.

I just think he gets credits so often for doing so little. Every team in the Premiership have at least 3 players who do exactly what Park does but for poorer teams, and they are regarded as completely average players. Which is exactly what I think Park is.

I think [and am ready to be corrected by Garg] that he means that Park is like the not very bright but hard working kid at school - who minds his manners and works diligently so is looked on favourably despite his lack of talents.
I can sort of see what he's saying, but for me Park has been a top pro - sits in the squad and always performs when called on.
