Following yesterday’s preview of the Members’ Paddy Power Cup Grand Final, the Fantasy Football Scout Cup IV approaches the half-way stage. Round Four sees us down to the final 64 Fantasy Managers, with another five rounds left to go. Here’s a round-up of the key events from Round Three last week, followed by the Fourth Round draw…

Two Fantasy Managers shared the top-score, with Clogger and joeforristal notching 90 points apiece. Their unlucky foes were mathsgeek (62) and bagpuss86 (66) respectively.

Unsurprisingly, those two match-ups were the highest aggregate scoring ties of the round. Spare a thought, though, for the randy badger, who, despite carding a score of 70, still lost out by four points to Passthebicuits, in what proved to be the highest losing score of the round.

The average score for the round was a touch under 61 which, by my low-standards, seems like a impressive stat. Not so impressive was pataka‘s appalling score of 28, which handed etxeberria (67) an easy passage into the last 64. The easiest of the round in fact, as no other two opponents were separated by a bigger margin.

One more ‘wooden spoon prize’ to hand out, as Cescy_11 (33) was eliminated by seph10 (47) in the lowest-scoring tie of the round.

An FFS Cup article wouldn’t be the same without mentioning FFS Cup III winner Gooner dave of course, and he casually strolled through courtesy of a 68 – 56 win over i campioni due.

There was heartbreak in the Scout camp, however, as “Last Scout Contributor Standing” Da beeeez fell 62 – 50 to malinista.

Elsewhere, Ninja_Fit_Saints squeezed past what was the highest-ranked Fantasy Manager in the third round, in 46th overall maximo78. It was tight however, with the Ninja prevailing by a single point, 62 – 61.

Closer still were the four fixtures decided by overall rank, as their Gameweek scores could not be split. Advancing by the narrowest of margins were droghedans, Pez, Wonderboys and jamrockfc.

Onto the next round then (fixtures available here), and one tie clearly stands-out…

Once again it’s 124th in the world Gooner dave drawing all the attention as he comes up against another site ‘regular’ in SammyC.

With maximo78 out-of-the-picture, it’s left to Off Regularly to be the competition’s top-dog. He’s ranked exactly 100th in the world and faces Morpheus in the fourth round.

Good luck to all 64 Fantasy Managers participating this week, and I’ll bring you the fourth round results a few days after the Gameweek has ended.

Ok lads usual shite. I tried to leave it as long as possible all week so as not to constantly be on about it. 60pt deficit to catch and I can't see how he's gonna get lamps in with the other problems he has this week. So after all my slagging I'm prob gonna have to get him. Which means the only way is Nani and Baines out leaving me with 5.3 for a def. It has to be a brum right? He'll have a chance to compensate my hit over the doubler and then from next week on he rotates nicely with Huth/Hange. Did I just answer my own Q or do people have a different suggestion.

No I think you're on the right track. Maybe Johnson or Ridgewell and Lampard.

Wouldn't go out of my way to get a Brum defender, they've effectively one game this week as I see Chelsea scoring twice against them.

True dog but that one game looks as good as any other teams to return a cleanie and the rest of their home games aren't bad either. Cheers boys thanks a million. Time to walk the walk.

7 - Didier Drogba has scored seven goals in just six Premier League games against West Brom. Bully.

Uh oh.... mind you WBA are tighter defensively than usual lately

or just get rid of coleman and go berba out for bent?

Off Regularly is my brother -- he'll be pleased when he does lose and the FFS commentary says "Morpheus beats Off Reguarly" as I think that's the only reason he chose his name.
