Carlos Tevez is rated as 50:50 for a return to action in the FA Cup Final according to reports surfacing this morning.

The striker’s hamstring tear is currently being assessed by Argentina’s team Doctor in Milan and is due to return to Eastlands to start his rehabilitation although, as yet, no date has been set for Tevez’s arrival back in Manchester. Today’s articles suggest that Roberto Mancini is due to consult his medical staff to receive an update on the situation and to make a decision on whether Tevez should make his return from Italy this week.

The latest reports appear to confirm the initial prognosis that had estimated a four-week absence for Tevez; despite the player’s own desire to play in the final, it’s clear that he is set to struggle to make the Wembley date. Realistically then, with speculation also surrounding his future at the club, Tevez may have made his last appearance for City.

For Fantasy Managers the absence of Tevez could prove significant – particularly when you begin to assess City’s end of season run-in and the prospect presented by Mario Balotelli.

City face a tricky trip to Ewood this weekend, but follow that with a run of three home matches in four with West Ham, Tottenham and Stoke all visiting Eastlands. The absence of Tevez would seem likely to cement a starting role for Balotelli – a realistic consideration up front for a Fantasy Premier League fee of 7.9. The young Italian is a far from a reliable prospect given his tendency to attract controversy and bookings but, with Edin Dzeko struggling to settle in the Premier League, Mancini’s faith in Balotelli to lead his attack looks solid.

Balotelli has scored 6 goals in 10 Premier League starts with a single assist and 6 FPL Bonus Points to his name. With 5 appearances from the bench, the striker has picked up 5 yellow cards and a red in his first season in the league. Always keen to be involved from set-plays, Balotelli would also seem likely to be granted penalty-taking duties with Tevez out of the side having already converted from the spot this season.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

JSP, I was taking a closer look at the footy tipster sheet you posted yesterday. It does look really good in theory, but I only looked at the Cardiff home games and found 3 or 4 errors, either the wrong score or wrong outcome. That's about a quarter of them wrong, so if that's the same for all teams then I wonder how much help it really is. Not much you can do with info that's unreliable. Shame really -especially if you're thinking of betting on overseas leagues where you only have that as your source.

      Hmmmm...

I'd like to think in the most part that it's fine, the only one I checked was Peterborough's home games (to check whether 95% of them really had gone over 2.5 goals), and that was accurate. But pretty worrying if it's that badly wrong about Cardiff...

Tempted to make a similar spreadsheet myself next season, although on a much smaller scale. It's probably the only way to ensure that it's accurate.

Hopefully I can do the same again. Predict the future.

Not looked at the odds yet, but if they're any good I've got in mind a treble of:

      Barca win
Spurs Arsenal either both teams to score, or +2.5 goals
      Chelsea win

I'll have a decent look when I get home though.

        Barca - evens
        Over 2.5 Spurs-Arsenal - 4/5
        Chelsea - 2/9

I think that's what they were when I made a similar bet on Bet365.

I think Barca will win quite comfortably. The game at the weekend was a dead rubber in reality, could even be tempted by a -1 if the odds are decent enough.

I'm not happy with Begovic as my only DGW player. Do you think it's good idea to do Fabregas -> O'Hara/Walter ? I also need to free up money to get some City coverage for next week.

"Do you think it's a good idea..." instead of "Do you think it's good idea..."
      "I'm" instead of "Im"
      Capital E for English
      Walters, not Walter

      Otherwise perfect!

Out of O'Hara and Walters I'd prefer O'Hara. He's got better fixtures for the rest of the season, more to play for and doesn't have the distraction of an FA Cup final.

i feel it's definitive crunch time for me tonight, (after all the previous crunch times....) 70 behind (have gained 20 with a score of 82), and i feel if i can bring it back under 50, it's game on for the cahs prize for the remaining gameweeks.

    i have

foster, Ridgewell, Carr, Nasri, RVP, Ivan, Drogba, Lamps (c)

    He has

Johnson, Malouda, Ivan, Luiz, Rvp (c)

It's gonna take some odd odd results for me not to at least gain SOMETHING on the f*cker. But the way this season has gone, im taking nowt for granted.

Anyway, praying for drogba and lampard big scores, with a sneaky ridgewell and nasri goal. I think this game will have truly made me happy for the first time this season if all that happened!

    Huth Luiz Walker Coleman Johnson
    Nani Nasri Malouda Barton Adam
    Bent RVP Drogba

                    questions:

who is the guy in the black shirt who runs from left to right at the bottom of the picture pointing back at the enraged fans? (the conductor maybe?)

                    and

who's black jacket is being thrown around in the melee and does the owner retrieve it?

Anyone think Adam is done for the season? Been out of form for a few weeks and has had niggling injuries for a bit. His big score 3-4 weeks ago was mainly due to a dodgy pen and admittedly a good free kick. He hasn't played well since then.

Most rivals have him, but I'm thinking about selling as I think injuries and a long season is now taking it's toll.

Yeah I'm thinking this too, Adam's taken all the headlines but in reality his @rse has been covered by Vaughan's passing and holding. Vaughan's now injured and blackpool and Adam are now in decline.

I'm thinking of getting shot of him now too

I've got a project for the closed season if someone has far too much time on their hands.
Work out what the maximum points achievable this season was.
Starting with the week 1 dream team and transering in the dreamweek players from the next week that score more than 4 points over your current team.
    Any takers ?

Kind of tempted. Arsenal and Chelsea coming up and if United win both of those they might have the title already in the back for the next two games. Not sure what to make of that.

Last game of the season home to Blackpool might be an odd match. Christ, United could have already won the league and Blackpool could already be relegated. What if Blackpool need a point to stay up? Blackpool could really go for it. All sorts of scenarios, but you have to wonder if the likes of Bebe will be given a chance to play. Though tbh, Nani still needs experience.

That being said Nani doesn't need 90 minutes to pull off impressive point hauls. I'm keeping him in because his high ownership. I don't want to get screwed by a 15 pointer

            1. It's a question of balance, for me. I'm doing a 12 point hit, and I think I'm choosing Elmander, Dempsey, Etherington and Jarvis as the incomers ... I've put quite a lot of thought into this, and they seem right at the mo. 🙂

            2. Sturridge is hot - but will he remain so? I think Bolton will revert to type after the semi-final, and for me, that means more chances for Elmander, while Davis and Sturridge fight and scurry ... I'm probably wrong though. Also looking at Gyan and Carroll - two very good Home games each ...

team linked, with 2 frees looking to get some DGW players in (only have huth)...

First transfer: szczesny -> shwarzer (rotates well with harper till end of season if harper fit)

Also want to get rid of nani so options are:

      1. nani -> dempsey (play 3-5-2 with Odem benched) no pts hit
      2. nani -> dempsey + nolan -> etherington/ohara (play 3-5-2 Odem benched) 4 pt hit
      3. nani -> demspey/etherington/ohara + odem -> zamora (play 3-4-3 Nolan benched) 4pt hit

indecison caused by odem's great form and nolan having fixture away to blp

      thoughts?

My problem this week is who to transfer out, I'm thinking I really need to get rid of simpson and/or foler from DF, but the players more likely to do well out of the double are MF and FW (zamora, dempsey, walters, ohara).

Any advice on what to do please? Even if i just play a 3man defence i have coleman away to manyoo who probably won't get much out of the game.

Was thinking of doing Foley to huth and adam to ohara this week but then I'd have no fulham cover and stoke are piss-poor away plus they have a final on the way. Any help appreciated!

          ok, fair points...Im essentially asking..

          Welbeck-Zamora

          or

          Nasri-Ethers/Dempsey/Ohara etc.....

          Inalize..>Saha eh, ouch!
Still in top 5000 though..nice going, whats up with this new fashion of captaining players you know wont play....just to show you know how the auto capt works?! Or mind games?!

TT - Stockdale(c) = just trying to have some fun now that we are getting towards the end of the season. (actuallt trying to p*ss my main rival)

When I really need my auto capt to help out the armband in most cases end up on a player i don't want, so It's just nice to have "some" control over it in a week that there are blanks/doubles.

            😈

              Fair play....

Figured as much...Although when I do get to pop on here at the minute the snese of humour seems low, some very annoyed people! Bet when I pop on later if I can it will be the same!

              Cheers
