From the outset, this was always looking like a tricky double gameweek for the four teams involved and today’s results only offered confirmation. While Bolton still have their two games to go (ARS & ful), owners of Wolves players will be cursing their luck as the likes of Jamie O’Hara and Matthew Jarvis drew blanks this afternoon, allowing the unlikely duo of Karl Henry and Steven Fletcher to pick up the points, with an assist and a goal respectively in the 1-1 draw with Fulham at Molineux. Wolves next game, a trip to the Britannia to face a Stoke side in their first home game since grabbing a place in the FA Cup Final, looks a difficult fixture that hardly inspires hope.

Fantasy Owners of both Stoke and Fulham players, on the other hand, should still approach the midweek games with plenty optimism. Both clubs are facing very winnable home ties and a reminder of their home form should offer some reassurance.

Fulham are unbeaten in their last six games at Craven Cottage, winning five and drawing the other. This run has saw them average two goals a game and chalk up a fantastic five clean sheets. Bolton, their midweek opponents, have lost eight of their last nine away and have never scored more than once in that run.

So if you’re one of the 112,000 that drafted in Clint Dempsey this week, fear not. Pre-Bonus allocation, the American may have returned just two points, but this gameweek is far from finished for Fulham. The same applies to owners of Bobby Zamora, who was drafted by 72,000 managers, only to start the proceedings on the bench. Zamora did grab an assist in his 22 minute second-half cameo and today’s rest may strengthen his chances of a midweek start.

Stoke’s home form? Almost as good. Four wins and two draws in six, with three clean sheets and an average of just over two goals per game should brighten the evening of Fantasy managers frustrated after the 1-1 draw at Villa Park. Midweek opponents Wolves have picked up eight away points all season and Pulis’ side look likely to take advantage.

While Kenwyne Jones has already vindicated his selection in Big Dunc’s Spot the Differential, next Tuesday’s match offers other a second bit at the cherry for the rest of Pulis’ side. In particular, for owners of Robert Huth or Matthew Etherington-subject of 43,000 and 76,000 transfers in respectively- there’s still 90 minutes against Big Mick’s boys to go….

    So Cox scores a goal like that and it doesn't even get a mention in the analysis? Also, what does Odemwingie have to do to get the credit he deserves? If a young English striker had the season Odemwingie has people in this country would be jizzing their pants.

      I would guess it will stay. FPL mostly seem to remove only complete howlers and will maintain Zamora got the touch.

      Mereiles' should go though. It's just not an assist according to the FPL rules.

          Ha! Mereiles' shot was parried by the keeper and then massively deflected into Rodriguez's path by the Birmingham defender. The rules say that's not an assist.

          Zamora's is an assist if you say he got the touch, which I'm assuming FPL will continue to do.

              in h2h7, it's all about survival with 13 being relegated. some teams with solid scores are going to be out unfortunately. a nice week for you Gnu, but not much room for comfort. best of luck.

          Next two GWs are going to require a bit of thought in trades. Foster seems to have only got a corky.

          I guess priorities for me will be getting a couple of Man City players in (have VdV and not sure if worth getting any other Tott). Maybe YaYa and Hart in? It seems Tevez won't be right for the DGW.

          So maybe over the two weeks, two or three of...
          Etherington->YaYa
          Al Habsi->Hart
          Zamora->???

          Not sure about Nani - but probably have bigger fish to fry. And have quite a bit in the bank (5.3m)

    Very quiet this morning for some reason.

    To all those people who doubted that Drogba would start and I convinced them that he would, I apologise for the fact that even though I was vindicated he scored an impressive 2 points vs Tores's 6.

    And Adam got lucky.

    Haven't seen the Zamora assist yet so don't know whether it will stand or not. Walters in seemed like a good idea at the time but both him and Etherington didn't do very much to impress.

    Scored above average though, even without Lamps as captain. 🙂

      HITS.

      HIT 1. Nasri to Walters...who knows. If I hadn't of done this though I would have played Adam and got another 3 points. Add that to the 4 for the hit and I'm 7 points down. Walters needs a goal in the next game to sort me out. and probably just about break even.

      HIT 2. The last minute change from Smalling to Hangeland for the 8 point hit was looking like it was going to pay off. Now I realise that Walker would have come in for 5 points meaning that 5 and 4 for the hit is 9 that Hangeland has to make up. At least he has 1!!! A clean sheet AND full bonus would see me better the hit by 1.

      So what do I learn (I've seemed to forget it every time I learnt it before)?? Don't take hits for 1 week. Unless you think there is a run of better games that you can also benefit from in addition to there being a good chance for points in the week they are playing they it just isn't worth it.

      Going into the gameweek and being 15 points behind my rival that could now by a cool 7 with games still to go.

      Take Drogba last week. Taking the hit to swap him for Rooney would have been a good idea. Even if Rooney had of got a hatrick last week the following game against West Ham was much easier than one against Everton. The fact they both got 2 points is beside the point. There was a damn good chance it was worth it.

      To be fair this may all change by midweek with both Fulham and Stoke playing at home. Hangeland may get a clean sheet and a goal, 3 bonus points and Walters may get a hatrick. I am dreaming of course as this will never happen.

      35. Huth > Kolarov
      36. Walters > Yaya
      37. Zamora > Odemthingy

              Yeah - I am thinking ahead of time with trades too (see above), but I know injuries, etc. can happen with games to go. Knowing that there will be a stampede of people getting off some of the DGW players does make me a little nervous and need to be prepared.

                Think it was compounded with drinking too much AND seeing none of my bets come in. Those are FPL bets not real ones with Paddy Power or anything. Man I hate this game sometimes but it just makes me more determined to come back stronger next year....it's not like I'm going to give this game up or anything rash like that.

                Don't think I was asking for advice either. More just ranting and posting what moves I'd make in the coming weeks whilst avoiding the hits. I think the moves I've got planned are perfect and there would be no advice to give 😉

                (The choice was between Odemwingie and Adam, so not that bad this week)

                GW31: Odemwingie 10pts
                GW30: Odemwingie 8pts

                I am not worried about this week - should score ok, esp if RvP piles on the points.

                    To be continued on the next page....

                    And don't mention Captain choices. I just downloaded that greasemonkey script and the Razza add-in.

                    Hard not to cry when I look at my captains choice stats over this season.

                      Yes, captain choices. But it is my 1st year playing this, so it is all a learning exercise. Still want to win my main league though 😉

                        It's the first season where I've actually paid attention. Lost interest for a bit for a while mid-season but discovered recently that it's best to avoid this board during the day and ask for advice in the early hours of the morning (My time) when the egotits have gone to bed.

                        My arch nemesis is virtually uncatchable, but in my other mini league then I'm only 9 points behind the leader so there's hope for me yet.

                        What is this script you talk of?
