In the final match of gameweek 34, Bolton took their dreadful form on the road to Craven Cottage, a ground that’s virtually a fortress under Mark Hughes. There was only ever going to be one winner here, and so it proved; a Clint Dempsey brace eased any lingering relegation doubts for Fulham as they ran out emphatic winners, while the American’s Fantasy owners enjoyed an evening that transformed a decent gameweek into a great one. Here’s the lowdown on last night’s events…

Clint Dempsey
Dempsey’s double took his goals tally to 12 this season, and was duly awarded 3 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) Bonus Points for his display. Given that Fulham’s three forwards have managed nine between them, Dempsey’s importance to this side cannot be downplayed. Surprisingly, this was the first time he had found the net at home since gameweek 22, back in January, and the 16 point haul means he’s now the fourth-highest scoring FPL midfielder. Top of our Captain Poll going into the gameweek, those who handed Dempsey the FPL armband were delivered rich rewards for their foresight.

Dempsey, who will travel to face the obliging Sunderland defence at the weekend, was understandably delighted with his showing…

“I was fired up to get goals because I haven’t scored in three games..I was starting to get the itch a little and feel the pressure to perform, so it was good that I was able to do that tonight and help be a part of the team’s success in getting the three points to get us into the top half of the table.”

Fulham Prevail Despite Injuries
With Damian Duff missing the double gameweek completely due to an Achilles problem and Bobby Zamora still feeling his way back to fitness, Fulham could have been expected to struggle for goals last night but Craven Cottage seems to add an extra edge to their play; it’s six wins and one draw from seven, with six clean sheets thrown in for good measure. Mark Hughes can surely relax now; with 42 points Fulham should be safe, though with (sun, LIV, bir, ARS) left to come, the home record will be put under further scrutiny.

Bolton’s Away Day Blues Continue
Daniel Sturridge failed to recover from an ankle knock sustained in the weekend win over Arsenal, forcing Owen Coyle to start Kevin Davies and Johan Elmander together up front for the first time since gameweek 25. Bolton arrived in good spirit after beating Arsenal to banish those FA Cup Semi Final blues, but gave a toothless performance here. Sturridge’s loss didn’t help, though it’s worth noting that he had failed to score in his last two away games.

Bolton have one point from their last nine games on the road and though with their next three fixtures all definitely winnable, Coyle will be calling on his troops for another morale-boosting performance after another forgettable display away from the Reebok.

Trotters Limping Towards Ewood Clash
In addition to the ankle injury carried by Sturridge, Bolton also lost Mark Davies prior to the game with his own ankle problems. Gretar Steinsson then turned his knee during last night’s match and was forced off on 67 minutes. He will go into the weekend clash at Blackburn as a doubt along with Sturridge and Davies.

Carroll: Ok, he got me some steady points but nothin massive and got injured...lost me money
Odemwingie: Had him twice and both times he did nothing
    Zigic: Speak for himself
    Zamora: Failed

Morning y'all, can I get a little help on my transfers. Trying to block one mate who's 30 pts behind but trying (in vain) to catch 80 pts up also. My transfer plans basically come down to ditching Fabs or A Young for a City replacement and Zamora > Saurez, who I'll captain. So could I get a quick vote:
    A) Terry, A Young + Zamora > Simpson, Silva + Suarez
    B) Terry, A Young + Zamora > Lescott, Yaya + Suarez
    C) Fabs + Zamora > Silva + Suarez
    D) Fabs + Zamora > Kuyt + Ballotelli

    Any help appreciated.

    Begovic Foster
    Carr Ivanovic Luiz Shawcross Coleman
    Ohara Fabregas Walcott Nani Young
    RVP Dembele Sturridge

I don't even know where to start right now, was thinking of only two transfers but i need to lose one of the Chelsea pair, probably the Arsenal midfielders and Dembele..

I was tepmted by that move also,

It looks like an 8 point hit might be on the cards to the only problem is i'm trying to cling on to a 60 point lead..

If i was to lose Ivanovic it would be to Lescott

        Then possibly Fabs to Silva/Kuyt

4 rises i 4 days, that must be a record. That is why I both him in 11.25 I saw all the transfers and I was little bit scared what will happen if he performs. To many transfers and a lot of them possible captaincy's so I sold the top fpl scorer for him for a 4 point hit.

Pretty sure it isn't the dead teams picking him. Lets face it only a small percentage are still playing FPL now. Plenty of the top 100K overall would have got him in for the 200K transfers in last week.

So what's everyone doing with the Man City and Tottenham double coming up?

VdV seems essential and maybe a City defender...but Kolarov or Lescott? Yaya Toure worth a look as well maybe? I'm finding this double very tricky to plan for.

i have taken a 4point hit already top bring kuyt in for walcott am happy to take another 8point hit to bring in some differentials so am happy to lose anyone!

    what should i do?

notice alot of guys are talking about silva but is he really worth a point hit? yaya is another option as well as VdV.

My decision to get on the FFS bandwagon and bring in Frank Lampard in GW 32 is costing me dearly.

His high price meant sacrifices were made and it has f**ked up my team completely. My mini-league lead has gone from 72 to 37 over the course of DGW 33 and 34.

I fear il lose that 37 point lead completely now. My confidence is my own decision making is shot.

I've had him since around then and he's done me proud. I wouldn't worry too much...the highest scoring players are not necessarily the most expensive.

On my watch list are YaYa Toure, Lescott, Hernandez, Odemwingie...all pretty cheap. Lampard is playing more attacking now and is probably your safest bet for pts in Chelsea's team over the coming weeks.

Relax mate, my lead is down to 19p and my other rival reduced his deficit from 91 to 39 within the last couple of days. I still enjoy the battle till GW38. I had my minileague wrapped up very early last season, but I prefer it this way.

Take a hit, if needed, to get the balance back in your team.

Agreed MrTorres...we said a few weeks back in the Masterplan that Nani would prove a differential. Those who gambled on getting rid and those who sat still and hoped for his goals to return. It's turned out to be a major differential so far...will be interesting to see if Nani owners can earn from the Arsenal and Chelsea games.

Could really use some help with transfers, I'm at a bit of a loss and my minileague lead has been cut to 15 points. Team is:

    Foster - Begovic
    Terry - Luiz - Walker - Simpson - Baird
    Nani(SILVA) - Lampard - Barton - Adam - Dempsey(VDV)
Van persie - Rooney - Carroll

I'm pretty sure I'm doing Nani > Silva this week and Dempsey > VDV next week. Wouldn't mind getting a City defender this week for a hit too, maybe Terry > Lescott. What do you think? Anything else you'd recommend?

Was thinking along those lines, he has a fair few from the last DGW which implies he'll probably try to cover this one pretty well too. His main differential from me is Drogba but I think I want to keep Rooney for MUN's last two games

Still can't decide on my backline for this week.
    Mignolet/Foster

    Luiz, Baines, Huth, Bardsley, Walker.

I was thinking of playing Mignolet with Luiz, Baines and Huth although Wolves are that bad I could see Bham keeping clean sheet in which case I would Bring in Foster and swap Huth for Bardsley.

Am I making the right move???

For you I'd say a new keeper is essential, but you don't really have the money to cover that with the transfers you've made 😕

    Luiz - Carr - Huth
    Nani - Silva - VDV - Lampard - A.Young

a bit uncomfortable with 1) no Liverpool coverage 2) only 1 City and 3) no Odemwingie.. what transfer should be good for this week?

A: Kuyt in , Nani out
