The Dugout Discussion opens up bright and early on this Bank Holiday Sunday as we look forward to a bumper feast of footballing action.

Birmingham play host to Wolves and Liverpool welcome Newcastle to Anfield first as the mid-day kick-offs see all those skippering Dirk Kuyt and Luis Suarez (yours truly included) hoping for a good start. Then it’s Arsenal’s turn to host Manchester United as Alex Ferguson looks to either get one hand firmly on the Premier League trophy or open up a crunch game with Chelsea next week. Finally, Manchester City play host to bottom of the table West Ham as all those backing David Silva with their captaincy are made to wait.

Full line-ups sourced from the official website on our two early kick-offs follow…

Birmingham XI: Foster; Carr, Johnson, Jiranek, Ridgewell; Larsson, Ferguson, Bowyer, Gardner; Phillips, Jerome

Wolves XI: Hennessey; Mancienne, Stearman, Craddock, Elokobi; Foley, O’Hara, Henry, Jarvis; Fletcher, Ward.

Two changes for the home side see Barry Ferguson and Kevin Phillips bring their many years of experience back to the starting XI in place of Keith Fahey and Aleksander Hleb. A fit again George Elokobi comes straight back in to the side, while Kevin Foley also starts as Wolves also make two changes.

Liverpool XI: Reina; Flanagan, Carragher, Skrtel, Johnson; Lucas, Spearing, Maxi, Meireles; Kuyt, Suarez

Newcastle XI: Krul; Simpson, Williamson, Coloccini, Jose Enrique; Barton, Tiote, Nolan, Gutierrez; Ameobi, Lovenkrands

Andy Carroll has to make do with a place on the bench versus his old side, so hat-trick hero Maxi Rodriguez retains his place while Dirk Kuyt stays up front. Glen Johnson also returns from injury. Newcastle are unchanged.

Three games on the trot, televised, with little room for a break inbetween. Time to settle in, head into the Dugout Discussion if it takes your fancy, and look forward to six hours of consecutive Premier League action.

Just seen the Larsson goal, and think there is a very good case for that being a Foster assist. Mancienne's intervention only alters the height of the ball, not the direction.

If Walters got the assist for his cross which changed massively in both height and direction after the semi-block, then Foster should bloody well get this one!

Keane also got the assist for Demba Ba's goal when it clearly hit lescott and then to Ba.

You people can't really compare the Hart assist with the Foster one today? Mancienne basically controlled the ball to Larsson with the back of his head, whereas the Wigan player got a very small touch on the ball and the wet pitch did the rest. If the touch today isn't significant then nothing is and all deflections should be given as assists.

No Chelsea influence has cost you.

Coleman, Luiz, Carr, Walker & Djourou gives you weak defensive options for next week.

Defensive choices for the double gamesweek look limited - Kolarov gives you goalscoring/assist potential. Zabaleta is unlikely to repeat today's feat. Not much goalscoring potential in the Spurs defence, aside from Dawson.

Tbh - VDV & Silva & 1 other looks reasonable coverage for the dgw. Coleman & Djourou need to come out of your defence. Gary Cahill perhaps for next week v Sunderland?

Odemwingie & Sturidge if fit look decent options for the rest of the season upfront.

FAQ FPL Help - Bonus points

The three best performing players in each match will receive additional bonus points. Three points will be awarded to the best player, two to the second best and a single point to the third.

Player performance is assessed by Press Association analysts, all of whom are ex-professional footballers, who attend each match. This assessment takes into account the quality of a player's overall performance and their contribution to the match result.

Bonus points are awarded within 1 hour of the last match of the day finishing.

    ..best performance??

The opta stats confirm that Silva was one of most influential midfielders this gamesweek, never mind the game itself; not surprisingly, for somebody who only played half of a gaame, I spent most of my time looking down the player's stats list for De Jong's scintillating contribution.

The only thing they did have the same was 'shots on target' - both 1.

PS. I'm also sure somebody came on here and said they were captaining De Jong this week. Anybody confirm?

I wonder will Kuyt keep penalty duties when Gerrard returns (next season)

He's taken 8, scored 8..How can they take them off him?

They gave it as an own goal for most of the match, with a Zabaleta assist. But then they changed it to a Zabaleta goal and Silva assist. It will stay now.

Was given as an OG but then credited to Zabaleta.
      Silva assist.

I have Silva captain, so obviously I'd like it to stay, but honestly, it's an og for me.

Although earlier on in the season, when Suarez scored his first for Liverpool, I'm adamant that should've been an og, not a Suarez goal. So, I think it's an og, but if Suarez got to keep his, Zabaleta (and hence a Silva assist) should get to keep the goal too. Bit iffy in all.

anyone emailing for the foster assist to be put back? im not asking if it was one or not, i reckon it was.

so who's emailing? Takes a minute, and you might get a crucial 3 points back!! Do it if you have him!

Here's the template, just copy and paste this into your email

    Dear FPL,

great job as always guys, loving the game this year and the new rules. But i think you forgot to add Foster's assist for Birmingham's goal. IT was the same as the Joe Jart one earlier in the season, and the defender didnt cause any sort of significant deflection. It should be Foster's assist. Can you please review this?

    Thanks, much appreciated.
