The penultimate Gameweek of the season sees four Fantasy Managers go head to head in the Fantasy Football Scout Cup IV Semi-Finals. A win here not only earns them a place in the Grand Final next week, but guarantees them one of the two big prizes.

With a recap of how the Quarter-Finals played out, here is how the Semis line-up…

Semi-Final #1 – Ninja_Fit_Saints Vs. redsareback

Ranked 1,576th in the world, Ninja_Fit_Saints is the second highest ranked competitor left. Last time out he beat elana_s 49 – 37, with Ben Foster’s nine saves, Chris Samba’s Bonus Points and David Silva’s double Gameweek being the key differences. That winning margin could have been wider had Ninja Fit Saints played his top-scorer Charles N’Zogbia.

His opponent, redsareback, must’ve been extremely confident of victory last Saturday lunchtime when the Fantasy Premier League squads updated, revealing a 36 point lead over Joel Farthing before a ball had been kicked. But watching that enormous lead erode away must’ve been equally unsettling. With goals from Nemanja Vidic, Thomas Hitzlsperger, Javier Hernandez, Luis Suarez and Peter Odemwingie, the tie finished surprisingly close. A David Silva goal on Tuesday night would have been enough to complete the shock victory, but as it was it ended 39 – 30.

Semi-Final #2 – Biscanators Vs. Mr Hat

Making his way into the Semi-Final, Biscanators beat competition favourite daniel.mf 65 – 60, in easily the rounds highest-scoring tie. Matching each other almost blow-for-blow, it was again those Foster saves and that Vidic goal that proved the difference.

With daniel.mf out-of-the-picture, it falls to Mr Hat to be the highest-ranked Fantasy Manager in the Semis, despite a red arrow this week. Falling to a still very impressive position of 819th in the world, he overcame hamyai_hamyai 49 – 48 by the narrowest of margins.

I’m sure you’ll all join me in wishing our Semi-Finalists the best of luck for this coming Gameweek. I’ll bring you the results, along with a preview of the Grand Final, next week.

To be totally honest, it sounds like a retarded plan. Point hits to get rid of fully fit Rooney and VDV?.....Yeah, ok.

      Don't like it at all.

Point hits this late on are almost certainly not going to pay off because the players you're bringing in have to score big to justify.

I'd keep your original three, with an eye on getting Suarez without a point hit. Might even wait for the last week to get him in.

Hopefuly Kenny won't be a lying bastard about Carroll's fitness again though and he might actually play.

Luiz is a major doubt after his clown show against United. Yaya and Silva might end up being rested because of the FA Cup.

Good front three, personally I'd ditch Downing as their remaining fixtures are pretty tough.

Ok, i'm looking for some sensible advice for my transfer this week. Things to consider - i'm not interested in taking a points hit, I don't want N'Zogbia, and I don't want replies from mongs.

At the moment i'm thinking Silva out to either Sessegnon or Hitz. Yes? no?

You're leading a ton of leagues. Are you chasing in any or are you happy with your points? I'm thinking of doing Silva out too so you're not wrong there. Hitz is the obvious choice, but Sessegnon is a nice differential if you are chasing.

      Silva or VDV to Hitz/LIV/Walcott

you also might be light on defenders if Luiz is rotated, Huth injured, Kosc. makes way for Verm...so maybe one of them to LIV defender (I think TOT are worn out and could easily fire a blank at LIV)

He's got the skill no doubt but if he wants to play in England at least another 2 stone needs to go on that frame.

Hangeland, Vidic, Samba, Henry etc. will knock all kinds of sh*t out of him.

          BIG difference there:

          Suarez - 5'11 - 81kg

          Hernandez - 5'8 - 72kg

                Definitely still too lightweight.

I have an idea though that Premier League defenders are great at handling fairly big players and less used to handle small players.

Luiz might start. Coleman if he doesnt play will most likely come off the bench and play 20 mins or so and get you a point anyway. If you think a defender you bring in will score 5 or more points then thats the only reason for changing a defender! I wouldnt change anything...

If you do then no real need for Shares, imo.

If not then is there any mid you can swap out for him? If you can get Kuyt for no hit then I,d go for that route. They both should score similarly this week.

hello, thanks for input this season, I got a crucial decision to make. 4 points MUST be spent but where? Rival just took over 1st place by 6 points, and he has baines, kuyt, and odemwingie and i dont. brought nzogbia in for dempsey. currently:

      Luiz, Kolarov, Carr (Walker, Simpson)

      Lampard, VDV, Silva, Nzogbia, Yaya

      RVP, Rooney (Gyan)

so im thinking gyan to suarez, just enough funds. but means benching an available front 8 player rather than addressing the defence which has two doubts starting and 2 horrible fixtures on the bench. however isnt it likely vdv may come into play anyway with possible resting of silva or yaya? bring in suarez, give him the armband and just settle for the fact that my defence scores will resemble a 5 digit binary code?

Thinking Rooney, Silva and Malouda to Suarez, Maxi and Lampard.
Rooney has been poor for me lately, Silva I think will be rotated and I need the Malouda money to get Lampard.
My thinking is Lampard will score big this week so I will captain him, Suarez will cut Tottenham to bits. Now Maxi is a risk but Im chasing 40 points, or is Nzogbia a safer choice? Although I dont like Nzogbia for GW38.

I'm in a similar situation in that I'm chasing 40pt points too! Those players are good choices but only if your rival doesn't have them - you won't be gaining points otherwise.

N'zogbia is the popular choice for this week but I'm not totally convinced. Scott Parker will be a major boost for West Ham this week and he normally dominates the midfield against most teams. I might take a punt on Sessegnon instead.

*correction, Play Luiz, Baines and R Johnson and have Huth first sub. I reckon Luiz will either start or not play at all.

Very difficult- toss a coin tbh. Young could tear shit up v a demoralised arsenal, Silva could do the same v stoke.

20 points behind my rival, we have pretty similar teams so need differential.

Silva might get rested next week (match is 3 days after FA Cup final) whilst Spurs have no reason to rest VDV.

true, but silva looked more threatening in the DGW. None of my rivals have Silva so maybe a decent differential if others keep VDV? Tough call

I wouldn't say he would be essential Tommy, he is a decent shout but he may not even get the whole 90 minutes himself + Utd won't have their best team out and won't win it as easy as people make out.

I don't think he will play versus Blackpool, Fergie won't want to risk anybody who could have a role against Barca and could play someone like Owen and Bebe up front. Thats just my opinion

I understand that view, but I think he'll give him one last league game to seal the golden boot/ensure Berbasloth doesn't leave in the summer.

Berbs is a big risk since he may not play, may not be sharp, and may not have the best players giving him service

It'll be a similar team to the one v Schalke and Berbatov seems to score big from nothing. A bit of a risk, but could definitely be worth it imo.

Will Kenny drop Maxi for Carroll though, would be a bit harsh considering the way Maxi and Liverpool have been playing, I'd expect the same team out again.
