The final Captain Poll of the season is now up and taking your votes on the front page. Although it’s upsetting to mark the passing of our Fantasy seasons, we nonetheless have to gather our thoughts and consider this final gameweek with care. Hopefully there’s plenty of us still in sight of mini-league glory, Chris McGurn sitting on top of the Fantasy Premier League, will certainly be deliberating every decision as looks to close in on the overall crown.

The armband looks set to be more critical than ever but, in a gameweek that’s likely to be riddled with second string players as rest and rotation bite hard, the decision looks a tough one.

Tottenham’s Rafael Van der Vaart is an early contender at home to hapless Birmingham but the Dutchman’s injury at Anfield has placed doubts over his start on Sunday. Charlie N’Zogbia is another leading candidate – his explosive form threatens to drag Wigan clear or relegation, but a trip to the Britannia is hardly the welcoming venue for the Latic’s latest bid for survival. Dimitar Berbatov is the early poll leader – the silky Bulgarian looks in line for a start when Blackpool’s wayward defence arrive at Old Trafford. Can “Uncle Bulgaria” fetch the goals that will snatch the Golden Boot and turn the tide for opportunist Fantasy Managers?

Cast your vote on the front page and use this thread to discuss you early thoughts on the skipper situation.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Off topic, but what are folks' thoughts on site membership renewal for next season?

Don't want to open a can of worms, nor the 'member v non-member debate' but I decided to get involved when it was £12.50 last year and to be honest I only ever really used it for the filtered season tickers, which are fantastic.

Having said that, my rank this season has shot up to a very respectable one even for this site, and have managed to win a decent cash price in a work league on the back of it.

Anyway, penny for your thoughts, so to speak.

I've been visiting this site since GW26 roughly and you can see the dramatic effect it has had on my performance.

I was around 150 points behind my best friend (a total chode when it comes to FF - gloats night and day, thinks he's the dogs bollocks etc) at Xmas time and I just overtook him this week, which was amazing so thank you FFS!

I'll defo be signing up next season, regardless of benefits, just to support this great resource.

Great to hear - thanks for your support. I take you've ignored the bits on Kolarov then.

The Kolarov stuff did baffle me I admit. Initially the logic was sound and the argument was a good one. Football just doesn't add up sometimes!

I will probably pay again but sometimes I consider whether to bother as, although I enjoy the info and many of the posters theirs so many douche bags nowadays I wonder what's the point in paying to be abused and read the abuse some of the idiots post on here. The banter is good but it gets ridiculously out of hand quickly and then I'm not bothered about coming on here and then again I wonder why I paid. Sorry just getting that off my chest! 😉

He still has his wildcard? Wow, that is resilient!

I reckon you can still do it but it might be tight. You may want to change Ba out this week for someone like Fletcher, but apart from that doesn't look like a bad team at this point.

You could go for Lampard and Ba -> Adam and Berba as Chelsea don't really offer much this week. An alternative to Adam would be Anderson or Gibson who could both score well.

I reckon he'll get in a team with some Spurs defenders, maybe Foster in goal, but in midfield and up front he'll probably get in the likes of Adam, N'Zogbia, VDV, Anderson/Gibson, Berba, Fletcher, Suarez maybe.

Personally I don't have a clue what I'm going to do yet, berba captain seems a popular choice and if he's got a wildcard he may well bring him in, so might be worth just trying to match his danger players.

Ye, I see no harm in just matching his danger players, that way he should find it very hard to make up 30 unless a left field pick goes mad.

You definately want to keep N'Zog but might be worth ditching Ba for sure this week now theyre down.

And no worries, that's what we're all here for. I'm sure I'll be asking for some advice by the end of the week, especially after my horrendoues Modric -> Maxi when I nearly got N'Zogbia trade this week.

Thanks, hopefully I'll be top 100 when Hangeland comes off my bench and hopefully Kolarov can play too and do well. Just hope I can keep it there in the last week.

Wait until end of week to see about the VDV injury but even then its tricky to predict what the relegation confirmation will do to West Ham. Last home game in the EPL so they could go out in style or just have given up already with zero motivation.

Alternative is NZog who still has something to fight for or Nani who should play.

Apparently from the news reports following Grants sacking, it was like having no manager even when he was their. Toad of Toad Hall had no motivation skills.

I wouldn't personally, west ham have nothing to play for, although that could be a good thing, is the motivation gonna be their?! Also I suppose theirs a chance he might not play if they fancy giving some of the kids a run out? I'd rather look elsewhere, maybe a cheap United mid, Adam, Nzogbia or another Wigan player if you don't have one? O'Hara, Hunt maybe someone like that?!

Both of them have missed sitters in the last two games that they almost certainly have won if scored. That would have left them very much still in the league.

They should hang their heads and accept championship football as punishment next season. To be honest I can't see Keane playing top level football again after this season... Just to think, he signed for Liverpool, shocking...

Upson has done very little to show he deserves to play top level football this season, but his wages mean he probably will. Same for most of the team to be honest.

used to rate him but he's lost all his sharpness which basically made him the player he was. fair enough losing your ability, happens to everyone at some point, but still celebrating like this when you score a penalty against andorra is a joke. http://www.soccacritics.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/wpid-RobbieKeane1874402c.jpg

    So,

matches which still have two motivated teams:

    Spurs v Brum
    - Wanted to avoid entry into Europa via fair play / avoid relegation

    Man Utd v B'pool
    - Berba motivated for golden boot, b'pool to avoid drop

    Wolves v B'burn
    - Both to avoid drop

That's the only one I can come up with out of the ten where both teams will be up for it...

A few relgation facts for one to ponder

-> If West Ham, Wigan and Wolves go down, it will be the first time in premier league history that three teams with the same first letter are relegated

-> If two of Blackburn, Birmingham and Blackpool go down, it will be the first time since the 2000/2001 season that there would be only one team present in the league starting with a B

-> Derby hold the record of the fewest goals scored by a relegated team

-> If DJ Campbell scores two goals this weekend, he will become only the second player to come in the top 5 of the scoring charts but still get relegated (last to do so was Andy Johnson with Crystal Palace)

-> If Blackpool go down, they will be the first side ending with POOL to get relegated

-> The team that got the most points but still got relegated since the premier league encompassed 20 teams were West Ham in the 2002/2003 season, ending on 42 points

    And as a side note

-> If Cardiff or Swansea get promoted, it will be the first time that a welsh side has played in the Premier League

        Found it
If they take one point from their last Premier League game against Blackpool on 22 May, it will be their largest points haul at Old Trafford of all the 12 Premier League titles Ferguson has won.

Just trying to shut someone up about how we are "the worst away champions ever"

I'm 15th in H2H1, and essentially need to hope Joe hart scores 2 or less vs. Stoke.

Kolarov being benched would be nice, but Silva missing out would kill me. Extremely tight margins.

Who's going to be watching the Play off tonight?

Who do we reckon to progress? It's extremely tight, but I reckon the Swans might just nick it.

I'm up for getting Berbs in, just worried that the team they put out won't provide him with that many chances. Blackpool are going to have a bloody good go at them.

Would be more interesting if it did.

Both Berba and Tevez would lose a goal making it:

      Berba - 20
      Tevez - 19
      Bent - 17
      RVP - 17

Just to make the last weekend of the season a bit more interesting

Berbatov's on penalties this weekend if it becomes too close to call? OK, he made a bit of an arse of himself against Everton but he has scored a few in his career.

How does this team look and how many points would you predict??

    Robinson

    Lescott, Luiz, Ridgewell

    VDV, Walcott, Dempsey, Adam, Johnson

    Carroll, RVP

    Subs.. Foster, Givet, Ronney, Vidic..

Honestly Syd I can't see a decent score for you.

Johnson, Walcott, Dempsey, Carroll, Robinson, Ridgewell all look like weak picks this week.

Luiz won't play bringing in Givet so doubling up on Blackburn defence.

      VDV likely out.

I would be looking to make some changes.
