The last midweek Dugout Discussion of the season sees a repeat of the enthralling FA Cup Final between Manchester City and Stoke City. There’s no silverware at stake tonight, but for Man City there is the genuine incentive of leap-frogging Arsenal into third, with automatic Champions League qualification the reward for sitting there come Sunday evening.

Although not a televised game, the Dugout Discussion is open for business and serves to house your reactions as the news comes in. The first news in are those all-important line-ups…

Man City XI: Hart, Richards, Kompany, Lescott, Zabaleta, Milner, De Jong, Silva, Yaya Toure, Adam Johnson, Tevez.

Stoke XI: Sorensen, Wilkinson, Collins, Shawcross, Wilson, Pugh, Diao, Whelan, Whitehead, Walters, Carew.

Roberto Mancini names David Silva and Carlos Tevez amongst his first eleven, with the former playing despite being tagged a major injury doubt. Aleksander Kolarov misses out again, to the annoyance of those still unfortunate to own him.

Stoke also make a host of changes, with popular fantasy players Asmir Begovic, Robert Huth and Matthew Etherington all sidelined for one reason or another. Elsewhere, John Carew earns a rare start at the expence of Kenwyn Jones.

Akers Richard or Akers, as he is known, has been regularly haunting this site since July 2008. He is young and foolish, take what he says with a pinch of salt. Follow them on Twitter

    I thought Berbatov might be the biggest bandwagon banded about on here this week. Definitely gonna be Tevez instead.

      I never take 8/12 unless there is some serious injuries. Even if my defence is totally f*cked i'll take -4 this week.

      Also depends on fixtures. Spurs and Man Utd the only really good ones.

    Gents,

    Had a mammoth score this week to put me in the lead in my mini league by approx 30pts. Deliberating over next weeks choices with all the rotation going on.

    Foster (Robinson)
    Luiz* Hangeland Djourou* (Walker) (Coleman*)
    Lamps Nani* VdV Zog (Jarvis*)
    RVP Rooney* Hernandez*

    * indicates they are not likely to play 90mins

    Ive narrowed it down to a few options.
    A) Rooney --> Berbasloth
    B) Rooney --> Berbasloth, Hernandez --> Suarez
    C) Rooney --> Berbasloth, Nani --> Kuyt

    What do u think?

    Any better options?

        Not the only reason. I like as is - but the Cap't. option I'd like to see go.

        Points off the bench can be tactical, y'know. For instance, starting a better player - but one questionable to start due to injury. Having a quality sub on the bench to come in is not a mistake of a careless manager, necessarily. Quite the opposite.

                The reviews for Wipeout are much better than for Dead Nation, although the game is a year or two older.

            No doubt - been there myself, surely. I do sympathize, not trying to WUM and pee in your cereal just to do so ... I'm just saying that the old adage in FPL is:

            When *I* do something and it pans out: brilliance, knowledge, wily gameplay.

            When you do something and it pans out: luck, capricious fate, flawed game system.

            I'm not saying all things FPL are perfect - but sometimes you eat the bear and sometimes it eats you.
