The last midweek Dugout Discussion of the season sees a repeat of the enthralling FA Cup Final between Manchester City and Stoke City. There’s no silverware at stake tonight, but for Man City there is the genuine incentive of leap-frogging Arsenal into third, with automatic Champions League qualification the reward for sitting there come Sunday evening.

Although not a televised game, the Dugout Discussion is open for business and serves to house your reactions as the news comes in. The first news in are those all-important line-ups…

Man City XI: Hart, Richards, Kompany, Lescott, Zabaleta, Milner, De Jong, Silva, Yaya Toure, Adam Johnson, Tevez.

Stoke XI: Sorensen, Wilkinson, Collins, Shawcross, Wilson, Pugh, Diao, Whelan, Whitehead, Walters, Carew.

Roberto Mancini names David Silva and Carlos Tevez amongst his first eleven, with the former playing despite being tagged a major injury doubt. Aleksander Kolarov misses out again, to the annoyance of those still unfortunate to own him.

Stoke also make a host of changes, with popular fantasy players Asmir Begovic, Robert Huth and Matthew Etherington all sidelined for one reason or another. Elsewhere, John Carew earns a rare start at the expence of Kenwyn Jones.

Akers Richard or Akers, as he is known, has been regularly haunting this site since July 2008. He is young and foolish, take what he says with a pinch of salt. Follow them on Twitter

Yeah, but equally, you don't expect to get 'unlucky' every week, which is what it feels like this year!

Playing Silva (good form and at home to Stoke) ahead of Bent (shite form and at Arsenal) should never cost you 13 points. If that's not 'unlucky', what is?

Perhaps you should change your style slightly, although I know it worked well for you last year 😀

I reckon this game is becoming less about fixtures and stats, and more about gut feelings on certain players etc.

It's certainly been the case this year, but I doubt it will be a continuous trend. This year has just been different because the top teams haven't been as good as last year.

This game isn't difficult really, you get the expensive players in for easy fixtures and watch them bring in the points. Only this year that hasn't happened quite so much, because the big teams have dropped points (especially at home) more so than usual.
