Here’s some last minute team news revelations from the Chelsea camp – well, maybe not revelations, but certainly handy confirmations. Carlo Ancelotti has announced a partial lineup for today’s clash with Everton via Chelsea TV exclusive published just this morning…

β€œFernando Torres will play, Petr Cech will play, John Terry will play from the start, Alex will play, Ashley Cole and Frank Lampard.”

The Chelsea boss also confirmed that he will be without Jose Bosingwa, Ramires and Youssi Benayoun for the Goodison encounter.

The list of confirmations is significant in that it suggests that David Luiz will again sit out having been dropped to the bench for the 2-2 draw with Newcastle. We’re likely to see the same back four at Everton that started that game, with Branislav Ivanovic at right-back.

Moving to midfield and the inclusion of Lampard is no surprise but at least reassuring to his owners. The absence of Ramires could be significant however – he started against the Magpies to be replaced in the second-half by Florent Malouda – the Frenchman could now earn a recall to the side for today’s game along with Michael Essien who may come in for Chelsea’s Young Player of the Year Josh McEachran.

The mention for Torres would suggest a start up front and that could well mean that Didier Drogba finds himself on the bench having had to settle for substitute appearance against Newcastle. Ancelotti could also go with both strikers of course having started with Benayoun in a 4-3-3 last weekend. Nothing is certain then – but at least Ancelotti has lived up to his billing as the Fantasy Manager’s friend by giving us some strong leads.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

          That my thinking. Ba either plays and is their main goal threat, or he's fully bench in which case Kuyt comes on for me.

    Option A:

    Odem -> Berba

    Gomes (Foster) – As if G man starts he’s more likely to get the CS
    Ward Hangeland Walker (Kolarov Terry)
    N’Zogbia Silva Lampard Kuyt Dempsey
    Berba RVP (Sturridge)

    Option B:

    A and Sturridge -> Tevez, Lampard -> Adam

    To play… N’Zogbia Adam Kuyt Dempsey; Berba RVP Tevez

    Option C:

    A and Sturridge -> Tevez, Terry -> R Taylor, Silva -> Adam

    Ward, Taylor, Hangeland; Adam, Lampard, N’Zogbia, Kuyt; Berba, Tevez, RVP.

    Thoughts? Changes?

    Current team:

    Begovic (Foster)
    Simpson Smalling Kolarov (Luiz) (R Johnson)
    N Zogbia Malouda Silva Hitzelsperger (VDV)
    Berba Van Persie DJ Campbell

    I'm contemplating Kuyt in for VDV for a 4 point hit. My other options were Nani or Anderson but I couldn't decide on either!

    Any advice would be much appreciated!

    Lads some advice is much needed....

    Begovic
    Ivanovic - Skrtel - Kolarov
    Lampard - Nani - VDV - Adam - OHara
    RVP(c) - Suarez

    Foster - Walker - Baird - Welbeck

    My worry is that VDV doesnt play I dont have much backup on the bench.

    Is Berbatov really essential? Would require a points hit.

      VDV is 99% sure not to play, so plan for that.

      I'd play Walker over Skrtel.

      Berbatov isn't essential if you've got a big lead or you're chasing someone who has him and so need to differentiate.
